Nice one Alan what a lovely place when I first saw it I thought it was in the Elan valley. Some lovely photos to to go home with keep up the good work Trev
Thanks Trevor. Strangely enough I went for a quick spin up to the Elan Valley today with my lad who hasn't been there before. Clarwen was closed off because of tree fall but we managed to visit the rest. It was very cold, very windy and very wet but we did catch some light up on Craig Goch - couple of pics on my FB page will show you what it was like. :) Thansk for the watch.
Another lovely location Al, I do enjoy seeing a bit of drone footage to really show the area and give some context etc. This was my coffee break watch, thanks very much for that 😊 Good to see you out and about!
Morning buddy, apologies for the late reply - I seem to have missed loads of comments to reply to. As I write this I have just caught up on your latest day of the Camino...stunning walk and I am right jealous..... Thanks for the watch & glad you enjoyed a little bit of Wales with that coffee break... atb Al
Good Morning Chris, hope you are well - how is the covid situation down under now? We have come out of all lockdowns (some say too early to lift all restrictions?) so some sort of normality in this "new world" commences. I have somewhat thought about putting my camera away for a while as I have had no inclination to get out and take pics but I was glad I did - it will hopefully lift the winter blues I have had a while. atb Al
It was indeed Nev.. he messaged me on his way there the other week and I have had it on my mind to get back there since. I was due to go last week but plans changed on the day before and I ended up in the central beacons. Atb Al
Morning Anthony, that's actually the 1st time I have done any sort of walking for about 6 week - I have gone back into hermit mode again sadly but hoping that will have kicked my arse into gear 🙂 Hope you are well up trhere and the weather was not too bad yesterday, lots of peoiple without electricity in the north I was told? atb Al
I must admit at first I thought you had lost the plot and was starting the video from the outhouse in your garden! 🤣 So glad I continued to watch. Some great images there Alan, well done 😍
Lol, my shed is about the sizeof that bothy - it has to be the smallest one in the UK I reckon ! Glad you liked the images Al, have to say getting out for a walk was the main objective so grabbing some images was a real bonus. I have even been contemplating putting the camera away for a while of late but was glad I took it. Atb Al
Some great landscape images Alan, love the rainbow capture. I love a good reservoir walk, I was out on Tues and it was really windy but quite sunny so was an interesting day of photography. Hope your keeping safe while Eunice passes through 👍
Thanks Chris. I was driving when I saw it and couldnt resist the chance to grabe a shot - from the side of the road - the fact I was up about 1600 ft helped with the vista 😅 I watched your res video yesterday and left a comment... nice one. Thanks for the watch n comment, much appreciated. atb Al
Someone's acquired a drone?! Loved the image of the water cascading over the dam. Wonderful composition with the trees top right hand side. Wonderful 5 min video mate. I was out on Tuesday from Llanthony and can report that my paramo kit held up very well indeed!!
It's footage from the trip Bill & I did this time last year - I found it whilst looking for some images from that trip & used it as the intro. He has acquired a new drone and I was going to buy his old one but my Panasonic S5 is in the repair shop after the flip screen became lose - it fell onto a rock whislt camping in Pembs last summer. The money now has to pay for that repair 😞 You love that paramo kit I know but was you still wearing shorts, knowing you I would say yes, lol. How many miles did you do? That is my fave image too bud, I caught some light as I was walking up and strangely it is very similar to an image I took a good few years ago. I should plan my walks so I am coming down that path when the afternoon light is good as it had pretty much disappeared by the time I got to the bothy. Bumped into a BB & longtown ranger whilst I was in the CP - their Black Mountains Challenge is back on for this year he said and it's fully booked already - it's a major part of their fundraising so thats good. atb Al
@@morgs4mountains 12 miles for you is not worth getting out of bed for..lol 🤣 The weather has kicked in again up here this morning. Jack is on his way from Cardif and the plan was to get out with the cameras and a walk... not sure that is a good idea in this.
Beautiful spot Alan, in an area which I never got around to walking in sadly. The bothy looks like a very inviting sight if you happened to be there during Eunice, glad you had a quieter time!
Good Morning Allan, tahnks for the watch. It's one of my fave parts of the beacons to be honest - I find that although the mountains are not so photographic in that area the solitude in the walks thgere are much more rewarding. The bothy is a good shelter but I reckon it wouldn't hold more than 2 or 3 people. There is a spot just over the river that many wild camp at rather than use the bothy. atb Al
Some lovely images Alan, who doesn't like a rainbow, really liked the last image at 4:35 showing the bothy with the s curve of the river, very nice, Stay safe during the storm, Kent has also been issued a RED warning for today as well. Take care mate
Good Morning Lee, I hope you have woken this Saturday morning to no major damage from the storm? Many places reporting it wasn't as bad as they forecast yet other places had it really bad. It's still raining hard here this morning but the wind has dropped for sure. Gald you like the images and thanks for the visit - much appreciated. atb Al

So good to see the Reservoir from above Alan. I immediately saw our family down below in the 70's. What a place - the shot showed great perspective. It would have been a good valley once. Good to see you at the Bothy. Lovely photos mate. Well, hope you're well. Mark
Good Morning Mark, actuall its a very early good morning here as its 4am and having one of my can't sleep nights, lol. I take it from your comment its a place you visited with the family then? @@thevalleywalker Hey there Alan, we like early morning so long as they're not to consistent eh? Thanks mate. I have never done it but I guess you can. There are a couple of run offs from the mountain but I don't think they are too big for crossing. Absolutely stunning landscape and some beautiful photos Alan. I loved the shot at 2:45 looking down the roadway with the giant trees off to the left, as well as the image of the reservoir at 3:46. Stay safe during Storm Eunice tomorrow! I know all about hurricanes being here in Florida, and Eunice looks like a good one, especially along the coast from what I am reading.
Good Morning Paul. Still raining hard here this morning but I think we are over the worst of any stroms for the time being. Thankfulkly our area didnt get it as bad as the forecast but many did with trees and structual damage happening. Hi Adrian, thanks fro dropping by. Took that enroute to the res, it was literally jump out of the car and grab a shot - mind the view at that spot was worth the stop too, lol. Talking of rainbows I took my youngest lad out with is camera a few days ago and whilst we were out he was doing some video on his mobile of a dam in Mid Wales and a rainbow formed whilst we stood there.. it was amazing to watch and sadly I just put my camera away so missed it - it appeared only moments.
