Really loved this poetic video. My dad bought the rs4 b5 back in 2000 from the first moment it was released. I barely turned 4 back then. I basically grew up in this car and have some great memories about trips I got to go on with my dad. At the age of 14, my dad basically never touched it again. The car itself has just over 100,000km. He promised me that it would be mine once I graduated from grad school. Now I'm 24 and got my master's degree, I drive this car proudly and treat it like it's my child since it's been part of the family for such a long time💙

I have a B5 RS4 spec sedan. The internet says it's unreliable but I daily drove mine to 200,000 miles. I've had it for years and I am happy every single time I drive it.
No, I have an S4 modified to match RS+ spec (close to yours). I drive my car into the ground because I know it is mine forever and I will fix it. I have a simple Stage 2+ B5 S4 with 250,000 miles on it that I daily as my sales car. I put no less than 20,000 miles per year on it and it's still running like it's brand new. I could never see myself getting rid of my car (until we can get a B5 RS4 in the US, at least).
What a great car, respect! I still drive A4 B5, taking good care of it and serves me great, never had major issue with the car, still original engine and transmission. I Love all S and RS Audi's but really this B5 RS is something special!!! BTW Great vid as always!
What a heartfelt tribute, what video poetry and what a car. I owned a B6 S4 for a long long time, lovely V8 and lovely sound but the maintenance cost is steep. My current ride is a BMW M2 but I would rank the BMW 1M Coupe as my all time favourite car. Still, having owned B6 S4, B8.5 S4 and Mk.6 Golf R, I still have a softspot for unique VAG/Audi cars...
I actually traded my VO 1M @ 20k miles towards a 6MT MG M2 @ MSRP. And my 1M went to a good home, a 17+ car collector guy owns it now. The 1M really has a irreplicable viceral feeling when you push it but also never boring to drive slowly with all the tactile steering & chassis feedback. I guess the only drawback of the 1M is the silly seat height and arguably doesn't sound as good as the M2 with MP Exhaust. To this day I often wonder if my move was a mistake, lol. Are you on the 1Addict forum? I've been organizing old pictures and I've found quite a few that'd be good to share on the forum.
Its always nice to hear someone talk so passionately about their car and its especially nice when its an Audi they're talking about. The design of the B5 RS4 was ahead of its time and because of that it will remain timeless. Its too bad we don't get the Avant in the U.S.

The rs4 b5 is one of the best sporty cars I could imagine. At the beginning of this year I bought my self my dream car for the time: a a4 allroad b8 facelift. My father brought me to my passion about Audi. He had a a4 b7 avant with a 3.0 tdi and was so proud of this car. After he passed away a few years ago I was determined to get a car which would make me happy as same as him. So here I am owning the son of my father's car. (Best decision I ever made)

A 04' S60 2.5t is the only quick European sedan I've ever had and I loved it. The R, like so many fast versions around that time, didn't look much different than the regular versions and I think that's awesome. I think that's why many faster car didn't try to keep up with me, unlike every japanese car I've owned. Some day I've have an R.
Dude you totally speak out of my soul talking of your car and what it means to you. It's 'only' a B6 S4 but also an Avant, same nogaro colour, same carbon interior, same seats.. They're so different but yet share so many details and little things that just make the car special. Glad you love your wagon just as much and will definitely keep it 'til the End!

Although the B5 RS4 is an absolute beast and beauty, my heart will always go for the original RS, the RS2 in Nogaro Blue. The first true sleeper station wagon and the car that sent off Audi's 20V 5 cylinder in a glory of sound and power. To this day, the RS2 is still my ultimate dream car. THAT car is my dreamcar too. I really love the RS4 B5 Avant. Since I was a child and I knew this car playing a Gran Turismo game, I've felt in love with the "stock sleeper" type of cars. I own an Audi A5 B8 Sprotsback 2.0TDi Quattro, and although i love the heck out of it, it has too much electronics for my taste to be a favoritt. The B5 was the perfect car, and still is in my honest opinion 😊 Though id love to own a C7 3.0BiTDi Avant in the near future 😉

Great video because of the words spoken in general. I'm one of the rare breeds who both appreciate Audi, Mercedes and BMW. My current love affair is a E92 335i running 410 whp and perfectly useable for everyday driving as well as weekend fun!
My grandfather had an A4 B5, 420000km, still running like a clock. Unfortunately he died to cancer, so, the best gift I''ve ever had, was from him, he offered me an A3 8L. It is my baby and i'll neve sell it. Wish you all the best Audi brothers!
Man it puts a tear in my eye. Am current owner of a4 b7 1.8t petrol. I like it and am planning to progress to rs4 b5 2.7bi turbo. But the way you feel about Audi rs4 b5 is the way I feel about Mitsubishi evolution. I can't put in to words of how much impact it has on me and the desire i have for it. Am 26 now and insurance companies won't insure me closest I got is, 28 years of age. It pains me everyday to not have it sitting outside my window. But just like you buddy I will strive for it and I will get it. Amazing video and I hope you have achieved your dream.
I too always craved owning a B5 RS4, however, I have now owned my B5 S4 for 20 years and after 303k miles realise I will never be separated from it. As you rightly say the shape is classic, timeless and not trying to hard like many modern Audis. The 2.7l V6 is a peach of an engine and I love the fact that it a 6 speed manual so I still have complete control over the car. Every winter I put winter tyres on her and feel invincible (and some what smug) as I can drive with virtually the same commitment as in the summer.
My dream car was either a AMG estate or RS 4 avant. I bought a AMG C32 estate in Purple. now i have got my ultimate car. A RSQ3 Like you're RS4 avant in is awesome.

I agree dude. I have to own one of these one day. Not too far off, but I live in Australia and there aren't that many here. The maintenance is also slightly concerning but this is a decision with the heart after all. As soon as I knew of and saw an RS4 in 2000, I was hooked. I mean, what is cooler than a super practical wagon that will challenge a 911 turbo! I first had a ride in one in the Austrian alps during the ski season but it was spring so the roads were dry. The RS4 in question was slightly modified by the owner to just under 500hp... and to this day I don't think I have been in a car with that much thrust, flying up the twisty mountain road... I was absolutely blown away and my life has never been the same since that ride. I was and am hooked! I love the current RS6 too so maybe I will need both! haha... thanks for the great video... you can really feel your passion for the car.

Dude you totally speak out of my soul talking of your car and what it means to you. It's 'only' a B6 S4 but also an Avant, same nogaro colour, same carbon interior, same seats.. They're so different but yet share so many details and little things that just make the car special. Glad you love your wagon just as much and will definitely keep it 'til the End!

Although the B5 RS4 is an absolute beast and beauty, my heart will always go for the original RS, the RS2 in Nogaro Blue. The first true sleeper station wagon and the car that sent off Audi's 20V 5 cylinder in a glory of sound and power. To this day, the RS2 is still my ultimate dream car. Thank you for this amazing video and the story behind your truly special car! Keep doing what you do best!

THAT car is my dreamcar too. I really love the RS4 B5 Avant. Since I was a child and I knew this car playing a Gran Turismo game, I've felt in love with the "stock sleeper" type of cars. Sadly, I can't afford one of them, but I will have the little brother... A B5 2.4 V6 tomorrow. Congrats for the car!!!

I own an Audi A5 B8 Sprotsback 2.0TDi Quattro, and although i love the heck out of it, it has too much electronics for my taste to be a favoritt. The B5 was the perfect car, and still is in my honest opinion 😊
Though id love to own a C7 3.0BiTDi Avant in the near future 😉

Unfortunately he died to cancer, so, the best gift I''ve ever had, was from him, he offered me an A3 8L.

Man it puts a tear in my eye. Am current owner of a4 b7 1.8t petrol. I like it and am planning to progress to rs4 b5 2.7bi turbo. But the way you feel about Audi rs4 b5 is the way I feel about Mitsubishi evolution. I can't put in to words of how much impact it has on me and the desire i have for it.
Am 26 now and insurance companies won't insure me closest I got is, 28 years of age. It pains me everyday to not have it sitting outside my window.
But just like you buddy I will strive for it and I will get it. Amazing video and I hope you have achieved your dream.

I too always craved owning a B5 RS4, however, I have now owned my B5 S4 for 20 years and after 303k miles realise I will never be separated from it. As you rightly say the shape is classic, timeless and not trying to hard like many modern Audis. The 2.7l V6 is a peach of an engine and I love the fact that it a 6 speed manual so I still have complete control over the car. Every winter I put winter tyres on her and feel invincible (and some what smug) as I can drive with virtually the same commitment as in the summer.
Enjoy that S4 B5! It's a gem. Maybe you can have both in the future ☺

I agree dude. I have to own one of these one day. Not too far off, but I live in Australia and there aren't that many here. The maintenance is also slightly concerning but this is a decision with the heart after all. As soon as I knew of and saw an RS4 in 2000, I was hooked. I mean, what is cooler than a super practical wagon that will challenge a 911 turbo! I first had a ride in one in the Austrian alps during the ski season but it was spring so the roads were dry. The RS4 in question was slightly modified by the owner to just under 500hp... and to this day I don't think I have been in a car with that much thrust, flying up the twisty mountain road... I was absolutely blown away and my life has never been the same since that ride. I was and am hooked! I love the current RS6 too so maybe I will need both! haha... thanks for the great video... you can really feel your passion for the car.
