    A hip-hop legend in his own right, Lord Jamar stopped by VladTV for another unforgettable interview discussing contemporary issues in the culture. This time around, DJ Vlad and Lord Jamar dissect Jay-Z's newest album, 4:44 and the backlash it has received. Vlad crowns HOV as one of the first to ever rap about generational wealth in the hip-hop community as he and Lord Jamar discuss the now infamous "money phone" and ways in which the black community can accumulate wealth. Watch above.

      It is though. Vlad only highlights what essentially is wrong in rap and hiphop music, this isnt any different imo. What I got from that Big line was more than just being a father trying to raise an independent woman, because of the bars that came after it....."Stay far from timid, only make moves with ya heart in it..... and live the phrase sky's the limit"

    If Jay-z said holding money to your ear is stupid. Listen. He been living life in financial success since 1996. He been having the best of anything can buy for years. He knows what he's talking about. Secondly, on some rap ish. He's a veteran rapper. So if he called you out on the money to your ear thing be greatful. #1 he cought his radar.
    #2 he respects you as an artist.
    #3 he got enough love for you to correct you because he sees something in you and wants you to be better.

    • @MD-DLive
      @MD-DLive 4 роки тому +1

      Exactly! All due respect to the repliers of this segment of the interview speaking on generational wealth. However, one point they all missed and /or did not touch base on and that is, we really dont own anything! Especially as black/brown people! Why ? Well for one thing, unlike other groups/races, they have International Backing, Black folks do not!!!! We are not worldly respected especially in the great USA. So as Jamar said, there's a certain point financially you will reach and you will be cut off! Think about Michael Jackson, Bill Cosby, other black entrepreneurs whose deaths til this day are ruled suspicious! Tulsa, Oklahoma and Rosewood, Florida! Rosewood wasn't just about the white womans lie, it was also a trigger/excuse to destroy a black built town doing better than a poor white town( Untold Story) . So we as black people have to be grounded about this generational wealth effort yet illusion! In basic terms, there is no such thing as FINANCIAL FREEDOM!

    People saying Jay Z is doing this because it's a trend or is copying Nas.
    1. LIG wasn't the first grown man rap album. The Fix, Be, etc came before it.
    2. Jay been talking about stuff like this since RD (Streets school us to spend our money foolish) He coined black excellence on WTT.
    Besides Jay told y'all. "Don't fall me youngin, follow my moves"
    He may've been rapping about ignorant shit but he came into the game independent. Jay has always lived the things he's rapping on 4:44

    Let's keep it funky;There are people talking real shit on albums in modern day; FACTS. Jay-Z is just getting the higher credit because his words reach more people. Just because he's the first rapper you heard it say it because he said it on a mainstream scale doesn't mean he was the first to say it.

    The end of this interview is ridiculous. Free is in the mind. but you can be free in your mind and locked up in fail, on the streets or unemployed. Financial freedom is merely being able to live within your means and unforeseen circumstances. You leave your house and you car doesn't start, you lose your job, a tree falls on your roof, you break your legs... having the ECONOMIC stability to survive the unexpected should be everyone's goal. Jamar out here using 1922 as a reference for 2017. There are areas in america RIGHT NOW with high black middle to upper-class populations whom are all wealth. People are literally moving there to be around such people. If you have a defeated mindset you prepare for a life of loss.
    Money isn't the answer for everything- but if you live in a capitalist system it is the answer to a lot of things! AND it will make your life a lot easier- if you aren't a slave to commercialism. Jamar gives too many excuses for people to remain ignorant of how they can better themselves and their children.

    • @MD-DLive
      @MD-DLive 5 років тому

      I see your point however what Jamar is adding is that you have to have an inner balance first! Mental, Spiritual! Physical is last because again all this including the point you're making can come and go at ANYTIME!

    • @MD-DLive
      @MD-DLive 5 років тому

      That's not ignorance! Actually, because of this principle not being practiced, we(blacks) have and are becoming our worst enemy regardless of so-called status &wealth! What do you think?
