You’re very gifted! Thank you for sharing this. I looked it up as my Mom passed and of year 2022 & a dear friend said she sang this so well. We’ve not had a funeral, family so far apart & broken. God knows it all. Loved this & will share. I subscribed as I love what I hear. Love to hear the old hymns my parents sang.
This was my paternal grandmother's favorite song. We use to sing it in church every now and then. She would have loved to have heard this version, but she died in the late summer of 1980 when I was a senior in highschool. Since my dad died a little over a year ago, I think a lot more about my Granny and all of the others who have now gone on. This made me homesick for all of them--- really homesick. . .
Many years ago our pastor sang this song. I just started thinking about it and searched for it. You have sung it so beautifully! I love your voice! Thank you so much!!!
This is a strange thing to say, but I want to thank you for making this cover. This was my dad's favorite hymn, and he always told us that at his funeral he wanted this sang. I promised him that I would be the one to sing it, and when he passed away in 2021, I fulfilled my promise. I couldn't find a good backing musical track for myself, however, and then I stumbled across this video. You gave me a perfect framework to sing it a'capella. And ever so often I come back here and listen to it again when I think of him. So again, thank you for this cover.
Hey! I got a mention in this song! wooo! Well, sorta. I am mortal, but my spirit is destined to the promised land. Well done again on this one, I know a person's own voice should harmonize with itself, but this goes beyond that. Easy listening, and having the words (never seen his hymn before) started singing along right away. :-)
Thanks! Actually my Dad and brother are also named Ken. Haha! When I sing this song live, I use the word "care" instead of ken since nobody would understand it. Here I could just define it in the captions.
Michael thank you for uploading this hymn. As a life long church of christ member I have no idea how I have never heard this hymn but it is beautiful. I cannot find the choral music for it anywhere online but I would love to bring a copy to church whenever we get to meet again and teach it to the congregation. Do you know where I could find it or would you make it available on your site like some others I saw? Thanks again and God bless
@@MichaelLiningMusic That was a strange comment of mine. I meant well, your vocals were in such harmony in this vid that the resonance was clear, like a fine-tuned instrument.

Its in Majesty Hymns - which is the book I used for this video.
Learned a new word. Bonus, it's my name.
Michael's voice range is commendably wide. It has to be in the region of three octaves.
GLAD is WAY COOLER! 👌

You sound like a human harmonica!
