I can still remember the Christmas morning when that was under the tree. Laying on the floor, impatiently watching as my dad stuck all the stickers on. I sure miss him. I wish I could go back to that day.
This is amazing. I'm from the UK and had this when I was a kid. Watching this video makes me go back in time. Christmas morning opening this was amazing. Thanks for the video.
Just picked up one of these at an antique store for $12 and is nearly complete, just missing the elevator. Nothing more fun than playing with this again with my kids, takes me back to when I was seven...
me and my brother would play with this for hours. it drove me nuts that he would drive the cars up the down ramp. I still feel the same watching you run the cars up the down ramp. lol...great set! great memories! I hope to find one.
Good afternoon. Next november I will fulfill 54 years old and this video brings to me a lot of grateful memories about my childhood. In the beginning of 1970´s my older brother gave me a Hot Wheels track; it wasn´t as sophisticated like yours one, but I enjoyed a lot. The best part is despite a lot of electronic games, Hot Wheels Toy Cars are still manufactured and sold. Greetings from Venezuela.
just picked one up today still boxed at a boot sale, £8. The guy said he'd never used it and it came with the legs and both clips intact. Even the instructions. Well happy, had one when I was about the same age as the lad on the boxart
The car wash has two little knobs on top of it that push the car back and forth. I can't believe I remembered that lol. It was by far one of my favorite toys. Very cool find!
Today the elevator would hook up to wifi and the garage doors would have a remote ,the gas pumps would blast gangsta rap, the grass and flower stickers would be beer and mountain dew litter mixed with a few mcdonalds bags, the mechanic shop would be a vape liquor sto 😂
This is a random video I found in my little son tablet. when I saw this I went out of my mind, this is the very same gift my dady gave me for Christmas. I spent ours playing and my friends did too. I also one like this but the construction theme with a crame and everythin. thanks for charing☺☺☺☺
Wow, talk about a blast from the past Actually I wasn't born in 1979 when this came out so therefore I was born in '80 instead, I remember around 1987-88 at only 7 or 8 my parents helped me out trying to do find a toy garage at the thrift store and then all of a sudden there it was and so someone had already put the stickers on the thing. After that, I would get all my Mattel Hot Wheels cars and trucks that would change colors and use them Thanks for sharing especially for every 80s babies who grew up having this😊👍🏾
I just unboxed the new version so o can put the stickers on before Christmas...the old one was better. Can't believe how teeny it is but I was teeny too. The stickers really make it more fun I see now more than ever. It's a shame they don't last. I'm impressed someone never opened this
Had one of these as a kid and also the construction site sto & go set, absolutely loved them. I don't know if I was just given them at the same time or they came with them (in the UK) but my sets had a Black Trans-Am (which was the Bandit's car as far as I was concerned!) with this one and a yellow dump truck with the construction site.
Hotwheels stow and go playsets great playsets love them as you can drive hotwheels and matchbox and corgi juniors still great got the new one for my birthday had tuns of fun
I was born in 1977. I had this set, and another one similar to it as a kid. If I remember right, you could place them face to face and there was a track that would connect them together. I forgot all about these things until a few days ago...
I can remember playing with one at my neighbor's house when I was a kid. That's a true time machine there. It took me back a about a quarter of century instantly.
Weird what you remember... I had one of these as a kid and haven't thought about it for at least 30 years but every tiny detail of that thing is so familiar.
Wow I remember as a kid one of my neighbors had one of these like in 87' ..I must have been in 5th grade n I wanted one so freaking bad, ..but I never saw them in stores I suppose he must've got his second hand or something, I never knew they where so old, ..I also remember another one just like this one but with a construction zone theme, with a fully functioning crane on top, and half of the ramp was simulated to look like dirt, have you seen that one?
Got this when I was probably 3/4ish. Didn't know those stickers were something you had to put on, man, I guess my dad put those on. lol Can't see him doing that. You should have scanned those sticker sheets, they were in amazing shape! That stupid carrying handle was the first thing to break, then those bracer ramps. You are so lucky to get one mint!
Me and my brother had a set of this garage, only thing was after a while the back legs would pop off and get lost so my brother and a I would steel each others, 😅😅 when all were lost we held the back up with a pile of books. Endless amount of fun.
very cool and nice condition! i am very jealous lol! its hard to find sealed ones. You should have used the cars shown on the package to test it if you had them!
I was counting the spaces to see where the 15 cars goes and I though there are not enough spaces for the 15 cars, but, looks like storing cars as you did at the end of the video there is room for more than 15 cars
If you still have this beauty, would you ever consider selling? I as close to my brother and we played with this all growing up. I miss him. This set brings back such happy nostalgia for me.
Awesome. And box-opening!? Wow. I was born in '74 and had one of these sets. Great fun. Don't know who put the stickers on. Probably my mom. Btw, classic beetle gas tank openings tend to be on the front-right and not the rear-right. Just sayin'! :)
Great video! I never realised Matel sold this for so long. I remember nagging my parents for this for Christmas when I was six or seven years old which would have been 1983 or 1984 and it still looked just like your 1979 example. A year later they released the construction site which was based on the same fold-up carry case design but with a different interior. I only found out later that the stickers didn't come pre-applied. On both occasions my mum spent ages on Christmas Eve applying all the stickers :)
If anybody has one of these, check those hinges for any signs of stress! The flexing plastic hinges that let it fold had become too rotten, so I've replaced them with some metal craft hinges. (don't whine at me for ruining a vintage toy, the thing was already a mess.) I *HAD* to fix it up since my little cousins adore this as much as I do. I always loved playing with this over at great-grandma's farm.
I think this must be a 1981 (possibly very late 1980) re-release because the Hot Wheels car Turismo (red, lower right, next to the Good Housekeeping seal), the car which was originally designed to be a DeLorean but which was slightly altered after licensing fell through, appears on the box but that casting didn't premiere until the 1981 series (which started to hit stores at the end of 1980).
Also, the original release of the Service Center Sto & Go had a Hot Bird (Pontiac Firebird Trans-Am) included but this re-release seems to be without any cars.
Wow... where did you get this? eBay? Finding one in the box new is unbelievable. I can't believe someone actually saved one in the box all these years. I bet you paid a lot for this. I'd give anything to have one. I wanted one since I was 8 years old. I know they reissued them but there not the same as the originals. Loved this video. 🌈😁
I paid about $100 several years ago on eBay. The price on these'll keep going up and up. But, I will say that the remake that they sell at Target is pretty good if you can't get your hands on one of these vintage ones.
@@giggleblaggleI. Had a chance to get one on Amazon, the new one I mean..and some one bought it while I was reading the reviews. I'm waiting for someone one to put one back up.

As a child I thought this was one of the most amazing things ever.
I played w mine as a kid so much that all the stickers wore away-this is so neat to see. Wish I was 5 again!
This was my favorite toy as a kid. I would die if I saw this for sale in this condition!
agreed, I share the same Christmas memory.. I was 5 and this was one of my favorite toys...for many many years after... thanks for sharing

Still have it at my parents house over 40 years later! lol
I remember driving pops crazy with that bell. Especially when the news was on. Thank you for sharing this sir.
Hand me down town from my uncle. Played with this in the 90's growing up. Nostalgic, Thanks for uploading.
My friend has one of these. He isn't a Hot Wheels collector, but I am. I was so jealous of it! I have the remake version.
Man, I absolutely loved this when I was young. 42 now, so may as well just buy one for my youngest son who's 7.
brings back old memories

Kids were disappointed to find that the set didn’t come with all the cars shown on the front picture
I bought this at a yard sale as a kid for a dollar. But I would love to find one this nice today!!!
The car wash has two little knobs on top of it that push the car back and forth. I can't believe I remembered that lol. It was by far one of my favorite toys. Very cool find!
Tellement de souvenirs ce garage. J'adorerai en trouver un pour mes enfants...
I wish I had one of those vintage Hot Wheels play set. I love it so much
I sure wish I still had mine. My son said that looks awesome.
Its me as a older dude and still watching this its not because its just satisfying
Yes I'm watching in 2021 :D
i love it too lmao :D

Born in 81 I had this. This was cool to watch. It's fun to see the stuff we had as kids.

The high speed chase ending in a PIT maneuver at the gas pump was the best part. 👍

I got one of these for Christmas in 1983, when I was 4! Always been a petrolhead!

1979? Looks like the sets that are out today. Garage doors are so hard to put in over and over. I hate these but my kid loves them.
China has everything now seriously I miss the old school vintage made in the USA not china
As a kid I can say this is cool 😎
