Bro, 5 minutes in and I feel like I’m actually hearing something different from all these other how to vids I’ve watch for the past 10 years. Thank you for this 🙏🏾
It’s a beautiful thing to see you come out of the school of your uncle and push the legacy forward with the knowledge and your own sound. Appreciate you fam!🙏🏾
@@imLowKeyfam tell unc to put me in his class or I’ll be ur student shiiiddd put me on famo I’m like the dude with plenty knowledge but it’s untapped lol
What I love about this guy is that he gives us useful knowledge that can advance our own production skills, vs many of these other yt "producers" who basically are just shilling VSTs or some other products.
damn man this probably the most helpful video on boom bap ive watched, st8 from the compressor in the beginning to the frequency and effect parts. always had a bit of a struggle with getting my drums to flow with the beat and not feel too robitic , ima try this out right. this a video you rewatch a couple times to get the sauce
Damn, I might pick up Tympo after watching some of your lessons. Your flow has inspired me to practice to make some Dilla/Nujabes beats, been producing mainly house but your beats hit hard. Subscribed.
Great video man. Something I’ve noticed from producers is the use of the bass line. Some will use it as a kind of counter-melody while others will have it highlight the drums like you did here. I love how producers can use different techniques and still make great music!
idk where to start, this was a great video, i’m still confused on how to make the beats tho, is there a bread and butter way to start then customize my own way?
Start by listening to artists you like and use elements of their tracks in your own. You can "copy" things like a drum pattern or chord progression to fully understand how to get that sound then try adding you own flavor to it. 💪🏾
Dope video g! Question, I rap but I’ve always wanted to learn how to make beats, especially 90s golden era boom bap type beats. For a beginner do you recommend abelton or fl studio?
About time I found someone with the same set up and ways to use ABELTON the way I want to! I even cheated with MPC beats lately because I got stuck in ABELTON.Now im back! 2 questions my guy.Do you freeze your SERATO SAMAPLE tracks afterwards? And lastly Go a lil more in depth with bass VSTS to use for boom bass.I have basically most VSTs thats out there but cant quite choose the right bass sound for my boom bap. Also I do my stuff in arrangement mode but thanks for coming thru in the clutch for us ABELTON heads!
Much appreciated bruh. Quick question, You ever get flagged on Spotify for sampled beats? About to start releasing, Was questioning whether bandcamp was better for this purpose, rather than using Distrokid, Holla back!
Be advised some artists have had releases disappear from bandcamp suddenly because they got flagged for sampled content. I figure if you chop it up enough the algorithm won’t recognize it, but I’ve heard stories about even tracks that had lines from movies just being taken down
For this beat I didn’t use the glue compressors.. they’re just on there because of my default launch preset, but I do use them for side chain more than the regular compressor
@@imLowKey because what I've found is that your mixing template is rly good, but using normal drums doesn't rly work cuz teletone has all those options

You make the best Hip Hop Ableton breakdowns man. Thank you so much. Any way we can get more videos about sample chopping?
Most definitely!

@@imLowKey Just released a song influenced by your videos man, it’s called Zisola! Keep up the great work dawg
Awesome raw sound comin out, with a lot of attention to detail 🔥🔥🔥 thanks for sharing your process as usual!
So happy to see that the younger generation still cares about real hip hop and still knows how to create a great beat! Keep it up, brother!
This was an incredible tutorial. Thanks bro.

Wow, thanks!
You really kill it. I just got Ableton standard and these videos been helping me a lot. Thanks Cordon!
Dope video🔥.
To achieve a similar swing feel, I usually just keep the kick on the one and shift the other sounds around that.
Bro your beat making is crazy. Bro this joint is 🔥. Salute
Tympo is insanely OP, can't stop using it since I bought it and honestly worth the $$
The drums are so good and full, definitely worth the money… can’t wait for them to add more sounds/features!
Dope video man. Could you make a short video on how you set up to record your UA-cam video?
Of course! I’ve been wanted to experiment with too 💪🏽
The beat is super fire 🔥 😍 🙌 Salute!
Much appreciated 🙏🏽

I don’t save my serato sample tracks because I’m constantly making changes to them. For the bass I usually use the operator
