I love Taapsee so much. She's the kind of woman everyone should learn from. Her thoughts, her movies, her attitude towards society, not getting scared by anyone but still being respectful. Yes Kabir Singh was a film which glorified toxic masculinity and let's accept that. I'm so thankful that people like Taapsee exist and they not only talk but they prove it through their actions. Best wishes to this film. Wish it is a huge blockbuster

Even Kabir Singh was a feminist movie. Indirect way it was . This movie is blatantly doing that. People are not understanding what Bollywood is being slowly mixing in society. It simply is wanting to destroy family unit so that individuals are lefts unprotected and vulnerable without family backing. No one to rely or believe in. Thats why they made Sanskar as a funny word.
This is also what govt. is wanting. To control and loot the people without any fear of questioning. As a vulnerable and alone crowd with disbelief for each other couldn't questions or raise voice against the oppressor. These interviews are are scripted and both interviewee and interviewers are paid.

I'm not in favour of domestic's violence, but things do go wrong and as long as person is genuinely sorry and constantly begging for forgiveness then there is nothing wrong with accepting the apology. Hollywood/Bollywood is an agenda machine that experiments with people and culture. They slowly introduce something small and make it normal, if people accept it then they introduce more of whatever agenda they want to run. People are so dumb thinking that these actors care about society. This same Feminist actor will dance half naked in a item song as long she is getting paid. Sometimes I feel sorry for people who worship these actors.
Now it's a trend to make these dumb so called "real life stories" or "being woke" movies and all producers want to milk on it and make as much money as they can before people get bored of this concept. Look back in the history of movies they have always followed what was being accepted by people. India is known for culture and these soulless people only care about money and awards. I cannot sit with my family and watch any of these movies anymore. I'm not from India but I respect our culture....
We are sent to worship the one who created us, but sadly we are so distracted by these people who don't care about anyone expect for their bank accounts.
This is not just a movie. It's reality. Kudos to the women who stood up for themselves even when the world was against them.
I agree what you have said. but no one sees the other side. Domestic violence section 489A has been misused badly by the women against men. Supreme Court has termed it as "Legal Terrorism". Women are using this section just to extort money and evidences are never asked from the women. These cases are huge in numbers in all metro cities. But No women has ever step in protecting the men.
@@nikhil.k3 yeah u are completely rt but their ratio is very small but domestic violence on women happens largely all over india specially in backward class and midle class and secondly if a man is wrong he should be punished and if a women is wrong she should also be given the same punishment. As a girl i feel equality should be for both the genders
@@zakiyamoin3033 Not at all. The ratio is extremely large in all metro cities. Maharashtra is the biggest hub for such false cases. Even the POSCO law has been blatantly misused by married girls against father-in-law. If you do the research you will get whole picture. You are unaware coz you dont see picture. Mens sucidial rates is extremely large compared to women in India. The number of mens sucides in these false 498A case is increasing tremendously. None has stepped in to rescue these inncoent mens, not even the law nor the government nor any women. We don't even have mens right commission. Thanks to the lady like Deepika Bharadwaj who fights for such men.
@@zakiyamoin3033 womens are never punished by law. Ghe convinction rate is only 12 to 15%. While if mens found guilty gets rigorous punishment. Bring out any case where women has been punished harshly for such false cases, leave this women are not even punished harshly for false rape case. Check out what happen to Jasleen kaur case.
This story actually related to my life story and I did what taapsee did in this movie. however, I believe every woman should stand for her self-respect. Great Job.

You are right Tapsee, Indian films have a huge influence on the Indian audience. A case in example, there was this Indian guy here in U.S. who was stalking his american ex. She sued him in court. The judge eventully aquitted him because in his defence he said this is common in his culture and he grew up watching films that show stalking a girl is okay. ;-) We have no idea how many such dysfunctional Indians roam the world today. The Hindi films really need a clean-up.

Thappad was released on Prime today - just watched it again. Now watching all the promotional interviews. There is so much depth to this film, it's purpose and the performance by Taapsee Pannu. She speaks so eloquently. This is truly her year.

Even in the name of apologizing her husband in the movie did not apologize but tried to justify it. This also can continue to become physical, mental, verbal violence. The film also shows us how she was ignoring everything else he was doing. So no it's not just a slap. Slap is just a symptom of a bigger underlying issue.
