Jayden is most certainly a 4.5 guy. Like you guys said most don’t understand how fast a 4.5 is. But more importantly what doesn’t seem to be understood is that Jayden is quicker than he is fast. He reaches top speed almost instantly. And THAT is his super power. By the time the 4.3 guy can catch him he’s already ran over 40 yards.

We knew starting the season CB was our weakest position, that is why AP traded for Lattimore. St J is not a #2 CB but he is the 2nd best we can field when Lattimore is out; quit hating on him, just thank our lucky stars, AP, for Mikey!
I'd like to see 1 or 2 rookie corners and a vet added. Have the room be Latt, Sainristill, Iggy, 2 rooks and a FA vet. With lattimore's injury history we need some extra

And Fowler had 10 sacks this year as well. Secondary play has been an issue all season. And think about the WR's in the division that you have to see twice a year.
You could also get a corner in free agency. The upcoming has some good ones like Reed from the Jets, Paulson Adebo, Asante Samuel Jr(injury concerns me), some others. Get one of these guys and you can reasonably get another in like Rd 3. I would like a vet Edge who is a problem, but it's not in this free agency. So try to get a rook who will be very good in the future.
We also don't have Quan today. That hurts and I don't mean Jalen. I think we just elevated a corner from the practice squad, but I don't know anything about him. If he was better than Juste, I should think they would've elevated this guy sooner.
I honestly felt BSJ was solid (average) early in the season. Based on what I saw from Davis I didn’t feel BSJ should have played behind him. Maybe Davis had a better week of practice 🤷🏾. Even if I don’t always understand every decision, I do trust this staff to do what’s in the best interests of the team. I think BSJ definitely has a confidence issue. He also has garnered a rep with the officials that has resulted in at least a couple questionable flags.
Craig marriota and hurts ran a 4.5. I’ve never seen them move like JD5 on 4th and 11 or JD5 Florida 80 yard run. For reference fields and tyrod are 4.4 guys and we wouldn’t put them in Lamar or Jayden’s category of speed, explosivity or quickness. Even AR15 who is very fast still is thought of as more of power runner.
Recalling the great history the Washington franchise enjoyed at the corner position (Green, Smoot, Bailey, Hall, Springs, etc.), it has been disappointing to say the least that that position continues to leave our defense vulnerable to any QB we might face. It will be nice to think we could address this gap in the offseason (draft or free agent), and I have confidence that AP will address this for next year. Lattimore injury is worrying and now I am afraid he might not be available for Tampa...let's hope for good news here!
We should have never gotten Lattimore but we desperately need him for the playoffs. I really did want Washington making a deal for Lattimore because the last several seasons have shown he cannot stay healthy and has missed more games than he's played over that time. I'm hoping for the best and that he gets healthy and stays that way throughout the rest of his career 🫰
Idc what anyone says BSJ played great against the cowboys this time around. For some reason he has a giant target painted on his back with PI calls cuz every play near the end of the game was clean. Refs were bogus as hell for a couple of those calls.
Refs don’t give St Juice any breaks, he gets calls against him others get away with, he plays hard and makes many tackles, much better than Mike Davis.
I don't think BSJ is as bad as people claim. He's not a shutdown corner, and his cap is probably as an okay outside corner you put on the #2 WR, but he's always going to have trouble when he's forced to cover the quicker WR's of the league. I think he's gotten better, and he played a good game yesterday against Dallas - he did get those 2 calls against him, but I don't think he deserved either. The first call was holding and I think it was accurate but 'ticky-tacky'; BSJ initiated his hold within 5 from the LOS but didn't let go until ~6 yards down the field. IMO, it's the same hold committed by CBs on nearly every play, but hardly ever called. The second PI call was just a bad call because it was mutual hand-fighting, and he definitely got his head back to 'go for the ball.' BSJ isn't going to be a 6 interceptions-a-season type of defender, and just like an OL starter, the best you can hope is that you don't hear the announcers say BSJ's name.
I'm a Washington fan and I think BSJ deserved both calls, he was holding on for life on the 1st call and on the next call although he did atleast look back for the ball he was holding on the inside with his left hand and had his right arm completely wrapped around the receivers back holding on several to early. St. Juste gives everything he has but makes to many mistakes, he gets picked on by every qb we play, he gets burnt by every receiver he covers, he makes big mistakes in key moments and he cannot tackle in space by himself to save his life. That's just my opinion anyways. We definitely need a few Cb's picked up in the off-season, can't count on Lattimore for the future either because he's missed more games than he's played over the last couple seasons. Why not shift Quan Martin back down to Corner? Our back up safeties (Forest/butler) are combined better than bsj/Davis, no?
