Never let a heavy handed person to do your threading. You will be crying because of the pain. If you want to figure out who has a heavy hand ask them to braid your hair. If it feels like they're gonna rip your entire scalp out they have a heavy hand.
I had a threading appointment yesterday, it was the first time...and let me tell you, it was the most painful thing ever (I've tried laser and wax, this was just horrible). The girl who did it was very slow, I felt every single hair pulled out of my skin...I think I'll never do it again
lolz how am i supposed to ask my threader to braid my hair
Best comment I've read in my life. Explains all
That's true my mom has heavy hands

You can use Rose water after removing hair that would reduce pimple and ingrowth hair so much , I use it everytime i remove hair everywhere in my body .
Aw thank you I was looking for advice like this
Dear really after hair removing use rose water
grace mohamed Do you make your own or buy from somewhere?
Mystique Darkholme u can buy rose water somewhere. I think making it will be a lot of work 😂
grace, I love using rose water on my skin, I put it in a fine mist spray bottle for my face in the summer, I spray it on my hair too, it revives my curls. Its distilled, so maybe plain distilled would work too. Ive also found 'orange blossom water'...also distilled, just to change the scent up a bit. It also helps with dry eyes when i spray my face. Witch hazel is great too, they're cheap and pure, no chemicals. I stopped buying and using branded skin products about a year ago.
trust me when I tell you that I avoid most beauty related channels, they just bore me out because I am not big on make up and such.
but girl your voice is so soothing and your ideas are well-thought, you're truly unique and I love your channel so much.
on another note, I live in a middle-eastern country where threading is supposed to be the most popular method and perhaps where it originated. now, can you believe a lot of beauty salons here are trying to convince clients to use waxing and let go of threading as if the later is less effective?!!
maybe it's a matter of taste! but my mom and aunts and grandmoms and everyone one I know here, even some salons for guys, have always used threading and it's always been effective for us!
I believe threading was not introduced in America and Europe until very recently (like a couple of decades ago; that's what I concluded from F.R.I.E.N.D.S) and that's why I'm amazed by such a change!
The westerners want more threading and Easterners think waxing (especially for facial hair) is actually better!
it's not, at least for me! but I just thought this might be worth sharing with this topic ^_^
Content so real. I WISH I had this as a college freshman. Almost passed out trying to wax my own bikini line, too shy to go to the spa and have someone give me a Brazilian, never had heard of threading, allowed too many nail ladies to wax my upper lip. These are the lessons girls don't always get. Thanks for your videos u really destigmatize and demystify these grooming activities.
You're a true renaissance woman. I couldn't do this myself if my life depended on it. Great job.
Stumbled on your channel and you are by far one of the most informative creators on UA-cam. Your content is well researched and your format very professional. Thank you for putting out amazing content and keep up your amazing work!!

Video request - HOW TO GET RID OF DARKNESS on knees??!? And elbows but espesh knees 😫 help another brown girl out ahaha
scrubbing and moisturizing helps and baking soda with milk
I think she already has a video on that girl!
Tz Bonbon girl where!! I saw she had one on dark underarms but haven’t seen a knee one x
Leah K dark elbows, knees and thighs are usually caused by a lot of friction ( ie: your leaning on your elbows, sitting on your knees, your thighs are rubbing each other a lot). It’s also about dehydrated skin, elbows and knees especially are extremely dry areas so try to moisturise those areas especially twice a day. I rlly don’t know much about dark thighs :/ sorey
i had dark elbows from sitting at a desk for long hours and you can decrease them by exfoliating and moisturizing daily! i suggest doing both after a shower and try using an exfoliating cloth instead of harsh scrubs (i got weird bumps on my elbows from scrubs)
3:28 Alexandra: We're not ripping any skin off
Also Alexandra 3 seconds later : Rips skin off chin 😂😂

One of the best detailed video on UA-cam on this topic... You deserve the Oscars for this gal. Thank you for the video
U can use tape..in order to tighten stretch ur eye skin..it preety good works
but then you get wrinkles faster
Tape can be use to tighten skin while threading so as to avoid skin cut with thread on loose skin @
Never use regular tape people, if causes dehydration to the skins and it peels off a layer of your skin
Gurpinder Kaurghg Use the tape that is made for temporary face lifts and aesthetic purposes (you can buy it online) also moisturise beforehand to prevent your skin from being pulled too hard and causing premature wrinkles.
I’m so glad I learned this! It works better than shaving and causes less pain or redness than waxing/tweezing. It was hard at first, but I got used to it pretty quickly. This will be a useful skill
I’m sure you know you’re appreciated, girl, but I wanted to thank you very much for putting these videos out there. It’s not easy for women to admit they’re “not naturally” hairless and born without makeup ;) Thank you for taking time out of your life to help others! THAT is truly beautiful! ❤️

Oh I'm SO GLAD you did this video! I literally spend 1/2 my life hoarding back body hair. I'm with you on the brow thing -- that area I like to leave to the professionals. BUT if I can thread my own lip and chin, that would save me $$$ and cause less "trauma" to my skin!!! Thank you so much!!!
Without sounding or seeming creepy ...You seriously have the most perfect lips !Great tutorial! Thanks so much!
I really learned this in the past days, and I HIGHLY reccomend doing it fast. Just as she said. Cuz threading hurts! And it’ll hurt even more if you do it slow.
I'm jealous of how beautiful her eyes look
I'm a plucker.. 👀
Jill Rayes same
You can't pluck ur upper lip hairs though
Shave your upper lip hairs. They do not grow back thicker. I used wax.. creams.. all that shit burns my upper lip. I rather shave it than walk around with a burn mark for a week. Lol..
Jill Rayes I think everybody is different. I shaved my upper lip hair and they grew thicker. I like waxing them more.
@@jillrayes6700 threading the upper lip is much more better and effective than shaving it (in my opinion at least) the burn spots only last for few hours like 1 or 2 and the pain is bearable.. I'm sensitive skin but it doesn't make me shout out loud or go nuts

I miss getting my eyebrows threaded. Watching tons of great videos. I'm going to master threading during this quarantine. Demonstrating with the thicker thread helps. Thanks so much❤️!
Awww you’re so pretty!!! Thanks for this, I always wanted to learn how to do this, and you made it a very simple way to learn how. I was thinking- maybe you could use butterfly bandaids, they’re like 1.99$ for 30 ct. and stick one to the top of your skin above each brow about 2 inches up, those are made for keeping deep cuts closed until ya get to the hospital so I’m sure they’ll hold pretty well while your threading! Also- if your cutting yourself with the thread on your fingers, use a drop of nail glue and when your done, just peel it off. This worked for me when I had to protect my fingers from cuts from string while I was braiding it really fast into my hair. Love the video! Made me subscribe!!! Thanks so much!
Thank u for the bandaid tip, I was practicing threading, but the pain from it on my thumb was so bad that I just gave up, but now I think I’ll try it again! Thank you!

I'm learning how to thread my upper lip as well. It's so satisfying when you do it yourself - especially since some beauticians have started charging obscene prices just to have your upper lip and eyebrows threaded. I agree with you, your eyebrows are about tricky - with all the angles, but it can be done with lots of practice. Subscriber from South Africa.🙋💞
yusrah jamodien-majiet what do you do about the thread hurting your fingers?
Yaaasss girl! For years i went for threading appts and miss it so much! Became friends with the salon owner because I was there so regularly haha. I bought some thread awhile back to try it at home but realized I don’t know how to use it lol. You explain everything so well! xoxo
P.S. for those who talk about how much it hurts... you are so right!
But as my salon friend used to say, “ it’s the price we pay for beauty, heh?”

Those are some great tips ! I used to thread my upper lips and brow area a while back but I had to stop, for some reason I couldnt bear with the pain anymore after a while even though I was pretty used to it at first idk why and i spent hours trying to thread a small area nd the result wouldnt even be perfect caus i guess i was too scared to pull the thread each time, also the watery eyes and runny noise i got while doing it were annoying af xD but the worst were the breakouts afterwards, no matter what I did or tried i always got bumps and whiteheads all over the places i thread and these areas turn red and irritated af pfff i dont even wear makeup on my face and i have a solid skincare routine for sensitive skin so idk i d get that :( guess its just my skin :"( anyways thank you for showing this technique PROPERLY, it s a really good one and it s widely used in my country Morocco, i mean it s worth trying at least once !❤
Im that person that gets pimples or acne after getting my face threaded everytime. I started using a spray bottle with witch hazel and some tea tree oil mixed in it and it stopped completely. I spray it throughout the day before and after getting threaded. Try it and thank me later.

Seems alot more environmentally friendly than shaving or waxing.
i really don’t understand how you can do that, i tried for an hour and it doesn’t remove any hair, it just hurts.
Lipa Mwah .. Then shave it with a razor! And you’ll see it is 1000% better than threading and it doesn’t hurt at all. But for your brows you should thread for you to get a better shape. But when it comes to the moustache and other hair on the face just shave it. Your face will glow and become lighter. I do that alllllll the time. But wet the razor and don’t just shave it with a dry razor. It won’t come back as thick hair don’t worry it’s just a rumor! :)
