I don’t know if you have had an occasion where you had a power issue but, 27 days after I had mine installed, I had an outage. Didn’t even know it happened except for the clocks blinking due to the 30 second reaction time of the transfer switch!! Lol had to walk to the end of the house to see if the genny was running! BEST investment I have made in a while! Thanks for your videos! I plan on servicing it myself!
I see this is 9byears ago but do you by chance know what size that drain hose plug is? I do maintenance on these things all the time and I'm tired of inserting the hose, ive tried 3/8 which is too large and 1/4 is too small, I guess it's not the standard size for my brass fittings, im propane gas installer.
I don't have it anymore. I think an adjustable pliers type tool was fine. No need much pressure when tightening, just need a little, as oil not under pressure. Thanks for joining us, I appreciate people like you that work so hard.
silverbankruptcy for God sake why you did a maintenance to this generator with only two months of use? 🤷♂️🤔. Do you have happen to have a power outage in your neighborhood every week? Ok If it’s was because the generator was in the breaking process then yes you need to make the first oil change after the first 20 hours, to keep all the internals of the engine clean of any metal shavings, but by any means you have to change the air filter neither the spark plugs. My local Champion dealer who sold and serviced different brands of standby gas generators told me they can last for over 1,000 hours of use before they needed to get replaced. In fact he told me if we have a small air compressor in our garage we just need to blow the filter with pressurized and can last for ever. Remember this are stationary equipment so the debris and dust they get inside the air filter is minuscule.
Trouble codes are to be expected. Cold weather can cause failure to start etc. You can work on it but mostly all you need to do is to lubricate the throttle assembly and steeper motor and change the oil.

At the time, I wanted to replace the plugs with long lasting and better sparking platinum spark plugs which work better to ignite less flammable natural gas, that's why I did it. On my 4 cylinder GM engine in my generator, I am more fearful of messing with it, so I will leave it stock. See my other generator videos, and Thanks!
Thank you for listing the actual part number… you rock!
I Try to help. See My 35KW Generator Video, I list a whole Bunch of parts. Thank You for Joining us!

Yes had them as well. Same good feeling of not losing food in the fridge!
Nice to not be dependent on others.
So glad to hear from you!
Thanks. Now I can do my own tune up on the engine
Rafael Camilo Great! That's exactly why I put up the video. No need to hire an expert.

An rare-earth magnet on the oil filter for an aluminum engine?
Good Point.
The Block is itself Aluminum, but parts of the engine are either aluminum covered steel, or plain steel.

Cast iron sleeved cylinders sir! Kinda good idea!
I dont have a small enough oil filter wrench to get it off. Since I didn't see it done on your video is it possible you just don't change the filter?
What if you have a “trouble code?”
Does B&S let you work on it yourself?

What type of spark plug part number did he uses? I couldn't catch it since I don't hear very well. Thanks!

silverbankruptcy Thank you very much! Appreciated it.
Why on earth wouldn't have changed the oil filter?
I do, Once a year I change the Oil and the Filter. see the video. I don't have this generator anymore, but always changed the oil.
My generator start but get off in 5 second
ok, What specific Generator is it and What error are you receiving. Also if you restart it Manually, Same Error?
Why are you doing a tuneup on the generator that you just got a few months ago?

not a good video
All the camera movement makes me sea sick!
Worst camera work. Really frustrating to view.
