I think Axl is kind of a perfectionist which has led to some of the incidents and blow ups he has had. He expects a lot of himself and it seems like he wants things to work a certain way and when they don't he would blow up at people.
The sound guy, security people, the lighting person. It seems like it wouldn't take much to set him off back in the day.
I think he grew up and mellowed a lot over the years.
I can't imagine coming from a dysfunctional household in the Midwest and then all of a being rock star Axl Rose in his twenties with the whole world at his feet in the middle of a rock n roll circus.I'd probably not handle it that well either.
That's so true, guess he found his balance in the end, could have gone either way and I'm happy he's well now. I'm even of the rare breed who like "Chinese democracy", some great music there and you can feel he's a perfectionist even now. Maybe even more so. Guess he's just learned to deal with himself - wisdom of age and all.
His vocal range is crazy, each time he talks I'm shocked of how deep his normal talking voice is...damn
He's got one of the best voices in Rock music ever!
Very intelligent individual axl is really .Can tell by how articulate he is with his words
Think his introspection and profound nature helped him survive and actually thrive post (old) GNR.
Axl always struck me like a profound person, cool, thanks for posting!
true...
Thank you for sharing this thoughtful interview.
The fact he mentions Double Talkin' Jive here is golden.
Yeah, really love that bit!
Thank you for sharing this. I didn't know it existed and gives me even more insight into Axl and Guns N' Roses.
Was quite a suprising discovery, I was simply looking for a CD to fit the player :)
@@technostalgism Made Me Happy! You Rock. smiles
in like 90 i worked for a promotional company basically owned by MtV and we did the Axl condo giveaway if u remember that, i was a grunt because i was a kid but i got to meet Axl and he was nice but called me the wrong name lol..i didn't correct him.
That's so cool! The memories these things bring back, you lucky guy! Axl always seemed to me more profound than the mainstream culture would paint him, isn't it?
How was he like irl?
Thanks for posting this rare gem
Happy for people to find this, quite an intimate interview, stumbled across this by mistake.
Muito legal escutar essa gravação desse tempo...diz muito sobre AxL e a banda
I’ve got this on vinyl
That's so cool😄 what record is that? Would love to see / hear it too
@@technostalgism Hey just to say in the late-80s a friend had Lies on cassette and this exact interview was included after the last song on Side B; we were in South Africa but am not sure if the tape was the local version (the relevant SA item is sought-after on Discogs now, but the entry doesn't mention this interview) or an import - but clearly it cropped up here and there on various formats around the world as a bonus at the time.
thanks for sharing! you got more?
Very cool
❤
Remember axl...you cannot control people, places, or things! Lol
Why are there hard encoded subtitles?
What?
