- Yes, I’ve left Russia! Finally. In this vlog, I’m chatting about the whole situation in my life, showing you the trip and the Airbnb and taking you on a short walk.
After I’ve filmed the video, the situation at the airport of Amsterdam didn’t improve, and now Brian’s flight is even more delayed… We’re very frustrated but it is what it is. Hoping that next week, we’ll finally reunite. Because it’s just too many force majeure situations, we must have exhausted the limit!

the heater in the bathroom is there because probably there are no windows and the water vapors destroy the walls and helps dry the water in the air fast, because else mold would group on the walls and they would get black and deteriorated with time. :)

I feel for you.....The loss of parents-finalizing estate, Covid, marriage/complicated immigration, family and pet. I sponsored my husband from the U.K. which obviously has positive ties with Canada. It was a long challenging process and he too was harassed at the border. I cant imagine what you are going through given the current situation. Anyone questioning you and the length of process is obviously quite sheltered and ignorant to how things work in this world. You are a brave soul!!! Stay strong.

Dear Ana, I'm so happy that you have made it this far. Remember to make space for that sense of rootlessness. To make a major move like this is much like being a small cutting taken from a plant and put in water to root. You are nourished but it takes a while to grow new roots. Then it takes a while, to establish those roots in new soil. I encourage you to make space for the sadness of ending your known life as you begin your new life. We use both Cyrillic and Alphabet equally. We're the only country that does so, but all official documents must be in Cyrillic. This duality dates back to the time of Yugoslavia. And where the film crew went, you can see a small church in the background, with a blue/green roof - it's a Russian church.
This is a tragic story coupled with a love story that will become an amazing embrace between two people that have destroyed the divide. Hold fast you will be together soon!!❤

Dear Ana, it's so nice to see my beautiful Belgrade through your eyes as I haven't been there in seven years. There is a beautiful restaurant near kalamegdan, radost fina kuhanicija and you should go to Apropos for a tea or coffee to hang out with books and cats. It's also non smoking so very restful. I hope your time in Belgrade is very beautiful and relaxing.
Travelling alone as I reached my mid to late 30s became much harder psychologically for me as I thought so much about home and stability and my place in the world. Since then I have married and settled in New Zealand. I miss old friends and places I love in Europe and the US but there is goodness in being settled with my family.

@@anagoldberg yes we are😀☀️ my Siberian youtube friend is in the Balkans now. Summers are very hot here (heat waves)… Balkans has its own problems 😢 unfortunately but I’m sure this will not be your long term solution. We are meat lovers when it comes to eating habits so I hope you’ll not have too many problems when looking out for the places to eat. I’m vegetarian and I have to cook everything myself, finding non GMO soya is difficult here around my place.
The last time I was in Belgrade was 2006 so I don’t know whats the situation now food wise.

Edit, after watching video: I am glad for you the trip out and away from Russia is done with, at least physically. Be kind to yourself as I would think, despite how you might feel about things (government, etc.), there is grieving for you. I hope the next part of your journey, moving to another place and waiting on Brian, is easier and shorter. I'm not sure it makes much sense to give too much credence to those who would disparage others; my mother says, "You cannot know someone else's life until you walk in their shoes."
