@@aishafadime4786 Hello Aisha! The best thing would be to look at the website that you would like to apply to and see their portfolio requirements. My college didn't require having specifically textile pieces in the portfolio, it could be any visual artwork - so I submitted my paintings and illustration. Anything that shows your basic skills such as color use, composition, etc.

@@aishafadime4786 Most schools emphasize "thinking and creating" processes for portfolio submissions. Here are some examples. Lougborough University in the UK, ranked #1 in the UK for textiles (I found this information online and don't have any personal experience with them): www.lboro.ac.uk/schools/design-creative-arts/study/undergraduate/application-process/creative-arts-interview-and-portfolio/
Rhode Island School of Design (one of the top US design colleges): www.risd.edu/academics/textiles/bachelors-program
Scroll those pages to read about their portfolio requirements. You can do this process for any design school of interest depending on which locations you are looking at. Also, there is usually information offices and websites for any colleges. Good luck!

what are the other print on demand sides you cell your designs on and what income / a month can one generate as a textile designer ?Thank you

The income depends on a lot of factors: 1) which income streams one is using (the most stable and profitable are in-house work and freelancing for clients - with these one can generate several thousand a month 2) if we're talking about POD specifically, it also matters what style you work in - some styles are more trending 3) the style needs to be a good match for a platform (for example, Society 6 has a young "dorm room" aesthetic and Redbubble is big on funny, goofy stuff like cartoon-y stickers 4) one needs to have thousands of designs for sale and keep consistently adding for several years.
I have tiny portfolios on Society 6 and Redbubble but I've only had a few sales over 5 years) I chose not to keep uploading there, so it's no wonder. I've also tinkered with Zazzle a bit. There are lots of PODs, for t-shirts, phone cases and other products, some of them work great for graphic designers - using punchy phrases, etc. but I mainly focus on patterns, so I can't speak for those.

Thank you very much. You talk a lot about the spoonflower site, like ist it what you put your main focus on (uplode the most?)? When so, what do you generate finantielly on this platform?

Yes, it's been my main focus for a couple years. $50-200 per month and it fluctuates all the time. Some designers make more
