Virtual Press Conference Calling on President Biden to Create HR-40 Commission by Executive Order

- Recorded July 21, 2022 - Representative Sheila Jackson Lee and the HR-40 Strategy Group held a news conference calling on President Joe Biden to issue an Executive Order creating the HR-40 Commission. The Commission would be responsible for examining the Transatlantic Slave Trade and slavery and past and present injustices carried out against African Americans. The Commission would also produce and recommend remedies to the negative effects caused by past discriminatory institutions. The news conference was MC’d by Dr. Ron Daniels, convenor of the National African American Reparations Commission.

reason why I may seem angry, is because my grandfather had land which the government wanted to take to build highways. My grandfather was beaten by the KKK and tied to a chair and burned alive and land taken signed over to a white racist who stolen the land and made money, where is my family reparation for this action. No police to report crime too because the police were part of the local Klan. This why I am angry, where is my grandfather justice.
You guys are part of the problem. Congress is approving another 45 billion dollars in aid for Ukraine this weekend. I don't what yal strategy is but it's clearly ineffective. I feel yal are fishing for , benefits, and salaries not actual reparations for black Americans.
