Great little vlog! What footwear did you paddle in? Looks like regular sneakers? Did you feet not get wet? Can imagine it’s not possible to dry out footwear once wet.. when exiting the board for beach stop are you feet in the water or you beach the board as much as possible and hop off the end? I’d wanna be doing this in neoprene boots and waterproof socks I think.
Hi, they were Gul Aqua grip SUP shoes which drain really easily they are awesome keep your feet warm and dry within minutes they worked perfectly even though the water temp was around 5 degree's.
Had it with me you can see it on the front of the board, I only wore it once when it was a little rough on Loch Ness, conditions were so good and I was never more than 50 meters from shore and obviously attached to a massive floatation device.
I have the same Starboard Touring board - love it. Did you take a pump with you, and did the pressure hold up throughout? Looks like you have a different fin to the stock one that came with the board.
Hi, yes I took the pump with me but pressure held up throughout. I used the stock 9" touring fin which is easy to take off when you get out on the beach as I don't like leaving it on with weight on the board.
Great video! Looking to do this trip and keep to north side of loch ness. Where did you stop to camp on loch ness? Looks like the little peninsula near Invermoriston
Hi thanks, yes you are correct just before the turning into Invermoriston there is a little beach which is one of the few places I was able to stop on Loch Ness. Have a good trip I loved every bit.
@@baldyboy007 thanks for that! Im looking forward to it and just planning on where to stay at the moment. Would you say the south side of the loch is better in terms of places to stay and exit points? Sorry for all the questions lol How many stops on ness dod you do and how long did it take to cross?
@@carwynhumphreys2491 I was hoping to go on Southside which does have more options for stopping but because of the wind ended on North side. There are not many spots to stop and even fewer that were any good for camping. I had a rest stop about 5 miles on to Loch Ness which was about 2 miles before Invermoriston where I spent the night then it was 12 miles before I stopped again just after Urquhart Castle which was for a snack stop before final 5 to end of Loch Ness. I think the South side would be better as it's not near the road so should have more stopping points.
Hi. Great video. Have you prepared somehow your SUP, for this trip, or this is just regular SUP? How about big waves in Loch Ness? Is it hard? We are planning to do similar journey next summer. Greatings from Lithuania... ;-)
Hi, it is just a standard touring ISUP. Loch Ness was a bit choppy in places but not too hard. If you ever Sup in the sea it is very similar to that but with less rise and fall.
Loved watching this thanks for sharing. I’ve just purchased a board once I have mastered it I’d love to do this ✌🏼
Thank you, enjoy your new board 😁
Well done , I done something similar on the Shannon river in Ireland , going across big lochs can be tough and dangerous. Keep supping 👍
Might want to wear a floatation vest or lifejacket 😮
nice trip, respekt😉

awesome well-done dude I really want to do this paddle looks like you did it in winter was that to avoid the midges?
Did it in April and yes I did choose then to avoid the midges. It was cold at night but not too bad during the day.
Hey how much was your taxi from Inverness?
The Taxi was £120 and took just over an hour.
No life vest ?
