Hi everyone Is There a Good Overwatch Story timeline to watch? so i can understand the lore of the game more?
A lot of UA-camrs make timelines using both the lore from the cinematics as well as the overwatch comics (which I've heard are good). The most up to date ones should be any that came out after the Kiriko cinematic.

Just a little funny fact
The cowboy's name used to be Jesse McCree, he was named after a guy who worked at Blizzard that was exposed for being a creep last year, so they renamed his character to Cole Cassidy, or just Cassidy for short. Also, the robot lady he saves is Echo! She was the last character released for the game before they started working on Overwatch 2 back in 2020.

@@garymcjerry In one of his in-game lines, Hanzo says he was even better with a sword then he is with a bow. He just swore to never use a sword again after killing Genji. That fight might’ve gone differently
Sigma is actually really nice, talon manipulated him because he was unstable, sombra looks after him and protects him from talon
Mhmm. He's really just mentally unstable. Think it's Solider or Cole that has a voice line with him asking him "don't you see old man? Talon is using you!" And Sigma spaces off and doesn't even hear. So he's really just interested in his own work i feel like. Less extreme than Moira may be but still obsessed
seeing Sigmas origin story always gives me chills. that man is like seeing the universe in a way no one else can comprehend, and its frightening
Moira as can be seen in her cinematic is the one who turned Reaper into what he is in the game
She's also the same person who's responsible for turning Widowmaker blue.

Kiriko’s mother taught the two sons of Sojiro Shimada everything they know about using a sword.
As Kiriko’s mother taught Hanzo and Genji, Kiriko tagged along to their lessons and also learned how to fight herself.

the cutscenes are from previous Overwatch 1 Events where you could play different story missions, they might come back during Ow 2 Events as well!
The cowboys voice actor is actually the same as jotaros in the dub and in the dub jotaro says “it’s high noon” in the scene where he kills dio which is the same thing McCree says when he uses his ultimate

everyone seems to forget that Junkrat and Roadhog have their own animated cinematic as well. :( it's so good and funny.

Hey don, just wanted to let you know that you didn't watch all of the origin stories for each character. They're really great at giving you a good backstory for every character and I highly recommend checking them all out. One of my favorites definetely was solider 76's simply because of how he tragically lost his reputation of a great hero but not he hides his identity with his new suit (the one you saw in the animated short, hero.) as the whole world believes he died from the bombing of overwatch's headquarters. Side note: you have seen all the animated shorts dw

2 of the 3 new characters, Sojourn and Junker Queen, are available for everybody, while Kiriko is only free for returning Overwatch 1 players. If you're a new player, you've either got to unlock her at level 55 of the battle pass, or instantly unlock her once you buy the premium battle pass.
Reading about the Battle pass just makes me so uncomfortable. People pretend it's better than redboxes but at least those could be free cuz the first game would give you 20 of em for no reason a week by playing
@@magortom That's the point, they would give you them for free because the game was already paid. Since there's no revenue coming from game sales, they had to make another system because paid loot boxes would be as bad, if not worse, than overwatch gacha.
Only because I'm too lazy to read all comments... but the guy from Kiriko's story ("I'm going to call for back up!") was the same guy that got his phone destroyed in Hanzo's video. That is all. :)
The bit in the Kiriko trailer where the little girl starts freaking out and screaming is so unpredictable that, even though I've seen it like 10 times, I always forget it's coming because the fight scene is so much fun. And it's always a good laugh.
Fun fact about Sigma! He suffers from Schizophrenia and Talon (Guy who is the villain and is leader of blackwatch) uses that to his advantage.
He believes the world is singing to him when in his mind a melody is playing.
Tbh is a very wholesome character despite how manic he seems.

Black watch was sort of like the black ops version of overwatch they were like a secret division of overwatch comprised of Cassidy Reaper Moira and genji

Sigma isn't exactly schizophrenic his mind is all over the place and suffers from split personality disorder
I know this is 5 months ago but in case you didn't know, Talon is not a person, it's a criminal organisation led by Doomfist, blackwatch was a special black ops version of overwatch with reaper cassidy moira and genji before overwatch split up, hence why reaper is still agent reyes as it happened before moira tested on him to the point that he became what he is now, genji's cybernetics are rudimentary, cassidy still has both arms and moira is not with talon. It was after blackwatch disbanded that reaper and moira joined talon after moira was kicked out of overwatch and I believe agent reyes was presumed dead. Sigma doesn't necessarily suffer from schizophrenia it is more that being that close to an unstable black hole completely broke his mind and caused his personality to split. Sigma has good intentions but is being brainwashed and manipulated by talon so they can use his power (able to control gravity and create mini black holes that he can control). I believe Moira is the one mainly doing the brainwashing
Just so u know. the side characters like Efi Oladele (the maker of orisa) usually get added later in the game like soujurn, she was in 28:18 and she got added about 3-5 years later
You did miss the origin stories for Kiriko and Sojourn, though they are each fairly short
Sigma's story is quite confusing but basically he faced a black hole and it failed causing him to have 4 minds in one and he goes crazy. when he says "what is that melody?" he means there is a random melody playing over and over again causing him great agony as he doesnt know where its from and it drives him even more mad because he cant stop hearing it

The in-game cinematics were part of a few event Co-op missions. You've seen one in the last video (Uprising), and two in this (Retribution and Storm Rising). Uprising was about Tracer's first mission as an Overwatch agent, taking down the Null Sector robot terrorists in London. Retribution is about Blackwatch taking out the Talon member/businessman, and fucking things up for Overwatch. Storm Rising is about capturing Maximilien, the robot, and member of the Talon terrorist organization to which Reaper, Doomfist, Sombra, Widowmaker etc. also belong. IIRC, Overwatch wanted the location of Doomfist, who they then captured as seen in Doomfist's origin cinematic.

McCree was named after one of those guys, so they changed his name to Cole Cassidy in Overwatch 2.

Those are events game modes, short co-op missions which are based on upcoming PVE story mode for OW2 (2023)
1:01:43 Kiriko has a Kitsune fox spirit attached to her, granting her these powers like her grandmother. In Japanese lore, Kitsune love sweets, hence the diet of donuts. Her mother's comment was pointed at the fox spirit that's protecting Kiriko. The red donuts are 100% sweet red bean paste btw, a favorite in Japan and a favorite of Kitsune.
Also in Japanese lore it was common for Kitsune to shapeshift into humans and take human husbands and have families. They're tricksters by nature, but will aide and benefit the good hearted and punish those who cross them.
Zero Hour is the greatest one, I remember playing overwatch at the time and it literally came out of nowhere and it also announced overwatch 2 I was so surprised and I watched like a bunch of videos on overwatch lore afterwards, it was a great time
The guy who wants to call for backup in the Kiriko video is the same one who ran into the bell after Hanzo shot his phone, hence his missing teeth.
Also Kiriko's mother trained both Hanzo and Genji.

It's also speculated that Moira is the one who brainwashed Widowmaker into murdering her husband and turned her into a cold blooded killing machine.
She wasnt with talon yet when that happened, i believe. Based on what we know about moira's timeline, it doesnt line up. She would still be in Blackwatch at the time of Gerard's death.
@@jiopa Widowmaker wasn't turned into the "spider" assassin with the slowed heartbreak until later after she murdered Gerard. Moira didn't have to join talon after gerard's assassination to have any impact on Widowmaker.
