gotta love that the very fist sentence echoes the one of the first game
-From the moment I understood the weakness of my flesh, it disgusted me
-From the moment I first witnessed the interlopers, they disgusted me
the ending also echoes the end of the intro of the first game
-for the machine is immortal
-for we are immortal
I never saw the original trailer before this so I didn't make that connection. After going back and watching it I think it's a really masterful transition.

There's also a necron campaign in Battlefleet Gothic: Armada 2, but in general, yeah, not many games from the necrons' POV.
Definitely looking forward to Mechanicus II. If they can expand on what they've built in the first one, it'd be one hell of a game.

dawn of war 1 also had necron campaigns since dark crusade (though ti was the older necrons where personnality wasnt on the menu)
Such a great reaction. Sharing the moment when that soundtrack kicks in and the "II" symbol pops up, it almost makes me want to feel actual human emotions.
I hadn't even considered Mechanicus 2 was on the table so it was a nice pleasant surprise.

The first one was pretty awesome! I hope they don't ruin this one with Games Workshop nonsense. This game had an awesome campaign, and genuinely awesome multiplayer (I dont do multiplayer, and I played the crap out of Space Marine mp)
Space Marine was one of the original games that did microtransactions. It's one of my first memories of this crap creeping into our full price games..

Mechanicus is the only WH game I actually completed. I own a bunch (yay sales) but Mechanicus just fits my preferences.

Ok. I'm hyped for that title. I love the first game and the music is a real banger. Saying that Necrons are petty is an understatement. Imagine two ageless beings pissing each other through millenia and getting on their rival's nerves just to show off, that's the very simplified fragment of the story story from the book "The Infinite and The Divine". Treat Necrons as if they were old guys like Jeff Dunham's Walter puppet. Old, grumpy in wonderfully sarcastic.

Loved the first Mechanicus, even if it's basically unplayable (imho) due to just how difficult it is, even on the "easiest" setting.
Damn it's that rough? LOL
@@SlanderedGaming it's not that difficult once you learn the mechanics, but it has a steep learning curve compared to other 40k tactical games and you are on a time limit to finish the game. It's not really possible to visit every room on the map because trying to makes the game harder.

I bounced off Mechanicus I - it was quite late like 80% of the way through, I just couldn't be bothered to finish it.
I can't remember what exactly put me off, other than the exploration tasks falling flat. Still it has the core ingredients so I can see why other people might like it and it'll be interesting to see how they "reverse" it.
This could be good-maybe? Mechanicus 1 had some potential but ultimately was too simple and lacking in combat. Basically, it was boring...
I never played Mech 1 I just heard good things about it.
