@@christopherhayles4214 He had a different approach which garnered him the nickname Mr. Goodtrouble. He wasn't against causing good trouble against unconstitutional laws. Nobody is perfect but this man was a great man no less

Sad that he lived decades past this amazing speech, and era, and yet still not see the change he'd wanted.
At least he knew that the people were *finally* waking up, before he left us

If you read what he had to say about it, he saw some changes that made him proud. Not nearly enough, but very significant according to him. These actions were not in vain.

Provide for the homeless and starving for this Nation. That speaks volumes.
Who caught that? If anyone was listening. He's a righteous man who cares about the all people.
He care about the big man and the small man.

The youngest Speaker at the 1963 March on Washington and he gave one of the most searing, soaring & eloquently powerful speeches of the day. Sometimes I wonder if he must have felt a little deflated by the end of the day since, after giving such a memorable oration, ALL anyone will remember & be talking about was "Martin and his dream"! :-)
There will be other African American politicians and good ones too, but Congressman John Lewis is simply irreplaceable! A void in the universe exists where he once stood. Rest In Peace John R. Lewis of Georgia/Alabama!!

Such a tragic loss....Johns words that day could quite easily relate to today and the horrific persecution of black that continues....nothing has changed. FGS stand together and fight for all black citizens to be treated as Americans, not as black 😢

John Lewis sure was looking young here. I had no idea it was him, by looks alone. Great speech. But it is so sad, the more things change the more they stay the same xx number of years later.
