C'mon man. Poland was thrown into Stalin's arms after the Yalta conference (WW2, 1945, Roosevelt and Churchill didn't want to angry Stalin). Poland was never an enemy of the United States. USSR was. And we had to do what moscovites wants for next 45 years. That's all.
@@foreignreacts Actually Poland and USA share the same heroes like Tadeusz Kościuszko or Kazimierz Pułaski - they both were fighting for Polish and American freedom.
@@foreignreacts I can tell you more. This operation has been performed by ex communist agents, together with new, "democratic" ones. Poland became an "enemy" of the West for a simple reason that was beyond Poles' control. The West and the USA "sold" Poland to Stalin for the USSR after World War II. So Poland fell under the occupation of the Soviets. Poland was overall the fourth largest army fighting against the Axis in WWII. However, Poland lost this war because at the most critical moment was abandoned by its allies.

More than 5 million Poles died during the war, Poland lost the war in this sense because the new world order after 1945 caused Western countries including the US to hand Poland over to the Soviet sphere of influence, where Poles had to serve the enemy by force. In this sense, we were doubly deceived within a few years.
We were sold to stalin as a token, to stop the war. I don't know if the statement that Poland and the USA were enemies during the Cold War is entirely true. We were part of the Warsaw Pact and in that sense it was true. But at the same time, most Poles, apart from a narrow group of communists, were not satisfied with this, we felt we were victims sold to the USSR after World War II. That's why the soldiers were ready to fight the USA if necessary, but also to do everything so that the Soviets had as little power over us as possible. Hence, for example, several Poles passed information to the USA, but not about Poland but the USSR. They considered it patriotism, and sharing anything about Poland was considered treason. Therefore, relatively quickly after the collapse of the Warsaw Pact, an agreement with NATO was reached. Both sides had nothing against each other.
Yes, let's remember of great contribution of polish army HQ colonel Ryszard Kuklinski, who smuggled to the CIA highly classified documents regarding plans of attack Western Europe by russians. He was extracted with his family from Poland by the US service and had lived till his last days in America. He payed dearly for his doing with death of his two sons. The theory says they were killed by russians.

The action was called Operation Samum. A feature film was made based on this event. You can find it online under the same title: Operation Samum. A fantastic film with Polish action stars of the time. The Iron Curtain divided the world in half. The border was in Germany - Berlin was divided in half. The left side of the border belonged to the free Western world, and the other half belonged to or was under the influence of the communist Soviet Union. From Berlin to the east, everything was Soviet. Therefore, Poland was an enemy of the USA and vice versa. Turkey is a country located on two parts of the continent: Europe and Asia. It has been a member of NATO since 1952 (Poland since 1999). In Asia, it borders, among others, Iraq, and on the European continent, Greece and Bulgaria.

The US is black and white where communist is concerned (communist in their own minds, it doesn't have to be actual, perceived is enough) until they need help.
It turns that Poland, forced to be part of russian influence block, was the least trusted part by moscovites. Poles, even during communist reign, managed to work in the USA. Even in 80s States helped Polish underground with various things. We should not forget about very close relations between polish Pope JP II and Ronald Reagan, which greatly contributed to the fall of Soviet Union. Fall of the Berlin wall wasn't the turning point in the fall of Eastern Block. That happened with creation of polish workers movement Solidarity.
It's not like Poland and USA were enemies, USA and USSR was enemies, and since USSR keept Poland as an satelite state we had no choice, we had to be hostile, even if we hated USSR more than USA...
During Cold War Poland was behind the Iron Curtain, so on the Russian side. Unwillingly, but that's a fact. The entire Cold War was between US and Russia. Poland = Russia at that time. So if US had a beef with Russia, US had also beef with Poland. SImple.

World LEADERS - that's called to u. Only u can make it happen. Think how big u are, how great u would became by doing this. Non ever did it before. Poles even made movie about those events. It’s called “Operation Samum”. Poles where pro western but government was communistic so naturally Poland was perceived as enemy. Poles had nothing to say about what side of iron curtain they will be after WW2. Many poles fought along allied forces. But those are stories for another day. @Mert Pol did a few good videos on those. I think another movie shows it nicely - “Jack Strong”.
It is easy to explain why Poland was an enemy of the USA. During World War II at the Yalta Conference, the leaders of the anti-Hitler coalition (the so-called Big Three) met: Joseph Stalin, Winston Churchill and Franklin Delano Roosevelt, there the Allies bowed to Stalin and gave Poland to the Soviet Union. Since the end of the war, the Soviet Union ruled Poland, and every enemy of the Soviet Union was also an enemy of the countries over which the Soviet Union held in its grip. Poland was the first to move towards liberation from the occupation (after terrible and bloody moments) the "Solidarity" group won, in the elections in June 1989 the communists were removed from power, this was the beginning of the fall of the Soviet Union in Europe. It is not true that the Berlin Wall was the one that initiated the fall of communism in Europe, the Berlin Wall fell in November 1989. When Poland rebounded from the Soviet Union, it was looking for a new ally and this is how the USA came.
Poland and the USA were hostile countries due to the fact that Poland was a satellite of the USSR. Normal Poles loved the USA all the time and emigrated there by tens of thousands. The Polish diaspora in the USA is several million people. After the fall of the USSR and the collapse of the Warsaw Pact, Poland was the first to become an ally of the USA and the most trusted country among the former communist satellites of Russia. It is so to this day and the USA has no more loyal ally in the EU than Poland! Poland knows that only the power of the USA can protect our country from aggression from Putin's Russia.
The cold war... Poland was part of the soviet block.. not that we wanted to be... but some fat non polish guys in Yalta decided it would be a good idea. The Poles will forgive but never forget this betrayal.
,,OPERACJA SAMUM" The film is not an accurate reflection of the facts because the case files have not been disclosed. However, the story of the CIA agents getting drunk seems very likely
I saw you rising an eyebrow at the news of Polish workers in Iraq. After the 1967 Six Days War of Israel - or maybe even earlier - the line in the Middle East was clearly drawn between US allies (Israel, Iran, Sauds too I think) and the rest of Arab world. USSR embraced fully into Enemy of my enemy is my ally adage, and started helping everybody else (Iran is a little complicated case, because it radically shifted camps in 1979). Naturally, USSR's support meant Warsaw Pact support. I don't think Polish soldiers (or "military insructors") served in Middle East outside of UN contingent - I think there is Polish troops in Golan Mountains to this day. As a plaything of imperial superpowers ourselves, we were a little hesitant to add to the same suffering in other region. So we went there to build. Saddam was super happy with T-72M we (with Hungarians I think) sold him - in early eighties they were vastly superior over outdated Western tanks Iran had - so we built him a factory of those in Iraq - it was few months from being operative when the Gulf War started. But we were primarily building factories for civilian needs. My uncle was building a chimney in Libyan sugar mill, his brother was a part of engineering team for oil refinery for Sauds - we weren't shy of building for dictators, because the crueler dictator was, the more his people needed help. So, all in all, we weren't just allies of Saddam - we were really popular with people there - until second Gulf War, when we came there as US allies.
Try to find the movie "Operacja samum" "Samum operation"... this movie is inspired by this rescue story...you should be able to have English subtitle i hope you will enjoyed ... greetings from Scarborough UK
Poland was unwilling enemy, but enemy nonetheless. At that time it was still under influence of the soviets. Despite russian claims that they "rescued" us, they were just another tyrant over our heads. Since the berlins wall fell, I assume the risks were taken to improve relationship with usa, and, consequently, completely separate from the soviet influence. As so, I dont find strange, we (poland) went above and beyond, making sure the americans were perfectly safe.
In Poland this mission was called Operation Samun but what give me to think. What to hell the DEA agents and not only the CIA were doing there??? The cold war... Poland was part of the soviet block.. not that we wanted to be... but some fat non polish guys in Yalta decided it would be a good idea. The Poles will forgive but never forget this betrayal.
The majority of Turkey is in the Middle East. Only a small part of Turkey is in Europe.
Utworzona Jednostka Wojskowa 2305 GROM, której legendę pierwszy dowódca Sławomir Petelicki wywodził od uczczenia Gromosława Czempińskiego
Thanks to those Polish heroes we are in NATO now🙏 thank you ❤
Za jaką cenę? Zobaczymy, co zrobi nayo w razie W . Założę się, że będzie tak jak zwykle
Turkey is not part of Europe but Asia. It’s the Middle East. It’s ok. We learn every day.
,,OPERACJA SAMUM" The film is not an accurate reflection of the facts because the case files have not been disclosed. However, the story of the CIA agents getting drunk seems very likely
USA sold Poland to USSR after IIWW. Later we were the satelite state for USSR. Check Jack Strong. The movie is dope.
I totally get that
It's a shame that grown up man does not know about the geography of the world. Here in Poland kids learn that in the primary school... Geez.
Try to find the movie "Operacja samum" "Samum operation"... this movie is inspired by this rescue story...you should be able to have English subtitle i hope you will enjoyed ... greetings from Scarborough UK
Turkey is in Asia not in Europe 😅
Nice story !
If you like the is Polish move about this call Operacja Samum from 1999 .
Maybe with subtitles if not sorry.
How the world treat Poland is a shame
Just a small pice of Turin’s in Europe but the most of the turkey territory is in Middle East
In Poland this mission was called Operation Samun but what give me to think. What to hell the DEA agents and not only the CIA were doing there??? This answer could put some lights on this case why after this operation the US government written off the foreign debts for Poland. Few billions for jus 6 agents
We were enemies only in terms of the official government controlled by USSR. The Polish people though were rather pro American.
True story.
my uncle workt in iraq in that time ;D
🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏🤏tyle brakło do spalenia całej operacji.

Hello, I suggest you start learning history. And where the country is. Also how countries were divided during the Cold War.
The Turks are not a European country.

Jeżeli chcesz zrozumieć o co chodzi poczytaj dlaczego Polska była jedynym krajem którego nie zaproszono na paradę zwyciestwa oo II WW.
There was a movie made about this action "Operation Samum." Here is a scene where the Polish agent is trying to teach the Americans how to pronounce their Polish cover names. ua-cam.com/video/6jZhJ9yGSZw/v-deo.html

Is it joke ? You even dont know where Poland is.... only money , nothing else
Your state of shock is very worrying but at the same time very telling Sir. This is why we have Trump as a president and many other seriously dangerous events. Because people don’t know history that spans not 1000 years back but as little as 50-80 years back. No offence Sir I appreciate your efforts but really you need to read up a little. Kind regards.

Hi Bro 🇵🇱👊
Lech Wałęsa is an icon of the "Free World" for the West. However, after the round table talks in Poland, it turned out that he was actually an agent of the Communist Security Service (SB) under the pseudonym "TW: BOLEK". Today, he does not enjoy particular sympathy in Poland.
Not true!
@mariusdmeridius6712 not what??? 😆

@@danielchudini77 Your statement about Lech Wałęsa that he was an agent of the Communist Security Service (SB), that's not true. It's a false disgraceful accusation and another slander attempting to discredit President Wałęsa in the eyes of public opinion and, consequently, diminish his role in history.
Turkiye actually is on 3 different continents: Europe, Asia and Africa. And it has coastline on 5 different seas: Mediterranean, Black, Aegean, Caspian and Bosforus
