I would have loved to see their reactions to each other's route after each round. i saw it live and I thought that was one of the most interesting things.
The trackmania community never cease to amaze me with their creativity. The fact that someone made the map editor into a puzzle competition is so crazy. Imagine Nadeo making puzzles like that, that slowly gives you new blocks and tools like free place to teach people how to use the editor.
This is a super cool idea for a competition, I love that it combines driving skills with mapping skills all in a little puzzle. Can't wait to see the finals
This comp is such a fun creative expression, and it's so cool to see the process at work. Gut instinct -> get messy in the kitchen -> notice pain points -> improve -> iterate -> tasty meal
@@BuckleysPantsThat's very reasonable. I couldn't help but feel like a part of the storyline was missing, but sounds like you made a conscious decision based on the footage and I respect that👍🏼

Not only did you find the best overall route for the puzzles, you found the best storyline in the edit bay as well. Sammi you deserve the world for beating Grenady or whatever that guys name is....
The TrackMania community really comes up with the coolest ideas for competitions. I only play and watch TrackMania since the Deep Dip 2 hype this summer, and had so much fun since then.
Trackmania Puzzle was a gamemode included in Trackmania's first game in the series in 2003. It's a very cool gamemode idea for a racing game, sad that it's been gone from the game series since 2010.
Wirtual thanks for bringing this game into my world. I've only been playing a few weeks and I've made top 5th north carolina on the new fall campaign map #4
I think it would be very interesting to do a challenge like this, but instead of competing for yhe fastest time, you compete for completing while using the least amount of blocks.
Came here for the classic puzzle mode and I am confused by the block mixing haha. We've come a long way... I wonder if doing this without mixing would be interesting, or would the solutions be obvious right away. I remember original puzzles being quite tough though.
incredible that granadyy lost because sami sniped him in the last second of last round, leading to a tiebreaker rule between granadyy and tekky, like that is absolutely down to the wire and diabolical on sami's part. he couldn't win but he took granadyy down with him
@@nickreich1, ah, that makes sense then. I know that Wirtual had mentioned it on a few vids but it's daft for me to assume you've watched what I've watched.
Wait, the score board at the end shows 13 points for wirtual, meaning that he got 5 in the last map, meaning he won. So his last run must have pb'ed. So why does the video not show it?!
The correct strategy in this competition would be to not place any time on the leader board at all until the end. Just end the run right before the finish line on every test run. Why give your opponents any information about your progress? If your opponent has a 14 seconds solution that sits on the top on the leaderboard and you have a secret 13 second solution, your opponent may just try to improve their driving, giving you the win. If you publish your 13 second time, then your opponent will know that their solution isn't good enough and will instead try to improve their solution, which may cost you the win.
The first issue with that approach is you actually need to deliver. Imagine you have a route ready (ignoring that that's already a challenge) and you don't drive it. You let the time run until a minute and start driving. Then you choke under the pressure. Congrats, no time for you. Second issue, you sit on your route and suddenly everyone has times that are faster than yours. Good luck remapping everything. Third issue, if that strat was good, everyone would be doing it. Now issue 2 is even worse, you wouldn't even know how good or bad you are. At this point you might at well not make times public so people can at least drive in peace. Not only is this strategy flawed, it would hinder part of the competitive idea behind it. No attack or anything, you just wrote so much that I couldn't help but think it through. (Oh yea, if you meant it as "drive the time but don't publish it to the others", that ain't possible, the moment you pass finish, the time is automatically placed on the leaderboard)
@@angrypicture6155 Of course it would be stupid to just sit on your route until one minute before the end. But during the first 3/4 every player is driving runs that they know for sure will not be their final time. They are driving test runs to check how fast their current route is and screening for possible improvements. I'm saying it would be better to not finish these runs. Just press reset right before the finish line. Also, your argument that if this were a good idea, everyone would already be doing it doesn't convince me. This competition is not competitive and optimized enough yet to have settled into the optimal meta.
i feel like that's just kinda.. inconvenient, less interesting to watch (bearing in mind they're doing this for content as well as for the comp itself) & kinda just.. against the spirit of the competition. all for what's realistically a very slim advantage
I would have loved to see their reactions to each other's route after each round. i saw it live and I thought that was one of the most interesting things.
