Thanks for this video. I am wanting to add a container pond to my yard and have been wondering about overwintering. It seems you just keep it there all season - love it. Thanks again.
Years ago we had some wapato in an old bathtub 'pond' (plus a goldfish) have been thinking of growing some again - thanks for sharing your simple set up!
I read about arrowhead in Eric Toensmeier's Perennial Vegetables and am excited to try it. We bought a pond former today to make into a wildlife pond but I hope to grow edible plants in there too. Thank you for sharing!
Very informative video and thank you so much for sharing your research about wapato. How often do you change the water in these tubs you use for cultivation?
Awesome video. I found my first patch of Wapato today. Why do you store them for the winter? Is it just so you can eat them when you’re ready to eat them, or to plant them in the next growing season? Thanks for the info!
Thanks for the demonstration. I've been eager to get these buddies going in my life.

Looks like a great habitat for mosquitoes!
The duckweed on the surface will help keep them at bay, plus the amphibians he mentions will eat them. You could add a few small fish if uncertain
What zone are you at ?
We are in Denmark, zone 7 but the tubes are hardy to much colder zones too.
With the high starch content I bet you could make a decent vodka out of them.

Great Im glad you enjoyed it. We dont change the water ever, but at certain times of year it overflows due to more rain than evaporation.

Cold area gardens don't produce in winter so if you don't have produce capable of winter storage you don't have food.
