    pearl white fires great in a refire. i admit i don’t experience pin holes with it at all unless i use a speckled clay body but retires often heal it for me

    Thanks so much. I like that you give the glaze names. I am amazed you don't write them down. My memory isn't good enough not to do that. I have been trying more spectrum glazes after seeing your stuff. The price is better. I use PSH glazes and have been very happy with the outcome and the price point. My favourite is Cobaltic Sea.
    So where do I go to check out your on line sales?

    These are gorgeous! When you say you did a band of something does that mean brushed on? So if you don't say dipped then that always means brushed? I've never done both on the one piece. I guess it wouldn't matter? Also do you have a recipe for the studio Cranberry (that you'd be happy to share 😊) or do you buy it? Thanks. Love your colours. Just so pretty.

    • @finklepottery704
      @finklepottery704  Рік тому

      Hi there. Yes a band usually means I brushed it on. I mix brush on and dipping glazes a fair amount. The cranberry glaze is a dry glaze from pottery supply house in canada. I bought it so long ago I’m not certain of their name for it or if it is discontinued. I looked on their site. I think it might be red wine but I’m not 100% certain.

    Beautiful work ! Have you ever used a Mr Clean magic eraser to wipe back underglaze that gets where you don’t want it….they work great !

      I have not! Thanks for the tip, I will try it. Do you need to rebisque if you use it on bisque?

    • @aprillemaster8142
      @aprillemaster8142 Рік тому +1

      @@finklepottery704 no you don’t need to rebisque the piece … just let it dry like a normal wipe off . It’s so cool !! Magic😉😃😃

    My gosh every dang piece is spectacular!!!! For the pieces that need to be retired because the glaze fired away on your bears, may I suggest you use stroke n coat in the texture and wipe back and then low fire them. That way you don’t have to worry about the midfire glazes running too much. I’m not sure if this is the only kiln you have but I happen to have a much smaller kiln that I can easily do this in. Just an idea. Thanks so much for sharing everything.

    Your studio white looks really nice. Like a satin finish. I should try it out. Does it cutlery mark easily?

    • @finklepottery704
      @finklepottery704  11 місяців тому

      I haven’t noticed any marking when I use it or had any feedback from customers. My guess is because it’s a satin, not matte, it is probably fine 😊

    These look fabulous. What did you use in the refires to make the glazes stick? Heat the clay up or glue or other methods?

    • @finklepottery704
      @finklepottery704  6 місяців тому

      Thanks! I actually just use glaze. A heat gun if I’m in a hurry. Also if I pull something out of the kiln that’s still warm and I know I’m going to reglaze I’ll put it on then. I found this video veryhelpful. ua-cam.com/video/AlEnF733UYg/v-deo.htmlsi=n5TwPCrDDjPrynCV

    Do you sift out some of the crystal chunks in your winter wood glaze??? Or is it a dipping formula? The brush on pints I get are alway way more brown speckled than yours. Like a lot more.

    • @finklepottery704
      @finklepottery704  10 місяців тому +1

      I don’t sift. I do a first dip in alabaster. Then I paint on one coat of winterwood. I prefer the fewer specks as well

Would you be able to tell me what video you listed your studio green recipe in Lisa?
