Crisp white walls with rich wood floors and neutral furniture and accents always works! This is what fixer upper lady does and always looks great..... I’m loving this makeover 😍😍😍😍😍😍he’s very talented! Good job!!!
Gorgeous! Great job! Will we be seeing more of his beautiful makeovers I hope? I love so many of the decisions that were made, like the ceiling for one......
I love making spaces look more open. However, am I the only one who hates white paint colors with kids? Mine like to touch EVERYTHING I am cleaning cabinets 2 times a week! And I loathe cleaning as a mom and designer. I also think the corner sink is ineffective. Now you can't properly use the bar because the sink is in the way to seat someone comfortably there -especialy with a rectangular placemat or if you wanted to use the full length for meal prep.
I know white looks clean. I love a white kitchen. But this space is devoid of color. It seems every designer has gone with an easy to create blank white space. The textures and different elevations are not enough to make this feel warm, Cosy and inviting for me. I’d like to see a designer who isn’t afraid of color.
It's not fair to fully judge the design based on 1 project. Perhaps the client really insisted on full-on white. I am a designer too and we do get clients like this.
It sounds like you all missed the title of the video. This is not about colour, it's about making a space look bigger and the fundamental design principle of white making a space look bigger while dark colours smaller applies here. Whether we like white in a room or not (I don't) is not really relevant to the tutorial aspect of the video. The same principle applies to clothing for example. Perceptively, black tends to diminish size whereas white and brighter colours expand it. For goodness sakes, give her a break!
How do I find out how to do the artwork using electrical tape. I am obsessed! Can’t find anything on the internet that came out that well and nothing out there except this example that I really love.
Very well put together! I would have gotten rid of the coffee table and put a round ottoman for extra seating and hidden storage, you need as much storage as you can get in a small space
I was thinking that as well. It's also harder to use. I find generally male designers/builders do a corner sink and I feel like that's not well thought out the corner and bar are less useable now. You can't use a rectangular place mat there, or anything else.
They're actually using the dead space of the corner with the sink. This gives more usable counter and cabinet space. I had one before and would love one again.
Everything looks great. The only thing I would change are those peg holes in the back of the bookcases. I found those holes too distracting in both the before and after the remodel. My eyes were immediately drawn to them and took away from the pristine crisp look of the room. I would wither fill them in with dowels painted the same color as the bookcase or ensure that books, vases etc. blocked the holes from view.
Looks beautiful, clean and updated. The minus points, my opinion and only, the color of the kitchen counter top is ugly, doesn't mach. Also... Bring the books back where they deserve to be. Ps: I don't want to sound like... but I observed that most of the young designers aren't librarie's funs, I guess that they are using electronic libraries 😕
@@inismei9077 Books should be display pieces. Even research shows that if you want literate kids, you should have books displayed. We are making decor priority and becoming empty shelves ourselves!
Sarah Hamilton These days my local library has a new system offering e-books including the books they have on shelves all without the worry of late fees.
I hate it too when there are no books on bookcases. I hate the nick knacks, accessories. What's wrong with the original kitchen, it was fine, rich people issues !
really nice. I have a small home 900 sqft. I was wanting to make it open concept but the gas stove in kitchen backs up to living area. any ideas? the other walls have pipe running thru them. awkward kitchen
I wish the L portion of the couch was one seat less so she had more of a walkway between the couch and the breakfast bar, but overall the updates are really nice.
The key to faking mote room is brighter colors and MIRRORS. It tricks the eye into thinking there's DOUBLE the space. 😂 I didn't watch the video yet so if they say it. Don't get allll BEWTY hurt son. 😂
Slapping white paint on everything isn’t really difficult..hate the cold look of a dentists waiting room. A home is a reflection of who lives there..or used to be. Always the same interior everywhere..granite countertops stainless steel appliances and all the kitchen sprayed white. Minimalist blank...maybe it’s yrs of working in hospitals that I dislike this fad.
pretty nice! (btw, why, why WHY do people refer to FLOORS as the "ground?" e.g., when he talks about eating, & they put the type rug underneath the table to catch crumbs that fall on the GROUND. Drives me nuts, & I hear it all the time! Esp. by people (news reporters, professionals, etc. who should know better) - Another peeve is constant usage of "there's" for "there are" - e.g., "there's three chairs in the room" or "there's several ways to apply paint" - this is just blatant ignorance; it's "there ARE 3 chairs"...there ARE several ways..." Seems like NO one cares for correct usage of good English any more;
Carole S - I'm not even English (German here :-) and I find it also terrible how many say "ax" instead of "ask" or "he don't...". Or people who talk like they ask a question? In every single sentence? It literally kills my ears (and patience listening to them talking like that)? Greetings ;-))

The host looks gorgeous. Her hair looks great. Love the top and her beautiful brown skin is standing out glowing and flawless.
Elegant and livable... Just beautiful!
What a difference with the fireplace and shelves. Looks so clean and lovely by eliminating the colour and clutter.
I love everything, especially that chandelier. What a beautiful transformation!

Very nice and beautifully done! I love the total re-do! You made it look twice as big! 👍💯👍
Wallpaper or color on back of built ins on either side of fireplace would’ve been a nice touch. Looks gorgeous!
Amazing! Looks chic and liveable. I love it. Great job!

Check out Robeson Design videos on youtube... gorgeous!
No worries. New trend: greige and tinted whites. Design world is full of "new discoveries". Eye roll...

Loved this! I have my eye on an apartment that needs a lot of work and am considering knocking down the closet near the kitchen to create some space.
Love this. Brian did such a great job! Great segment Tracy :)
He's An Intelligent Disigner Whit Good Ideas 👍
I love it! Great job!
beautiful job.
Great job!
Beautiful
Beautiful great job 👏😊
Before taking down the molding you could have bought a router and made some matching
Fabulous!

Very nice and hope she will replace the countertops one day with a white square cut thicker quartz or Caesar stone
You look gorgeous!
Absolutely gorgeous.
I love the sectional !!! Where did he buy it from ???
Beautiful! :-D
Where is the table and dining chairs from? The chandelier looks amazing❤️
I luv it!
Can you have him show us how he made the painting on the wall with electrical tspe
Thea Hopson yes would love to see that
I came here to see if he shared that somewhere! Please do. 🙂
Love it👍🌷
Wonderful job❤️ it..
Awesome redugn
Please ask Brian to share details of how your custom art work - electrical tape? was done. It's beautiful
How do you wallpaper a ceiling??? Id like to see that. Got to be backbreaking
There are specialists who can remake moulding etc !
They take pattern from remaining moulding .
Look great but it is expensive to have done !
Love it
Super Nice...love
OMG!...I need his phone # to hire him. It looks amazing BEAUTIFUL
A lot of ladies would like to have his #!

Most people don't want to see themselves eating in a mirror, and bon chance keeping the spaghetti chandelier clean.
So funny! The first thing that I thought about the "after" is, "I would hate to be the person who has to clean that chandelier!"
You wouldn't need to remove the moulding. There are people out there who can copy it.
The big problem that I can see with that kitchen is that it is really messy. Clean up all that crap before taking a picture.
Looks beautiful, clean and updated. The minus points, my opinion and only, the color of the kitchen counter top is ugly, doesn't mach. Also... Bring the books back where they deserve to be.

So bookshelves have no books, because it's "clutter". 😢
mimi maliar I'm sure it's organized underneath the shelves since the shelves are being used for display.

can someone tell where I can find that chandelier?!!
Maybe I missed the info, how much was the sq feet area of the house?
very nice after love the art
Stunning results: comfortable, practical, stylish and makes sense. One of the best renovations I've seen online. Good job.
nice
I do I get in touch with this Contractor?
That chandelier with the strings looks like a messy ball of string....must be difficult to dust

angela sheppard maybe make IT an Island with the gasstove?
Half wall?
Where is the chandelier from?
Nice!!!!!! 👍💯👍
This is so odd - I saw this same place with another designer saying that they did it.
How do you clean the chandelier?
You don't you hire someone else.
I wish the L portion of the couch was one seat less so she had more of a walkway between the couch and the breakfast bar, but overall the updates are really nice.
Honey Bunny I thought the same thing! Such a small walk though space.
What is the sqm of this kitchen living dining?
If you got rid of the wine rack you could put a third stool there.
What paint / white # or name was used?
Everything is pretty, but the kitchen could use at least one piece of decor.
Muy linda la casa me gusta mucho
Um. surely you could see that the vents went through that wall by going to the basement and looking up.
Brian yr too good can u help me pls I'm in Nyc
