Great watches guys!! One main thing that I would much prefer on this watch, would be a butterfly clasp strap instead of the big clunky micro adjusting strap. Although it serves as a purpose, the folding clasp is simply to large. Maybe taking inspiration from the TAG HEUER CARRERA DATE; as this watch offers a unique strap design with the Fine-Brushed/Polished links. I know the watch is more expensive but if you guys where able to offer a simple watch style (like the TAG HEUER CARRERA DATE) by taking inspiration from in - not exactly copying it. Then it would be great to see your company’s take on that style of watch. (Your ‘C63 Sealander Automatic‘ watch would looks great with this strap and further polished design.) but maybe if it had a potentially longer power reserve and a 38mm watch size along with amazing the 36mm. In short though if you could reduce the size of the clasp on this watch then it would be incredible, along with adding some nice touches of polished and brushed parts 👍
Thank you for your video. It was very helpful in my decision to purchase the Sandhurst in which I’ve done today. Looking forward to it arriving shortly. Very exciting.
I've just received my C65 Sandhurst Series 2 and have got to say I love it. The dimensions are perfect for my wrist and the quality is amazing. I resisted the Series 1 as the logo and look didn't quite do it for me and went for the Bremont Broadsword instead. But this Series 2 is a winner and even more gratifying for me as an ex-Officer Cadet and then Instructor at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst - a watch with a real personal connection for me. 10/10 Great video BTW and one which brought this piece to my attention - so thanks to you @12and60
Thanks to your video I was able to make one of the best decisions I’ve made when coming to a brilliant timepiece. Thank you so much and keep the wonderful videos coming.
I'm absolutely loving so many of CW's new releases. Their design and dimensions are amazing. And they finally started using the twin flags logo on the dials
I absolutely love this timepiece. I am so pleased with the fit and finish the styling is just absolutely perfect. If you’re on the fence or looking for a fabulous watch, I suggest you definitely look at Christopher Ward. You will find something that you will love.
I usually view watch hands as well designed chess pieces. They don't necessarily need to match but rather compliment each other! I think they made the hour hand so different for legibility and matching the rest of their watch lines. This watch is a serious Wishlist item!
I agree , I’ve had the smiths W10 reinterpreted version in the guise of the smiths military prs29a mk1 and 2 by timefactors and while they are executed well the handset was hard to distinguish sometimes as they almost look the same except in length (barely a difference imo)
I really like the new logo! I just discovered Christopher ward and their name on their older models just didn’t look right and was to much. The lack of all the text has made me much more interested in purchasing one in the future.
@@tancreddehauteville764 I think it makes it look modern and fresh without taking away from the brand. If the name was shorter it probably would be ok but the font and the length makes it look overly generic. But that’s jus me.
I have version 1. It’s my most worn watch. Two fixes to this v2 are appreciated: (1) the sword hour hand helps legibility because in v1 the hour and minute hands were exactly the same width, making the hour hand disappear under the minute and (2) the lume.
Another great review. I’m a huge fan of Christopher Ward watches. This one is no exception. Superb. I have to say, I was a little disappointed with the bracelet screw links though. I’m quite handy and can usually resize all my own bracelets. These ones, however, are an absolute nightmare. They are the type that require a screw driver inserting on each side of the screw. Incredibly difficult to do without professional equipment. For me at least. Seems a strange choice. Regular screws would have made for more sense.
Thanks for taking the time to watch the review and leave a comment Joe, I really appreciate it ☺️ The screws on this bracelet are actually just normal screws!
@@12and60 ohhh. Well that’s much more like it. On my brand new Sealander they are the double screw ones. Assumed they would be the sane. Well to assume makes an “ass” out of “me” and “u”. 🤣
Solid review and well presented, 12 and 60. The Sandhurst appeals to me greatly, the case style and size suit the watch and they suit me. I think the updates of S2 make the Sandhurst that much more desirable a watch though I’m one of those who likes watches to also sport a date window. :D Were the Sandhurst not so close to another tool/field watch I already have I’d very likely get one. Christopher Ward really enhanced this one.
Wonderful review. I really love what c ward is doing these days and while I find this sandhurst attractive, the hour hand and the huge clasp is a big turn off. However, I really like most everything else with this one
A good overall effort from CW and an improvement, but I agree the hour hand design does not sit well with me. Clasp way to long IMO, although I'd wear this type of field watch on a NATO anyway.
They should have had a more contemporary design on the dial like the Rolex Explorer or the Longines Spirit. The dimensions are just right, the movement perfect, and the bracelet perfect but the dial could have been so much better in my opinion.
Nice review! I have a question 1. This watch have date function inside case ? I wanna know movement have ghost position 2. First c65 have too much reflective crystal so hard to see dial Is this same?
I have the v1 Sandhurst. Does anyone know whether I will be able to fit the metal bracelet of the v2 on it, as you can no longer purchase the original v1 bracelet off the Christopher Ward site?
I suspect I would always be wishing that the point of the minute hand ran along the inner rail of the minute track rather than the outer.. But otherwise this looks to be a really cracking watch. CW are playing with the big boys these days.
@@12and60 I do quite like that piece. I’m just disappointed that this piece, which otherwise looks incredible and ticks all the boxes for me, has the fake patina. I’d love if they did two versions like the Speedmaster ‘57 maybe?
..... the previous version was wonderful and I was going to buy one but sadly they sold out ....... but this version , well on what's supposed to be a vintage inspired military field watch the hands on this just look mismatched and absurd , maybe its now a field / diver hybrid .... at least the second hand doesn't have their corny trident counter poise ........
Their improvement bar would get close to 100% had they changed it to female endlinks, a lot of people may not care but for small wrist (6.5'') people like me, that would really help.I don't know why they haven't done it already!
The movement is NOT guaranteed to be accurate between -4 and +6 seconds per day as you said. That is NOT what chronometer means. COSC has a website where you can check the relevant info.
I really liked it in person. I love the minimalism of it . . . and as a graphic designer, I think the negative space works really well. That said, I respect your opinion as the Ranger seems to divide opinion more than any watch release I’ve seen over the past few years.
Why always a black dial? A cream dial would have been a killer. Also, why replace the 'Christopher Ward' brand wording with an anonymous dual cross symbol - what's the point? It's almost as if the brand is ashamed of itself!
The amount of hate the brand used to get for their full text logo was unreal. I'm not surprised they changed it! A cream dial sandhurst would be interesting.
I’m looking for a field watch( foot my daily wear). I would wess as t it on a nato , so the clasp doesn’t bother me . But that goofy ass logo just makes it look like a $25.00 Chinese thing you see the street hustlers selling. I just don’t understand why they don’t just use CW if their whole name is too long. People go crazy for the Rolex Daytona and it has a whole BOOK of crap on the dial. I normally don’t care about what is writing a watch ,because it’s a tool for me but this is hideous. The only positive about this is you probably wouldn’t get fibber over this because it looks so cheap. But I don’t go to the shitty city anyway. I live in the country and drive an old truck so that would only help city folks, and those England SUBJECTS that seem to be getting robbed all the time. I don’t have that problem, the thugs stay away from us couofolks, as we always carry a gun and know how to operate a backhoe 😉
Thanks so much for taking the time to review our watch! Great coverage of the details and incredible production value.
My pleasure! And thank you for loaning me the watch! 🙂
Please offer this without the faux patina

And what a great logo

I hope you managed to get one! 🙂
Christopher ward is my favourite watch brand now The new chime watch is gorgeous.
Yeah, the Bel Canto is lovely. I've long been a fan of the brand, I think their value for money is absolutely fantastic.
I couldn't get away from the Tudor Ranger... but something was missing, that I have found in this Sandhurst.
I've found my new everyday watch!! Wooo
Good looking watch, very tempting!
Excellent review, thank you 👍🏻👍🏻
Glad you enjoyed it!
I really like the new logo! I just discovered Christopher ward and their name on their older models just didn’t look right and was to much. The lack of all the text has made me much more interested in purchasing one in the future.
I think there's a lot of people in the same boat as you!
NO! I HATE the new logo. Losing the text makes the watch generic, like a Chinese no-name watch. They should have kept the Christopher Ward name.

Excellent point about the width of the hands!
You are right about the clasp length. I had the same impression with my Sealander GMT. The clasp seems to be a bit out of proportion.
While this looks exactly like Longines Spirit 37mm. I will pick this one !!! Its irresistibly gorgeous !!!!!

Does the AR on top of bottom?
Does it have a host date position?

love that they got rid of that stupid trident on the seconds hand, and the text-logo
I like it a lot but like you that hour hand looks odd to me on this design. I hope they make a smaller clasp in the future.

radium lume? 4:11
"Old Radium" is the name given to that particular shade of Super-LumiNova.
@@12and60 Thanks - just bought one - all bronze version including bracelet - very striking.
Waiting for delivery (-:
I love everything except one thing: the "railroad track" is too narrow. Time legibility suffers a bit.
Another beautiful watch crippled for me by the use of fake patina on the lume. Similar to Omega Seamaster 300.
There's always the C63 Sealander if you want something similar without the faux patina.

The hands do look a bit odd. You might get lucky if they have the old version in the next sale though!
Why no 36mm version??
They have the C63 Sealander in 36mm if this is too big for you. That might be a good alternative?
... Great video! I think I've gone and done one better tbh pal? I've just got the C65 Dune Gmt Ltd edition model.
Would be nice to see a sterile-dial version of this.

Hate the hands. Ver1 was better looking !!
The hands not of the same kind and the logo ruin the watch for me.

I’d take the Ranger over this.
At over twice the price it’s not really a competitor though is it.
Whilst the Ranger has some technical advantage, I personally prefer the Sandhurst to the Ranger.
I really like the Ranger too but it's $2+k more expensive.
The Ranger's proportions are all wrong, the numerals look awkward and lost on the dial and it's the most underwhelming watch I've ever seen in person.
