Thank you for caring, but it doesn’t make any sense to rebuild those town without first figuring out what Ukrainian economy is going to be based on. Eastern Ukraine was a home to outdated Soviet time heavy industry which is mostly destroyed by now. People need to reside where they can have jobs and comfortable living conditions. It also depends on what amount of population we’ll end up with post war. Besides, some American academics maintain that Ukrainian demographics are so bad that we’re about to go extinct in just a few generations. I hope they’re wrong…

I'm a 75 year old American living in Kherson through out the war and I am following American politics very closely relative to robust support for Ukraine. And there's some good news that is not covered. There's a number of Republicans in Congress who have a perfect record of support for Ukraine like my Congressman, Chris Smith from the 4th congressional district in New Jersey. I'm confident that America will come through but we are just SO slow. If I didn't believe that I would not still be in Kherson. Great interview. Keep up the good work, both of you.

Excellent interview! Always great to listen to his prospective and your good questions. Sometimes the truth is hard for some people to hear, but it is what it is. I am ashamed of my government and the GOP tying aid for Ukraine to US border policy, which has been flawed for my entire life. Yes, our border issues need immediate attention, but attaching aid for Ukraine to that issue is disgusting and so very shameful. Ukrainian people, civilian and military alike are paying with their lives every day. Sickens me. Thank you for promoting the awareness of what is happening on a daily basis to force conversations about this issue to the forefront!

Another superb discussion Jonathan! Thank you! And thank you to Operator Starsky too!
FWIW, one of the points that really stood out for me was Operator Starsky suggesting that one of the most effective ways to counter Russian hybrid warfare & its campaigns of misinformation conducted through influencers in the west would be to educate the pubic re Russian tactics, strategies & key enablers.
FWIW, I really believe that two things need to happen. First, non-Ukrainian 'experts' need to call out these influencers for what they are & challenge them in the open regarding what is truth & what is not. Second, I am absolutely sure that there a number of agencies (government or otherwise) which continually follow the flow of money around the world, and determine where the 'dark money' originates & where it is headed. It would surprise me if this was something the Ukrainians have observed & analyzed in depth for many years, especially in light of the anti-corruption work that has gone on in Ukraine over the last decade. Regardless of where the info comes from, IMHO, it is imperative that well-researched & thoroughly-understood pathways between Russian oligarch/Putin money and key influencers/politicians/media outlets in 'the West' have their cloaks pulled off in the light of day. Certainly there have been rumours & accusations regarding dark Russian money & certain politicians in the U.S.A....why not organize a campaign to put the specifics of these sorts of connections out into the open on a regular basis?
Now, of course I totally understand how doing so would trigger one sh*tstorm after another, which in-turn would probably lead to threats of/actual lawsuits & other weapons of the rich/powerful/infuential being brought to bear on those who reveal 'uncomfortable truths', therefore I am certainly not suggesting that independent media personalities, or YT podcasters/vloggers lead the charge. Instead, this would best come from the Ukrainian media, government, academics (..whoever has sufficient protection from the 'weapons of the rich/powerful/influential'...), and then 'smaller fish' in the traditional/mainstream media, on social media platforms, etc could report on these stories, with the hope that individual citizens will spread the word from there.
Overall...practical details aside...I view Operator Starsky's recommendations re shining the light on Putin's enablers in 'the West' (..via "follow the money" conversations..) to be an absolute must, if pro-democracy, pro-Ukraine folks are to see Russian propaganda, misinformation campaigns & political destabilization initiatives rendered ineffective!

An outstanding video as always. On your discussion regarding Russian disinformation it occurred to me you might consider interviewing Ryan McBeth. He is a specialist in information warfare, among other things, and I believe could contribute some useful insights. On Russia moving south, one should remember that Russia isn't the only country interested in exerting influence in the region. Turkey, for example, is cultivating relations with the other Turkic peoples of central Eurasia, such as the Kazakhs. Additionally Iran, India and China all have interests in the region. Kipling's "Great Game" comes to mind, and while not all of these countries are friends, there are situations where the interests of not-friends might align. Slava Ukraini! 💙💛

4:10 The Muscovites relentlessly assaulted Marinka several times a day since 2014, which curious fact makes this battle the longest one in modern history, along with the same long battles of Ovdějevka and Peski, effectively declassing the infamous Battle of Verdun about nine times.

Southern Ukraine was infested by the Muscovite migrants shipped to there in order to replace the Ukrainians murdered in three genocides of 1921, 1932 and 1946, so up to a third of population could theoretically be thankful or dancing in hell for that. If their heavily intoxicated and indoctrinated Muscovite minds could feel anything at all.

The Russians "liberated" the large city of Mariupol in a few months.
The Russians "liberated" the small city of Bakhmut in 8 months.
The Russians "liberated" the tiny town of Mariinka in 22 months.
The scale of Russian "victories" are declining...

It seems to me that Ukraine is never ever gonna stop denying Russia any "significant" gain of territory and the USA, UN, EU (NATO) is never ever gonna dry out their aid. Ukraine seems to have found a "sustainable" way to respond and stop Russian aggression. Congratulations for the minds behind it all. Slava Ukraine

@@FrankWichert-c4vseems like the Leopard 2 tanks are not suited to muddy frontline combat in Ukraine and are being used as artillery pieces. I assume it's like other NATO tanks designed to have a long logistics chain with spare parts, not meant to be repairable in the field.
Maybe the Abrams with its turbine engine would do better in the mud, but they need more protection or the FPV drones will find the weak spots.
