    Love your videos. I'm going to start growing plams in Salt Lake City Utah, where I'm from. They have Washingtonia filiferas that grow out in the open on the bottom south west corner of the state and I have always admired them.

    Great video! Just one question how long (days) do your palms live in the box ? 90, 100, 120 ?

    What do you use for thermometers? I have accurite and playing with them I noticed the closest one will get picked up by both receivers and wondered what to use for several palms?

    Thanks for the video. Do you only insulate two sides? Or did you remove two sides for demonstration? And what do you do for venting?

    • @TheJames2929
      @TheJames2929  4 роки тому +1

      Chris Johnson I insulate all the sides and I do not have ventilation I open them up probably once or twice throughout the winter to let some fresh air in and look at them I also make sure that I do not have the foam too tight so it cannot breeze I leave gaps everywhere but all the connections of the panels not large but just enough to let some air in

    I would assume on warm days that you open the box?

    Nice video. It seems like a lot of effort for very little return. Also, what do you do when they get too big?

      Aman Basanti It’s not very much work it takes about half an hour to one hour per tree I find it very rewarding to say screw to mother nature every spring when everyone’s grass is dead. I have beautiful palm trees. And I have one tree that has over 16 feet currently so It can’t really get too big you just give up on wanting to protect it and then you can start all over again

      @@TheJames2929 hahah I like that, a screw you to mother nature. From this point I wholeheartedly agree. I've seen many bottle / coconut / etc. palms in offices in cooler koppen climates (Canada/Sweden/Norway), I always wondered how the heck they manage root growth.
