Two things I love about having a 401K is that usually you get matching from the company (5% in my case) and my contributions are automatically taken out.
I’ve been 100% in the S&P 500 Index for 34 years and my balance is $3.5 million and that’s after withdrawals of $52K a year. Beginning salary was $22K a year. Employer had 5% match and I built it up to maxing out after a few years. Never moved money around to time the market. Ending salary was $142K after 30 years.
Hi there, good video on this. Also do you use vanguard platform? What brokerage platform do you use.? I am trying to find a good one and seems like it's mostly fidelity and scwab..
I've used most of them. If you want to stick with one of the big traditional platforms then I like Fidelity. If you want to use one of the newer more user friendly platforms then I like M1 Finance.
I'm 34 making six figures and my current investing amount of 40% and 10% savings rate. Team no kids, no wife, no debt (besides small mortgage) = easy life. FI/RE by 40.
@@JarradMorrow dang bruh, spelling does affect someone's credibility, he is right. Your response seemed a bit cutting and harsh, but maybe I just misinterpreted it.
My response was acknowledging and poking fun at an honest spelling mistake from my editor who lives outside the country. I promise it’s not the end of the world if he did it by accident so chill out 😂
@JarradMorrow ok gotcha, makes sense. Honestly don't think I even noticed it so yeah, it really wasn't a big deal, just wanted to make sure you weren't completely dismissing the effect it could have, cuz I don't think it's zero, but it is small
Thank you for explaining Median vs Average. I still see a lot of people only focusing on the average.
No problem. I have a secret hatred for average numbers because they can be extremely misleading 😂
Thanks Jarrad for all your efforts & great info !
Most people aren't saving or investing at all. It's pretty sad
Tbf they may have come from generations that lost their money if they didn't use it on physical goods

Absolutely love watching your videos. I've done my best to be a super saver for years. I'm right there with you at 100% index funds.

Thank you too!
How do I go from construction worker to software engineer so I could invest 60% of my paycheck?
Heeeyy Jarrad! Are you still active on the Discord group?
Are these income ranges for people pre or post tax salary?

I used to have Fidelity and Vanguard. I found Fidelity to be much easier to use, and so I now only use Fidelity.

He didn’t even print all the pages. They are all blank. Terrible joke.
Look closer
@@JarradMorrow but we're too poor for 1080p!
Jk. Bro I have a girlfriend now. Life is moving so fast, I can't even be bothered at my -30% SOXL loss 😅
2 BEFENITS ? Misspelling in capital letters doesn't help your creds.
Have Molly spell check for you
Good thing this isn't a spelling bee channel or else I'd be in trouble
