    You should turn this show into the Top Gear of guitars. Just an idea. Use the format of what Top Gear use. Have guests. Travel places- Historical guitars, music etc.; Do what James May, Clarkson and Hammond do in Top Gear, just with guitars as the theme. You two guys are awesome and i really think your personalities are perfect for a Top-Gear esk show. You already kinda do it with your review/fun events style format. You should just make the episodes longer and more premium. Think of some grand ideas and do them! For example as an idea, Travel to tennessee and discover the historical aspects of the music industry there. In between (like top gear), demo new guitars like you do now, in your studio (like top gear). Have Guests. The more your show grows, you will get more prestige guests. It will really make this show exciting and move towards the mainstream. There is such a huge audience for this! This could be the hub for guitarists, the main place to go to get the latest news in the guitar industry but in an entertaining way! where you can kick back and relax. You guys basically have it, i just think you need to conceptualise the shows a bit more. Organise the format a bit. Do a series. "Cap and Chappers: Series 1, episode 3"?? You can always keep doing what you're doing in between shows, but the main thing for your channel should be this show in my opinion.
    You already have the community and all the right vibes that come with it, so build it. Make a format for these shows. Take these "low budget youtube shows" and turn them into full TV programs. It not like you don't have the money or brains between you. Think, theres such a huge audience for this show! You already have the fun factor between you both, you have the products to sell. With some good thinking, you guys could make something great!
    I just can't wait to see "Cap and Chappers" in Texas or something, shooting guitars or whatever (Lol, i dont have a good idea on hand. If i think of one, i'll comment it on here.). Cap and Chappers Build a Guitar? Cap and Chappers Find the worlds most bizarre guitars-Most expensive-Most beautiful. IDK. But some greater minds than my own could probably think of some great things!!
    Just imagine watching Cap and Chappers play acoustically together in like a really beautiful place on earth, say Yosemte in california. OMG! It would be beautiful to watch. Or! Even in a really beautiful place in the UK! PLay guitar at Stone Henge ot something :) I think you both already have a strong connection when you play and so being in Yosemite or somewhere nice or musically rich would just bring out some great music for this show. if you record a simple acoustic session in a place like that, it would just be great TV! like imagine the different vibes that would come from your music!
    You could use it to promote Dorje too! Add live performances to it maybe. Have a weekly music feature/highlight where one of your favourite new artists play a ten minute set at the end (@ say 45:00in). give something to our music culture in the UK!!
    Ohh, the bigger better format would mean.. More viewers, a closer tv like direction heading towards the mainstream which means more customers for the shop, for your guitar company, chapman Guitars. More $$$ which in return can be pumped back into making this show bigger and better in everyway!
    Ps. "Cap and Chappers"

      You want them to take on a 3rd member of the cast (presumably a lot shorter) start to hate each other and then start acting up to what they perceive is their public persona and become crap insulting as many foreign nations as possible on the way?

      Can't agree more with you on the Top Gear thing... that much I read (sorry for that). Also have to mention that Captains playing has improved ALOT! (maybe its about having the confidence to play your best) But anyway I really like these vids and have been watching them for so many items I have bought to get an idea whats the thing for me. Keep it up!

      If you're going to honou him, add a little '100' to the proper logo, don't mess with it, no matter how authentic it is to the man, because to the guitar, it isn't authentic

    • @hughtubecube
      @hughtubecube 9 років тому

      Deathrape2001 I doubt it, the logos are the same in terms of material and application - they are both decals, neither are inlays. So they'll be pretty much the same cost.
      Edit:
      In fact, they'd probably lose money in paying their R+D department to create the new logo and print the decals, instead of just using the old ones they would have had lying around.

    Just got to say that although not technically brilliant, Lee Anderton is a fantastic blues guitarist with such a good ear for nice sound. He has a great a sense of time and position when making his simple but effective improv solos. You could go as far and say that Lee makes more pleasant sounding music than Rob when it comes to improvisation, in my opinion. Also, what a cool pair of guys! Genuinely nice people as well as genuine, authentic musicians!

    Let me preface this by saying I'm a big fan, and have been watching for a few years now. However, I can't help but notice that your videos have slowly evolved from the two of you goofing around, telling anecdotes, and presumably being yourselves, to what is seemingly rushing through the videos to get done. I think what made the two of you so endearing was the personal touch, giving us all a peek into your lives, and also that watching your videos felt like you were just having a hang with a few buddies that loved gear as much as yourself. Now it seems as if it's "Here is this guitar, a few sounds, and if you want to know more, go watch our other video on it". I'm sure that you all are extremely busy with the success of Chapman Guitars (big congrats!), and the continued growth of Anderton's, but I'm sure that I'm not alone when I say that I would love to see more videos that aren't just trying to sell something and move on to the next product. We know that selling gear is your livelihood, and ultimately the purpose of the videos. However, I believe that your comradery, approachability and natural gregariousness were the original catalyst for your youtube success, and a platform I'm sure a lot of us would like to see both of you return to. Love what you do and hope for the continued success of Anderton's and exponential growth for Chapman Guitars.
    Cheers!

    • @SugarwoIf
      @SugarwoIf 9 років тому +4

      I agree completely. I think the biggest reason for the rushing vibe is because they do all of the videos for a whole month one right after the other for two days in a row. It does feel less personal than it did before and I kind of miss seeing Lee's old white Strat, but at least the format they're using is still pretty informative about the products. Personally, I would rather see fewer but longer videos like they used to be where they go off on tangents and such.

    • @busyend
      @busyend 9 років тому

      I agree with Brandon and Sugarwolf totally... AND.... Rob, please burn that damn shirt or ask the viewers for donations for the Salvation Army thrift store for a new T-shirt.

      @jameslewis2635 9 років тому

      Avalanche1368
      Since they usually shoot about 3 videos in a day, that will let us track the order of the videos far more easily:
      1) The bottle is full and they are sober.
      2) The bottle is down halfway and they are looking a bit wobbly.
      3) The bottle is empty, the Captain has been sick down the back of a Marshall cab and Chappers has forgotten how to play guitar.

      Robbie Height It can be argued that because Led Zeppelin were some of the first pioneers of heavy metal, the Les Paul was actually the first guitar associated with that hard rock/metal sound. Or even the telecaster as Page liked to use them too. The SG really surfaced in hard rock music when Black Sabbath got popular, around 1970

    I've never been an SG fan but I was able to play the 2015 Standard and for me and my average size hands there is just something so playable about the wider neck; the SG felt perfect in my hands. Beats me why this is but it's just my experience.

    I just bought a used 2015 mint condition standard for a decent price. I was skeptical about the gforce tuner because I am kind of a "purist". It works so well and with the splitting coils, raisable nut, and wider neck it is definitely the most fun of my guitars to play. Sounds so good it made me a believer.

  • @HShawnWilson
    @HShawnWilson 9 років тому

    LOVE the new nut.. makes them adjustable from both ends.. such WICKED sweet low buzz free action.. AND the G-Force tuning system ROCKS!!
    Just a quick touch and it zips back into perfect tune..hassle free..and 500% quicker and easier than doing it manually! Wide neck is a bit much but I love this guitar more than any I've ever had!

    That's basically my rig. '62 reissue SG, few to no pedals right into a Fender amp in my case. Great classic sound, control the dirt with my fingers and the guitar volume pot. I got mine for the neck and the Sound. The neck is like a great pair of legs... they go all the way up... '62 has that thin wide neck with the very streamlined almost non-existent heel. I love it. Great for bottleneck too.

      It's called innovation, and most of these things are improvements. Brass nut makes it slightly brighter, the tuner is easier than using even a foot tuner and there has been a massive improvement to quality. Stop being an old person from the old times and get with the new times.

    I actually just ordered an Epiphone G-400 SG Ltd. Edition in Silverburst. They usually retailed for 350-400 USD, but got my used for 189.99 USD.

    I know 7 Les Paul 2015 players who've had to replace the brass nuts within months due to extreme wear and actual flaking. Gibson did honor all of them and sent titanium replacements...haven't heard any updates.

    Ok, so bought my first Gibson. It's the 2015 SG Special that no one apparently like so...............what the hell..... I like it.
    Love the wide neck, Like the O fret nut,,, tuner is...........not so cool but what the helll. Think it's good that they took a step to new tech. this may not be the one but they tried. Much better as an option than force feeding. Should improve with time.
    So I'm loving mine. Will most likely change the tuners but so far I can live with it.
    Can't for the life of me figure out why anyone would worry about the inscription, or the hologram. Kinda non issues to me. I can certainly understand why some would not like the extra width on the neck. For me it's a good thing but again I can see why others would not like it.
    Nice review.

      S Hogan yup I have a 2015 SG standard, I won’t deny that the neck is defiantly wider but it still does feel great with a slim taper radius. I also have a 2016 slim taper profile les Paul and I always go for my SG to play.

    The guitar I learned on is an Epiphone SG and I'm saving up for a Gibson SG. I love the look of the Les Paul but the necks are so hard to play. I love my SG.

    I love SG's because they're like Les Pauls (of which I love the tone) but that I also love to play (aside from the axcess). And yeah it takes a bit of getting used to the neck being an extra inch or two away

    I have the 2014 SG standard, and it's awesome.. I would like to play with he brass nut to see how more versatile it is. I was very skeptical of the tuning system, but I've come to love it.. When playing live it's easy to push a. Button to get into tune or quickly change tuning is great. I'd even considered retro fitting my less Paul BFG with the min e-tune or newer system. Oh and by the way, huge fan of the vids.

    I love my 2008 SG Special. Super love it. No gloss, just that lovely oil sorta finish. Got a Warpig in the bridge, but I am thinking of going Seymour Duncan when I have the money. Nazgul and Sentient. I am curious as to how they'll sound in my SG, as it has a mixed reputation with very heavy tones.
    Quick question for Chappers or The Captain, regarding frets. I really did fall head over heels in love with my SG when I first played it, and I still view it as my favourite instrument, however if there were one thing I could change it would be for some extra jumbo frets. What are your opinions on refretting instruments? Especially ones you love the feel of, but want to improve that little bit more to bring it maybe a touch more in line with your tastes and desires?
    Have a good one, chaps!

    Chappers!! My next guitar is going to be a Chapman. The guitar shop I go to is very interested if getting your guitars. They are JamPro Music Factory in Reno, Nevada, USA. I just had them install some Seymour Duncan Alnico Slash pickups in my 2013 Gibson LPJ. I talked to them about Chapman Guitars when I dropped it off and when I went to pick up the guitar today they had done the research and are very interested in carrying your guitars. Way cool!!! I told them I will buy the first Chapman Guitar if they can do it. You should definitely call them and make that happen! Monkey Lord Minion signing out!
