    Thank you for the clear, helpful and intelligent delivery. And thank you for avoiding the pitfall of joking, self aggrandizing, repetition and detouring. Your very pleasant mannerism and knowledge coupled with your ‘lessons learned” made this a delightful and helpful video. Bravo!

    If your handprinting at home with good oil based relief inks a decent tack reducer will help getting a press quality print

    Any recommendations on storage of finished prints, using oil based inks as the medium and acid free paper as the substrate?

    I'm just getting into block printing and I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, but I'm using the gray lino with wood backing and the print is picking up the texture of the lino. Is it bad lino? Has the ink gone bad (year old, water based)? Am I not using enough ink (I tried to add more but it didn't seem to matter)? I really love your videos! Just found them and glad I did :)

    Started out on woodblock with an exacto knife before I could afford the right materials. If I ever get arthritis that’s why.

    Loved the video. I'm definitely going to try the safe wash oil ink as I'm not happy with the results I'm getting with water based ink. Can you tell me the name of the paper you use, as I couldn't quite understand it in the video? Thanks!

    • @iceandsea5981

      I use khadi cotton rag paper or sea white recycled paper and more recently I have been using Japanese bamboo printmaking paper which I would also recommend

    As an alternative to the roller, can you potentially brush different colours of ink onto select areas on the soft pink lino so you can do multiple colours ?

    • @orion7741
      @orion7741 2 роки тому +1

      water based is great though, you just need to buy a higher quality ink. it is so much easier to work with and clean up than oil. the ink and the carving tools are the most important part of linoleum printing, so dont buy the cheap stuff!

    i think its a good video, but I think it would be better to title it as "beginner" tips. alot of this stuff is not that relevant after you get past beginner stages and some of the tips are not the best way of doing stuff, but you dont discover that until you have been printing for a while.
