    Why is everyone saying this is abusive? All horses have there ups and downs, the saddle was correctly fitted, the rider wasn’t doing anything bad, plus she didn’t show any signs of nervousness when she was mounting. Probably just one of those days. Plus that is one good seat of her.

    Just something to consider... Horses don't speak English so therefore communicate differently when something is wrong. Bucking is a good indicator "something" is wrong. It could be a painful joint that only hurts when there is extra weight on their back... It could be a bad attitude day... It could be not liking or understanding "who" is on their back... 🤷‍♀️ But a horse LABELED as a "bucking horse" has a definite issue. 👍 Having watched the video a few times it doesn't appear to me the horse has an issue with the person. It is only when she asked him or her to move, so I hope the owners have checked for a potential health issue like bad joints. That stuff is just as genetic for horses as people. If not a health issue that horse has most likely learned a very nasty habit of how to get out of being ridden. 👍

    And who was that girl to stay on that power pack and keep her balance so incredilbly well?
    Did she expect Harley to buck and had experienced such a ride before - or was she caught by surprise by such a bronco?

      Heinz Stoffregen. The weekend before he impaled himself with a tpost right behind his sheath. it was a good size hole. About 3" deep and 4"inches long. This was his trainer, he had spent the past 60 days being worked with, at her facilities. He had 10 rides on him before this one. Previous to this episode he had just had his wound cleaned out and quickly run through his normal lunging routine. There were people interested in buying him, they were in a hurry to see him ridden. Well I think with the rushing, and the wound, it just led to him having a meltdown. I did speak with his vet and he said it was most likely the wound that caused that. He is now healing up nicely and still being worked with regularly. And no I have not ridden him.

      Hi, Heinz Stoffregen. Re why the bucking started after 15 sec: when you tip the horse's nose to one side, the horse can't buck. This bend was somewhat more than tipping, leading me to think the trainer had at least an inkling that this might happen. Excellent riding after the bucking started, however.

    • @countrycuts5796
      @countrycuts5796 3 роки тому +6

      @@beverlywilcox4349 the bending is called lateral flexion... it should be done after mounting and before you ask the horse to move on. It is really helpful to prevent a horse from walking off while trying to mount. It is also very helpful to soften a horse, and make sure that he is accepting the rider as a leader. It is also used to teach the one rein stop and to take the bucking or rearing power away from the horse. Why the trainer didn't use it, to take the buck away, by yielding his hindquarters and laterally flexing him, I will never know, it seemed like she did a great job up till than.

    Anyone think this horse might be hurting? I think a physical is in order and so is the chiropractor. It could be that once the rider is fully in the saddle the pressure is on the pain points. If he's been checked and nothing pans out, then you have the wrong trainers.

      There was a really beautiful bay gelding i used to ride at my local stable as a kid. He’d pull this stuff with anyone else but me. I didn’t tolerate it. First time i got on he took into a canter and when i didn’t get off immediately he figured “okay... i’m not getting this one off.” Never had an issue after.

      @Lucena Stauffer exactly. Honestly if a horse does give an attitude it’s much easier to bond deeper with them. They show more personality and you have a better time bonding. I have rarely met a horse who i didn’t like.
      There was a white pony called trixsie. She always cause trouble hence her name but if you were a new inexperienced rider she could tell and was always well behaved. She just liked being a booger to the better riders.

      While there is a possibility of the horse having pain issues, i doubt that is what went on...obviously he has just been started or restarted, and tested her. Sometimes it is just what it looks like..a horse testing the rider...horses dont always buck or act up because they have issues like pain..

  • @extraincomesuz
    @extraincomesuz 3 роки тому +1

    Check under your saddle and the pad for anything that could poke him. Also, run your hands all over the area the saddle goes to see if he has a sore back. My horse had a saddle sore and would dip or wiggle the skin depending on how agressively I prodded the area. There was no indication of the sore until months later after it healed (I used a gel pad temporarily) and it showed a white tuft of hair where the sore place was. Your horse is definitely hurting somewhere and it has to do with pressure as he moves because he doesn't mind you getting on. I hope this helps!

  • @ktgodwin100
    @ktgodwin100 3 роки тому +7

    Something is bothering him...either the saddle blanket or cinch has something on it sticking him or the saddle is pinching because it doesn't fit right. Usually, with mutton withered horses (foundation Morgans tend to be mutton withered), the saddle pinches at the withers because they are so wide and the saddle isn't wide enough for the withers.

Maybe now he gets ridden, gets pats and put away in his nice paddock with feed and water...kill pens are a sad place full of horses who people thought petting and treats were more important than manners.
