Paul, your respect for the sea is spot on. Gear that some may call silly looking will assure your safe return. Awesome RIB. Been out of boating for a few years, and the tech has really advanced. Great choice on the Suzy outboard. I repowered my vintage Boston Whaler Nauset with a Suzuki 90 4 stroke. Best engine in its class with a great power to weight ratio. Looks like I need to visit Brighton in the near future.
9This is why you buy a boat and do it properly. ( or a bike, super car etc.) Lots of mistakes can be avoided if you keep it safe (including experience start off slowly) Love it.
Great Video Paul! That looks like a lot of fun! Be careful not to travel into a “No Manbun Zone” I wouldn’t want to see your Son-in-law get into any trouble
Im really impressed over your ability to make yourself as secure as possible whatever happens on sea! Really! Im and old sailor (sail racing) and I am scared to death of the sea, absolutely hate being in it (love being one it), and just love boating! I NEVER trust anybody else then myself as a captain on board in a boat. I would make an exception For Paul Thorpe, I never thought that would happened in my life, trust another person at sea! That is a BIG compliment to you Paul. (I've done regatta sailing on top levels, almost started as a professional for the cigarette brand "Merit".) If everybody took the same security measurements as Paul, almost nobody would die at sea anymore!
That would be a great tender for our 38 sportfish.. looks like fun. I have a 12ft zodiac with a 35 merc now and it moves along very well, I can't imagine 200hp !
You should get yourself a portable epirb , very good bit of kit and may save your life if you ever end up going over board , especially when it’s rough. Nice rib 👍
You’re brave as hell going out on that being a nine swimmer! I can’t swim at all, and I made the mistake of going on the back of my girlfriend on a jetski in Gran Canaria, nearly fucking died, I should really learn to swim 🤣🤣
I remember the day before the Brighton show the ocean was wild, standing on the pier was nearly impossible as the wind and waves where insane. Better to be over prepared as the ocean doesn't give first warnings or second chances. I would give your son in law the business for the hair but being follicly challenged I wish I could do that. lol....
We need to let our hair down as they say.....wink wink! Something interesting to break the mundane lock down routine or were you going to the supermarket for your essentials Paul?
Nice boat, as someone who has taught powerboating for over 20 years nice to see someone taking safety seriously.
That's a dingy with an engine not a boat

That would be a great tender for our 38 sportfish.. looks like fun. I have a 12ft zodiac with a 35 merc now and it moves along very well, I can't imagine 200hp !

I really like the videos in which you show your other passions - motorcycles and boats.
Lovely setup Paul. What size plotter is that? Many thanks.
That looks like so much fun. Awesome image stabilisation on the footage :)
You're standing outside my summer flat in Newhaven @ 0:28 I see.
Should have come for a cuppa.
Nobody should laugh about wearing proper safety equipment when operating a vessel on the open ocean. As they say, how long can you tread water?
Very cool boat...Paul, could u not have gotten that suit in a tweed? Ha ha..... cheers
Absolutely FANTASTIC rib my friend!! New subscriber here in the 🇺🇲 states. Love your channel! Thanks!
Mint Paul,, living life, thats what it's about 👏

Paul, You need a proper sea jersey to stay warm.
Hope you have done your RYA seamanship qualifications!
You don’t need a boat Paul with all that gear on😂
