Life long fan of Steve....what a musician/songwriter. Saw him live once at Harry Hope's in Cary, IL one summer many years ago. I was crushed when I learned of Steve's untimely death. But he will live forever in his recordings. I am sure he and John Prine are still making music on the other side of life....hope to see you one day there Steve! Ditto Mike Smith!
Having enjoyed Steve's music since the early seventies, I have felt the joy of the enrishment that he has brought to my life. Viewing this video this morning leaves me awash with emotion. In this short two song presentation, we see the range of his wit and cleverness melt into a pool of seniitive longing shrouded in hesitancy. This transition from laughter to heart tugging, tenuous expression of love is augmented by his brilliant playing that makes his Martin sing like a chorus. Oh how I miss this gentle soul, that gave so much until his untimely demise. There is a hole on the north side of Chicago where he made our music scene smile, as well as the one in my heart as I write this through my tears this morning.
I saw him at every opportunity when he came to Denver. All these years later, he's still by far the best live performer I've ever seen. Genuine, brilliant, passionate, and so obviously loving every minute on stage.
May his memory be a blessing always
This makes me melancholy. Thinking about things that might have been.
RIP Steve Goodman . A giant of a man.
I love the guy. ❤

Steve was very talented and he is missed from the field of folk music
Love this. Thanks for sharing. RIP Steve Goodman ❤
Such an unsung singer songwriter and guitar gunslinger, what a loss for him to go so early and now long ago.
Gracias
RIP
I wonder if Steve ever met Jim Croce. I believe Steve and Jim Croce would have had a great time jamming together.
Steve would have had fun jamming with anyone, as would Jim. One of the things they had in common.
