Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, and director Denis Villeneuve share secrets from Dune Part Two and reveal Florence Pugh’s and Austin Butler’s new characters.
Vanity Fair has published first look photos from Dune 2, along with insights from its director, Denis Villeneuve, giving us our first detailed look at the new film, reportedly an epic war movie. Villeneuve, however, is quick to dismiss the term “sequel,” emphasizing that this film is a “second part” of the same story, picking up right where the first film left off with Timothée Chalamet’s character, Paul Atreides. “There’s a difference,” the visionary director says, between a sequel and a second part.
The new images coming in from Dune 2 are, not a bit surprisingly, stunning. As he did on Blade Runner 2049 and the first Dune, Villeneuve is presenting us with a richly imagined, carefully detailed world, depicted with stark beauty that incorporates the majestic, the harsh, and even the somewhat grotesque.
From the looks of things, Dune 2 is set to be a worthy continuation of its predecessor, which won six Oscars, the most of any film that year. The universe of the story will expand, of course, bringing new development to the world and new characters.
One of Dune 2‘s new faces will be Austin Butler, who plays Feyd-Rautha, the Harkonnen prince who was memorably portrayed by Sting in the 1980s adaptation of Dune. Feyd-Rautha will be helping to bring about the collapse foreseen by another new character, Florence Pugh‘s Princess Irulan, daughter of Emperor Shaddam IV, portrayed by Christopher Walken.
We’re also interested to see how both ) Timothée Chalamet and Zendayas star's will continue to rise, with Chalamet not only starring in this film, but also looks ahead to playing Bob Dylan and Willy Wonka.

Part 1 isn’t the full movie and story and part 2 will have them believe it or not. Duhhh. And Slow motion in vision scenes!? emphasizing the importance of Chani to Paul’s overarching story omg 😱 how dare he use camera work to highlight importance instead of using tons of exposition!?

I never read the books so to me it seemed like a boring mad max.
I'm still not impressed with this adaptation as a longtime Frank Herbert fan. The first movie was visually stunning but very vacant, it had all the great special effects but no style or substance. It's like Denis Villeneuve had no idea what concepts he was trying to get across to the casual movie goer. First of all I think it's weird that they were trying to sell this film to the average person who goes to see movies in the theater because the way the story was presented someone who HAS NEVER read the Dune books(if you haven't GO AND READ THEM NOW, THEY BLOW THIS MOVIE OUT OF THE WATER) would be totally lost in the narrative and themes of this story because it's very intricate and epic. Denis Villeneuve I feel has no REAL LOVE for Dune as a true to the books franchise. Second of all -talk about HORRIBLE casting - Timothee Chalamet is the WORST Paul Atreides I've seen. Alec Newman(he played Paul in the best Dune adaptation there is out there: Syfy channel's "Frank Herbert's Dune" that came out in the early 2000's)will always be the only Paul Atreides to me. Kyle McLachlan was also a great Paul Atreides for the 1984 film. The main reason why I don't like Timothee as Paul is the actor is 90lbs soaking wet and his essence and acting aren't good though to portray someone as complex as Paul. James McAvoy played Paul's son Leto II in the Syfy channel miniseries sequel called "Frank Herbert's Children of Dune" in the mid 2000s. Everyone is cast in that adaptation perfectly. This miniseries was made before cable channel dramatic series were really becoming a huge thing that these companies (like Game Of thrones & Breaking Bad) would put HUGE amounts of money into financing so even tho it doesn't look at good as the new movie Dune adaptation it is way more true to Frank Herbert's vision and words.
If I wanted to read all that I'd just read the book again instead
the description in the book of Paul is the most accurate to Thimothee out of all the actors... and if you think he doesn't have good enough acting skills you are just plain out wrong. Did you see any of his movies? This adaptation is the best movie adaptation it could possibly be. In my opinion it matches the book pretty well I don't see how it could have done more in 2 hours 30 min. It would obviously be better if it was a series but as a movie you can't ask more from it. I went to watch it in cinemas with a friend who didn't even know the books existed and he LOVED the film. It's just a question of your personal taste ig
You have shitty opinion 😊 if there were an opposite word for “thank you,” I would say it to you ✨
Me when I'm a whiner and complainer
Thats why you are a nobody and he is an award winning producer....dumbass
