Form the Netherlands thanks for the video Spancer
Thanks man
Thing is nearly though for real
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh nice to see the red demon hasn't been forgotten....😁😁
That's right: nothing like that little slicer ... if only I could find another one
Big through down. Nice job.
Thanks buddy
What a fun day!
Stay safe
haha ... for sure
Raker Guage EACH precisely with EM. Guage to smooth out efficiently plunge-cuts. Also, start plunge thru stem more away from hinge. Then, when thru, ease toward your planned hinge . (Gd time to install wedges, if maybe needed, and cut the back panel. Will attempt photo of handy EM. Guage. That’s just how I do it ! As you say 👍
Sounds super pro and something I need practice with. Seems like when I need to do a plunge cut I find it's the first time in a while. Thanks man!
Good work 👨🔧
Big thanks!
That's a lot of work in one day. Thanks for bringing us along.
Cooling off today thank goodness… which will make such days bearable
@@metaspencer Enjoy the cool air my friend.
Enjoyed seeing "how you did it," thanks for the video.
Thanks for checking it out!
Bro I have started watching you more than anyone. You don't have all this expensive equipment like cranes and bucket trucks etc. You are more like me small scale tree guy trying to make some money lol.
You said it man: I keep the equipment costs at a minimum and pocket the ca$$$$$$h hahaha :) always good times out there
You gotta Hawk Tuah that thing to keep it from chattering while bore cutting. Well done Wood whisperer.
Hawk Tuah for sure! I've gottan much better at the bore cut over the years ... takes some wrist :)
@@metaspencer Lol, good to go brother
Kinda funny, but I love listening to the sound of your truck.... -_-
You and me both ... great sound to that one!
Two days in a row. What a treat!
haha ... thanks! catching up around here
He's going to spoil us. ✌️🙃
If you are exerting any upward pressure on the bar as you plunge it will want to come back. I try to maintain a very slight downward pressure as i plunge so the teeth on top of bar tip arent catching significant pressure.
Ahhhh, makes sense! I'll have to practice a bit more to get the feel for it. Thanks man
1 anser for the thing you asked i use both hands with a litte preasher
Sounds good!
All right a double feature weekend! Nice video Spencer!
haha ... you betcha :)
Need a small winch on the trailer cinch strap big piles of brush and let it drag em to the trailer.. that tree trolley is expensive im just buying a winch
Cinch strap! Great idea. Man, you've got some good solutions. Plus, I could use a good winch (new toy!)
@@metaspencer always use new toys its what makes all this worth it
I have 2 questions. 1. Do you always prefer Basal Anchor for SRT? 2. Is Dendrochronodities a real word with meaning?
Number 1: I prefer to slip the anchor up top as it reduces forces, can be moved, and there is no chance of the basal connection getting jacked with by a falling branch or whatever ... but it's not always easy to isolate a branch up top to slip the anchor connection up there, if ya know what I mean ... and then number 2: "Dendrochronodities" was an inside joke with my wife who is into dendochronology ... :)
Great job Spencer! See you on the next one!
Hey, you checked out another one! Have a good weekend
Thanks for the content.
Keep up the good work.

Thanks buddy!
The chatter is from going in straight angle the tip away from you just a tinge
aha! I knew you'd know the deal ... I almost never have to do the bore cut so should practice ... thanks man
@@metaspencer your welcome cottontop3 has a great turorial hes a logger/tree guy
@@metaspencer ua-cam.com/video/IiXsnfFYgWQ/v-deo.html
Watch how when he starts to bore he starts at an angle then straightens the bar out
Our neighbors had a 200+ year old mulberry tree taken down last year. It was 70’ plus in height. The birds loved that tree when the fruit were ripe. It was originally planted for silk worms.
Great job on that tree Spencer. That crown was bigger than I thought.
I would have loved to have seen that one! Sounds like one heck of a tree. Thanks for the comment and for checking out the video :)
I cut a 70 foot mullberry down last winter biggest ive ever seen
70'! That's about twice as big as what I've seen around here
@@metaspencer its the only one ive seen that big in real life i seen a big 6ft across log get milled one time it came out the woods tho the one i cut was 20ft from a house lol go figure i got pics of a 50ft lift all the way extended up and i had to cut 15 to 20 foot tops.. it was 2 car haulers full of wood
Oh man what a beast of a tree
Awesome work, loved the video as always.
Thanks buddy
👍
Excellent
Doesn’t that dull your chains pretty quickly? That Mulberry wood?
You've got it: had to sharpen everything after that job ... stumps do a number on chains, too
Chatter could be from rakers are a little low "too aggressive" and or let the saw cut don't force it into wood. I'm no expert just my 2 cents. Be safe and awesome video.
Sounds like one or both of those things could be true! Thanks man ... I often over file my rakers and know I was shoving it in there :)
@@metaspencer hopefully that will help you out I use a raker gauge when filling but I don't use any of the other gimmicky stuff.
Just curious Spencer, what do you do with all the stuff the ground crew cleans up? Do you chip it or just too much to keep?
We’ve got a landscape recycling center here in town for the branches and the logs I split for firewood
Do you ever use a tapered hinge, sizwheel, or triple hinge?
...or a dutchman for that matter
for avoiding chatter on a plunge cut I guess I try to use the bottom corner of the bar more than going straight in - sort of a 10 degree angle or so if that makes any sense. Sometimes it just happens though - especially with skip tooth chain.
I haven't used a dutchmen to swing a tree but am waiting for the right situation ... every now and then I'll use the sizwheel to get some spin or roll ... triple hinge is one I've only seen videos about. The right hinge for the right moment!
Where did you find your gray rolling cart? I'm looking for something similar, but haven't found one that looks like yours.
I picked mine up on Craigslist but I believe it's this one: www.qcsupply.com/360230-plastic-crate-wagon.html?Google|Shopping|NB|All_Products|ALL|ALL|ALL|FM&gclid=Cj0KCQjwxYOiBhC9ARIsANiEIfbVGUnAQ9UqcYjYD0GEFvPQBFB5ookzDSmADkHw-GPJXlFdpkRvs-QaAlIcEALw_wcB ... I've tried some of the metal Gorilla Carts but they don't take a beating like that plastic!
this one also looks very similar: amzn.to/43Rlg0b
