Cold Winter Camping! | Diesel Heaters & Hard Sided Truck Campers

- My first real winter camp in the Dwell Shell was quite the success! My buddy Cole and I (yes we have the same name) hit a quick overnight camping trip in our Dwell Shells and put them to the test. Our Diesel heaters kept us warm all night and the insulated hard sided walls of the camper hold in the heat and eliminate all the harsh weather elements you would normally face in the winter months.

What I’ve seen on other videos is people use their diesel heater hose to prevent their water from freezing. They have a longer hose and wrap it around the container. You could try something like that. Good luck.
That’s a good idea. I think I’m going to order an RV tank heater pad on Amazon and wire it to a 12v cigarette plug
That may work but will tank a lot of power. I was refering to using the hose going to your tent. You will lose minimal heat but keep items from freezing.@@coleeades
Those are 37" tires on the Tundra?
My hose goes directly to the port in my tent, power is below so no way to wrap it great. Also the longer the heater hose the higher chance of overheating error. The tank heater pads only pull like 30 watts depending on the size. Should be pretty efficient if I just run it occasionally. Will test it out and let everyone know.
Yes
The freeze dried meals go hard in the winter though, easy to cook and you can leave your gloves on the whole time
@@alexross4062 so true! Easy, hot & no dishes!
coconut oil for winter cooking, cuz it is solid below 74 degrees. just need a knife to get it out of the containers.
Thank you!
That was a nice spot.
Your tires look like the same size as the ones on the tundra
Found the channel recently and love the content. Y’all both got cool set ups
Glad to have ya! Thank you for watching the videos
What a rad set up!
Thank you!
Never seen that style of camper!
Keep your oils in a baggie in your tent! Keeps it nice and room temp.
Just use butter. Or tallow. Seed oils are not great for your body.
What area did you camp? Don’t need specifics but curious what canyons are open during winter for camping. I’m in SLC.
This is up Cub River in Idaho. Only reason we got where we did was because of the lack of snow. Once we get more snow I usually camp out in the parking lots where we snowmobile from. If you DM me on insta I’m happy to give even more info if needed. (@coleeades)
