Love the tuition videos, they've helped immensely. I'd love to see one on boat handling for when you're caught in rough weather. My fear of taking my 28ft cabin cruiser out over a distance for a day is getting caught out and struggling to get back safely.
One tip that wasn't mentioned that will make these turns even faster is you can go to the settings and increase the playback speed. Personally, I use 1.5, and I was impressed with how fast Jon made the turns.
Another good thing to mention would be “hooking: when the trim isn’t all the way down or when a wave gets underneath the transom, the stern looses grip in the water and slides out of control digging the edge of the port or starboard sponson/hull in the sea which then throws it the opposite way dramatically. A big safety aspect of high speed turns I always talk about when teaching high speed turns and manoeuvres! Great video though.
This video-Beginner level driving Next video- Drop the port engine rpm while increasing the starboard and bank the vessel to port with the trim tabs now throw the steering wheel hard to the left and hold on. Join me next week on how to wash the bow of your boat and come to a complete stop in a jet drive powered vessel in under a second.
First of all, I love the series, but in my opinion, if your actually in a smaller boat (like -7mà, stuck in very rough weather (2,3,4m+ waves), this probably doesn't suffice, you'll have to turn a lot more aggressively to stay safe sometimes
I'm not a boatyard person bi enjoy watching your videos. IT would have been nice if you showed the wrong way, ie going into a turn with too much power.
Can’t beat some UA-cam tuition from the main man John 👌🏻

What you mean by trim down ? Down the engines on the water ?

Lennon, McCartney, Mendez.
I assume ease the throttle is ease down on the throttle. Just making sure you mean slow down a bit going into the turn.

Thats not how Sonny Crockett does it. Very nice tutorial
