back in the 70's we lived in Kalispell for 7 years. One winter my husband was driving US Mail to Spokan and for 31 days the temp stayed below 0 even in the day time which was also very unusual also. I enjoy watching your videos and hereing about Montana weather. We would have stayed up there had we not had to move because of work. I'm now in Colorado and enjoy the mountans around here. Keep up the good work and keep the great ideas coming. Thank you.
2 years ago! Where did the time go. I’m making a topper and got my Poppy journal out, that l love 💕and started ripping cardboard. Tea staining some battenburg and sewing in my signature. It was fun seeing my topper being made again and following along. Thanks for everything you share Gayle 👋🤗💕
I know what you mean about fog. I grew up in a mountain town and we almost never had fog but now we are about a mile from a lake and often have fog in the winter for days. It does kinda get to you. Love the journal toppers they are wonderful! Hugs, Amy💕
Great to watch again... I can't have you as background noise, I have to watch you... No pressure! 😁 When I'm making clusters to things similar to your clusters, I throw a few random things together in a wee bag, and just use what's in there... I find it a fun challenge and it pushes my creativity... I just use what's in my bag! ❤️
Perfect timing on this video! I have a finished prayer/gratitude journal, but couldn't decide what to put on the cover. By the way, I only sleep to your re-runs.😴😁😘😘 Have a great week and I hope Addie is feeling better.
Great job on the journal cover toppers. I love each one. They will look great on a cover. It is fun working with cardboard. To me is is easy to make them grungy and antique and I love that. I need to find those Tim Holtz photos. I haven’t seen them. ❤️😊
Such fun! I really like the final covers. Gorgeous! It’s hard to pick a favorite. I think the little girl is just beautiful and should look perfect on the poppy cover. … I think fog is so interesting. We don’t get tons of it here in Ohio… just occasional fogs in lower lying fields. Sometimes it’s pretty thick, but it doesn’t usually hang around. Fog makes a great backdrop for suspense movies. A little spooky, but cool too. Thanks for the fun video. Enjoy your day. Susan G
These toppers are like the perfect jewelry for an outfit, exquisite details that add to the whole in a way that enhances everything. It was great watching you create them. So sorry that your granddaughter is ill. I am sending prayers.
These turned out great. I got some good ideas by watching this. The Tim Holtz paper dolls is a perfect addition. And the Luise Heinzl (sp?) scraps! I've only used the ones I made to collage junk mail envelopes and on page edges. I plan on making some clusters too from them. This was a great way to use them...I'll have to copy you 😁. TFS Hope you have a great day. 🌞
I love the journal covers! I haven’t made them before! Now that really inspires me to get crafting and make some along with the covers! Thanks for sharing sis! Love you! 💖🤗💖
Good afternoon Gayle! Hi and hugs right back to ya! Love these toppers. So fabulous! Love your creativity and so admire how you make things come together so nicely. Hope you have a wonderful day! My day is wonderful now that I’ve had my Gayle time! 💕💖
I really enjoyed this MMM!! love working with the cardboard too....so easy to grungy it up. I need to learn how to put together my toppers in a timely manner like you!! It takes me so long....I am thinking about putting different items in my antique muffin tin so I won't feel so overwhelmed with choices. Thank you for another fab video!!
Hey Gayle! These are great! So glad you did this tutorial! I'd also like to recommend using vintage wallpaper to do the insides of the covers. I really like using wallpaper as it's often quite durable and has a variety of textures. Linen textured wallpaper are my favorites. Hope your day is going well. God bless. Sue
HI Gayle, love the stamp you got, can you share the link? I went on Amazon to find one and I tried everything and could not find it. Thanks for sharing and God Bless you and your family.
I’ve been watching you since before Christmas, but just got help from #2 daughter (#1) to get you on my iPad. I think you are great! I love the goofs then laughing at yourself! I laugh, too, because I make some doozie mistakes too! LOL! My fav of yours is “just talk amongst yourselves “! 🥰
Love these toppers! Its funny, I talk to you like you can hear me! My husband talks to the TV all the time, I guess its finally rubbed off on me after 48 years of marriage !! 😆❤
Kate are those the ones that are on Amazon? I saw a pack that said new and showed LOTS of cool tiny ppl and it came with some kind of storage bag extra..But when you read on down it said you only got 50 tiny ppl,and there was way more than 50 in the picture shown..I was just wondering if those were the same ones you are talking about that he has out that's new..
We have woken to yet more torrential rain here on the east coast of Australia. The floods have been devastating and caused a lot of deaths and property damage. People have lost homes and businesses and animals have perished. It has caused billions of Aussie dollars in damage. Where I live, we have had rain almost everyday now for almost three weeks. Forecasts are saying it will finally ease where I live at least, tomorrow. We need the rain to stop. Your videos are a respite from the lousy weather. I love what you have done with the covers and the toppers. Thank you.
All three journal cover toppers are so pretty. When you were making the first one with the little girl, I was thinking that it looked good with the picture sitting kind of crooked. No sooner did I have that thought when you actually said the exact thing I was thinking. It turned out great. All the embellishments added to each topper made them extra special. I love your taste in designing your pieces. Thanks so much for sharing another fun and inspiring video.
Good morning, Gayle ❤️, I didn’t go to sleep last night till almost 2:30am because we were under a tornado watch! We’ve only been here 2years and have a healthy respect for tornadoes 🌪.
Good morning Gayle, love these covers you made . I saved cardboard & I forgot why . Now I remember. Yesterday I finished the 4 journals I put together. That was a great idea you shared. Now I’m going to go make some toppers . Blessings to you and your family. Have a great day. 💜🌸💜
Good Morning my Sweet Friend Gayle! I love that gesso brush. I gotta find one like that. The covers turned out beautiful!! Ok off to finish watching you create BEE-utiful toppers!!Blessings, positive vibes and peace for all who need it in these unsure times! Namesta ✌️🐞🕉️
I have a couple of those brushes and I’ve had them for many years and like Gayle I don’t remember where I got them but I seem to think that they were in the children’s craft department.
Lyn I keep looking for them with no luck. Where I volunteered we had them and I fell in love with them when we were all painting one time. They're great for clouds or bunches of wildflowers. 🐞✌️🕉️
I need to make a to do list and add toppers to it! Your toppers are so pretty, I always learn something new from every video I watch! Bright and sunny morning here in Oregon where I am.
While I was watching you, you sneezed at the exact same moment an etsy sale cha-chinged on my phone. It struck me as funny plus the sale is most likely thanks to you. I hope it is the opposite of a manic Monday. Love&hugs
I live in Arizona where it is very dry, too. Our humidity is frequently 7 or 8%. However, every once in a while we will have very thick fog. Very unusual. I have lived in Michigan surrounded by lakes and in California along the coast but the thickest fog I’ve ever seen has been here in the desert! I love these book covers! Very simple to do but really pack a punch with your toppers!
LOVE all the toppers...so uniquely beautiful!! My favorite is "Joy" because even though their sweet faces don't show it, they're feeling it on the inside!! 😘😁 LOVE & HUGS ❤🤗
Hi Gayle: I'm one of those subscribers who have your YT videos playing quietly during the night. Your voice is very calming. I had to laugh the other night when I woke up to you making clusters from scraps. BUT, back then your scraps could fit in a sandwich bag box. Boy, how things have changed! Hugs, Donna From the Jersey Shore
Love the grunged up corrugated cardboard as a base. The finished covers are awesome. My favorite is the one with the woman on the front. That is awesome tissue. Wish I knew where that came from.
Hi Gayle! We are getting rain on and off today, really tired because I need Sunshine. 🤔 Enjoyed your video, I was playing with my scraps today, my brain just said not thanks today. 😂 Your covers turned out beautiful and is such a transformation from an envelope. Have a good day, take care! 💜
these are lovely Gayle - i'm going to go grab an empty box and rip it apart lol - i should just keep a bag of torn cardboard pieces in a large ziploc - be well 🤗
Hello Gayle, the journal covers you did the other day are so pretty. Just love the toppers you created today, thanks for sharing. Sorry Addie will be missing her tournament.
We were so in sync on this video. Lol. Which lace to add behind the little girl and the the little girl Askew And I agree with not attaching to the journal cover yet. Fear of commitment. 😂😍
Good morning Gayle. We are experiencing fog this morning as well, but we are near the ocean so that is understandable. Don't know why you would be getting a heavy fog as it is so much dryer there. I find it depressing. The covers look great. You put them together so quickly. I would still be sitting here trying to figure out the first one...lol. Take care. Hugs.
Omg Miss Gayle this video was sooo fun and I learned so much from it!! What a fun MMM episode, Gayle! Tortellini Soup sounds great…does Mr. A deliver? We’re only a mere 1,200 miles away! I love the idea of having a few journal cover toppers complete and waiting in the wings and I really like crafting with corrugated cardboard! Fall asleep watching/listening to your videos? NEVER!
Hi Gayle, I really enjoy your channel and I had a whole box of tissue paper. This was the perfect use for it. I couldn't find the name of the paper aging agent on your description. Can you send me the name. I'm working on these covers. Thank You!!
Love that you did this project today Gayle…..my favorite was the family with the butterfly in upper left corner..don’t get get me wrong they were fabulous. But just saying…. Quick question. On the cardboard, are you just deconstructing a box by ripping the layers off of it, which can be sometimes challenging…..thanks for sharing once again and have a great day. As always enjoyed your video.
Okay, the first thing that popped in my head when you set the bird close to the little girls head was Alfred Hitchcock's movie "The Birds". Lol, so funny. Thank you for this video. I struggle with how to decorate a journal cover and I love these ideas! So sorry about Addie! I have a grandbaby with that name also. It always hurts us when our grandbabies are hurting or disappointed about something. Thanks for all that you do!
Perfect timing ! I have 3 journals to make and I'm struggling with a cover focal point. Love these cover toppers ❤️ May I ask what book corners you use to fit the envelope journal covers please? The ones I have don't fit right
Great toppers. I’m trying one this afternoon. I checked your favorite things but did not see the small plastic storage containers you used today. Where did you find them. I would like to get some for my small ephemera pieces. Thank you for sharing
Good morning Gayle! It was fun "having my coffee with you again" this morning & what gorgeous toppers you created. I've saved tons of cardboard from packages & now I know what to do with them. You're a lifesaver for newbies. Oh, which epson eco-printer do you have. Mine's on its way out & Ive been looking at the epsons. Are you happy with yours? Please let me know which model you have.
I just bought the Epson Eco tank 2760 from Sam’s Club and Costco has it for the same price. $50 cheaper than Amazon. So far I’m liking it, my favorite thing is that it prints borderless so no tearing off of those little edges. My old HP also printed borderless so there was no way I was going to be tearing edges off of paper. I got a pack of the Epson Matte presentation paper from Amazon and the package came with one tiny little corner of the papers kind of bent and the printer does not like that. I haven’t tried printing on vellum yet or coffee dyed paper, my old HP print it on pretty much anything I have a feeling that the Epson is going to be a little bit more fiddley since it doesn’t like that little bent corner.
Hello Gayle! Did you see the new idea-ology things from Timmy? He has a new pack of miniature paper doll people! So exciting. I feel challenged to try more mixed media. Hope your Addie feels better soon.
So fun to do. Love all the different products that you use. The covers are beautiful. Thanks for the great video💞💞💞
