I actually love the Monsterverse movies. People get far too critical of every little detail, but while I'm in the theater watching, I'm having a blast! Needless to say, I'm super hyped for Monarch. Apple TV+ has released some of my favorite shows this year (Silo, For All Mankind, Foundation, etc.), and hoping this will follow in their footsteps.
I'm the same, loved all of them so I couldn't help but feel a bit disappointed by Monarch if you want my honest opinon. I love what AppleTV+ are doing btw, quality over quantity as opposed to Netflix.
I'm not impressed, so far. Nor was I impressed by Shin Godzilla which I didnt see until last week. It was HIGHLY overrated to me. But I'm gonna go ahead and treat Legacy like I did Game of Thrones...I didn't get into it until probably the 4th episode. Thing about Legacy is that the characters are the same ol bullshit you see in modern film---all males are CONSTANTLY emasculated by the female characters at every opportunity. The female characters are wooden as hell, Mary Sue-ish and have no depth. The attempts at Marvel style humor need to GO. The tech girl could be totally omitted. If she regularly spoke japanese, she mightve fit and had something interesting about her, but she just looks like a shoe-horned, "diversity" type of character as-is. The constant jumping around the story arcs was sloppy as hell, overuse of cue music (as usual in most cinema) needs to GO. Yeah, right now, the show is clunky as hell, but I wanna give it a chance.
Way to early to tell I thought it was good for the first two episodes thought the order when they went back in time should have been the other way around. Being in the Phillipines first then in Kaza would have been better
I've seen 8 episodes for that review, I agree that the jumping around in time/places is a bit much at times. They ask us to get invested in a lot of storylines and characters.
I am struggling to finish episode 9 and 10, it doesn't really get better from here which is a shame. So excited to see Godzilla: Minus One next so it can erase the memory of Monarch.
The most gangster roar
King of the Monsters is awesome.

Boring character stories took up all the monster battle budget.

This isn't even scheduled to be out until the 17th 😮
AppleTV+ sent episode 1 to 8 to critics.
@@matthieucote2272 Thank you for explaining.
Is it true that the serie is inspired by true events ?
This show looks pretty but is awful. The bickering back and forth between the protagonist.

Godzilla -1 was spectacular.@@matthieucote2272
This guy's intro pretty much sets me up to be like... whoa I hope he doesn't like Monarch cause that means I will.
was it the part where I said "alright so I'm back"?
@@matthieucote2272 Yes! But not that you said it. It was how you said it. So cocky. Like ha ha ha... look at me... I can commit to things. Show off.
