@@umenpoid Thing is they still had ok weapons for their times. While definitely technological level was far more inferior Vietnamese didn't go in full confrontation that often. What good of a helicopter if you are burning down the jungles where you "think" enemy might be.

18:06 Actually I'm pretty sure that's because when he's actively fighting he has so much adrenaline and video game logic that bullets don't hurt that much but when he's on the edge of a cliff having nothing he'll probably flinch pretty easily.
Plus, if heavy took too many blows to the diaphragm, he would get less grip strength.

This is a Team Vs. Team battle, with magic, gratuitous physics, and WILDLY different playstyles. It works wonders.
16:10 The Sniper Lady (Ana) has an ability where she targets an ally, and applies a combination +50% Damage Output/-50% Damage Taken buff to them. Ideally, you'd apply this to either a Tank or DPS character so they can lead the charge and/or sweep the enemy team, but because it's based on Line Of Sight, it's not uncommon to accidentally give it to an ally who jumped in between you and the teammate you intended to give it to.

- Pharah was actually getting payback for the first video.
- Realistically, though, Mei's endothermic blaster uses the same coolant as the cryostasis chambers back at the Ecopoint. Not saying Pyro's flamethrower wouldn't melt that ice - just that it would take MUCH longer than with normal water ice. (As for her outfit, it's likely closer to antarctic exploration gear.)
- Sombra's Hack in-game disables most extra abilities, so of course it would disable a Demoman's shield charge.
- Don't worry - no other Overwatch character gets as comically edgy as Reaper. (Heck, some characters even tease him for it.)
- Roadhog (the pig mask guy) is actually a wastelander, same as Junkrat. Even though he's designated as Junkrat's sidekick, he's actually intelligent and shockingly level-headed (much like Heavy).
- Someone like Lucio stealing a Nanocharge has the same energy as Scout stealing a medkit.
- B.O.B. is the omnic bodyguard (and butler) to Ashe, that white-haired woman at the end. Her ultimate literally calls him in to assist.
- Engineer's POTG is directly based on a very infamous Torbjorn POTG.
I love how knowledgeable you are about all sorts of topics. My first thought was "oh this guy is an army guy and MMA fighter, he doesn't know anything", but after watching your content the past few months, I've shed all those thoughts and grown. Backstory is he was part of a rebellion against omnics in australia, caused a nuclear meltdown and most of the outback got irradiated. mutations made him stronger and all. the huff is an aerosol of biotech that causes rapid healing. So they both stopped to heal there.

Sentry? You mean tiny pile of shit. Torbjorn’s turrets are mini sentries compare to the fire power of a level 3. Also Bastion is the over watch version of going brass beast heavy and pretending to be a sentry
Character design comes in more than one part. Appearance wise, a number of the OW characters looked phenomenal. Very pleasing on the eyes between the colors, outfits, etc. Gameplay wise is another thing. Being truly unique in gameplay can be difficult; you can only reinvent the wheel so many times. But OW really did feel like it just straight up stole a number of things from TF2, especially when you look at how things like Genji's deflect ability are almost straight up carbon copies of Pyro's airblast. That and Blizzard's current management disaster are why OW2 has been canceled and why OW itself is teetering on the brink of death with more bots than TF2.
Side Note: Lv.3 Dad Duds Engineer is far superior to Torb in appearance, imo.
Honestly yeah it’s a shame considering his universe is incredibly tech savvy. I miss his lv. 3 so much lmao.
But actually Torb’s gimmick is that his tech is considered “old school” or “barbaric” compared to what other characters in his universe are using. Although the comics do show off some other really neat gadgets and abilities that he can use, but they sadly probably won’t ever see the light of day in the game I’d imagine.

Yes, that is an Overwatch thing. At the end of a match someone is given play of the game (usually whenever a DPS Hero uses an ultimate and sweeps the enemy team all at once). In that case it was a reference to an ACTUAL play of the game where Torbjorn (basically Engineer), dies immediately to a trap and his turret gets kills while his corpse sits there and falls off the map. Additionally, I mentioned that Torbjorn has a turret, so yes, Overwatch has the one thing that gives TF2 a potential tech advantage. That being said, while it's range and health are better than a level 3 sentry and it's as spammable as a Mini-sentry, it's DPS is only about as good as a Mini-sentry while being much larger and therefore easier to hit (I also think it's knockback is nowhere near as extreme, so it doesn't ruin positioning like the TF2 sentry does either). It fills exactly the same role as the Mini-sentry as being an annoyance to control space while Torbjorn plays the game, compared to the TF2 sentry being a real threat all on it's own that requires some amount of coordination to take it down reliably. As far as I know, there are no other turrets in Overwatch that match the power of a TF2 sentry.
I think the closest thing to another sentry OW has is bastion, lol

Pharah kicking Soldier's ass had nothing to do with a technological advantage, it was a reference to the first video when Soldier kicked her ass. She literally says "Now we're even" after beating him.
Roadhog was a pig farmer when his home country of Australia was turned into a wasteland. Madmax he went madmax
When it comes to Roadhog and Junkrat, they're basically characters from the Mad Max series.. they're both from Australia as well. 😅
Overwatch does have 2 turret character, one having it as a big part of hit abilities (the oher uses them as a trap), though the turret by itseld is more an annoyance than an actual threat like the TF2 engineer's turret is.
As for the fat character, he isnt so much a biker (though he does have one, he is rarely depicted using it) a as a mad max character with a pig theme (name is even Roadhog), and his drink is actually a healing chemical (the joke is that both roadhog and heavy have items that can heal them in the fight) And not offensive, he is actually pretty smart, especially compared to his partner, Junkrat.

Great video! If you're looking for more SFMs to react to, there's an excellent S2FM that just released a week ago by an underrated creator. Fantastic cinematography and based on Half-Life 2, so it's a bit more thematically serious than this one, but really shows how far the source engine has come in source 2. It's called "PROTECTORS - A Half-Life: Alyx Short [S2FM]". Also comes with custom closed captions to help clear up the distorted radio chatter!

Paul, if some dumbass snipes your only medic in the squad in plain sight I think every member would want revenge. Plus, that ape, centaur and stompy robot are Tank characters, meaning in the holy trinity of rpg, they were supposed to control aggro and support the team and the supports and healers support them and DPS players deal damage. Losing your healer with all 3 tanks still alive is one of the worst feelings of shame for a Tank, unless said healer died due to their own negligence.
As a tank player if this happened to me I would have dedicated myself to making sure that sniper would never land another shot on someone else, killing him once is already a mercy, I would have made sure he would be useless for the entire game to the best of my ability. Sadly though, TF2 characters basically have no counter in the hands of a god tier player or hacker, but I still would have tried my best to shut that sniper if it killed my medic.
Thing is people know exactly the kind of person you are if you main a character in Overwatch. It will change between the way you play or the style you like
Sniper question, if the best position for a sniper is to be set up, with your gun fixed, and your not moving, your a sitting duck to anyone who can see you.
IF they do see you, you run and reposition. Snipers usually hide behind murder holes and the such which makes them hard to see and use the environment to hide. Then because you have a very accurate gun and hopefully the enemy doesn't you can out range them and neutralize if they know where you are at. Also a sniper always comes with a spotter. Who helps tell distance, range, weather (wind direction and speed) with a gun for closer engagements to keep the sniper safe if they get to close. This is the most I know and hopefully you get something from it
I mean If you can bunnyhop and dodge a sniper bullet mid-air then go ahead but i don't think that you can aim while shooting with a sniper rifle in real life.
You should try watching some of the Overwatch stuff if you haven't. It's really high quality
Reaper actually has a reason for his mentality. Hes dead but kept alive by nanites but is kept in constant pain. I do agree and laugh about how edgy he is but he does have a normal non edge lord skin. Its also just a suit he wears to keep the law from knowing who he is because he used to be in a military group. Its all kinds of goofy
Your theory on Overwatch stealing from TF2 is actually very, very true. They have claimed that they take "Inspiration" from other games, which is fine but they seem to do it a lot more than other games would. Mercy's Healing staff is essentially Medics MediGun. They have a character names Zarya who has a minigun and is Russian. Bastion is practically Brass Beast Heavy. Sombra is a worse version of Spy, she has the ability to go invisible and can hack things and people (Upgraded Sapper). Tracer is a female, technologically advanced British version of Scout. Torbjorn is Engineer with a shitty Sentry. JunkRat is a character that uses a grenade launcher, sticky bomb launcher and drinks a lot, sounds quite a bit like Demoman if you ask me. Phara and 76 are what would happen if you split Soldier into 2 people.
The thing I thought was funny is that the TF2 characters could realistically beat Overwatch in a fight. The main problem Overwatch would have is that because their so technologically advanced almost everyone has something made of electronics on them, meaning Spy could hook up a sapper to most of them and immediately take them out of the fight, they also wouldn't really be watching out for their teammates to stab them in the back so Spy would be the most effective character at killing them. Medic's Ubercharge would be game changing since making someone invulnerable for 8 seconds could easily win a fight. Engineers Sentry would allow him to hold down a point indefinitely if his team was helping him. And last and definitely least TF2 has an army of automated Aimbots on their side.
5:00 While you are correct, the internet does indeed simp for mercy, I believe (I don't know for sure, correct me if i'm wrong) this is a jab at the playstyle in Overwatch, in which the Tank classes rely so much on the Healers/Support. All characters in the game are split into 3 categories when jumping into a game, Tanks, DPS (Damage Per Second), and Support (Healers). A team will often get two or more tanks, and healers, namely Mercy in this scene, is the primary source of HP and Damage-Boosting.
A little side fun-fact, Mercy is one of the weakest damage outputs in the game, but is for sure the fastest healer in the game, able to output more HP into her team mates than any other healer, disregarding any abilities or the sort other supports may have. She's also, from my knowledge, the only character that has the ability of reviving a dead player shortly after dying. She is a valuable asset to a successful team, hence why the tanks get so utterly mad when she goes down.

oh yeah when I was a kid back in 2002 we had colin mcray rally 3, and thats 3.5GB game so its super small.
it took 3 cds to install, and now you can play it on your phone. it was described as the "most realistic racing experience."
compare to something modern like dirt rally, that needs 50GB space to install.

I have to say, this reaction is a bit painful to watch. This is a good video, which compares some of best jokes, references and stereotypes of each game using countless minor details, but you don't understand them because, you only know some of tf2 and nothing of overwatch. :(

Just a fair warning to watch out for the trap of hating on rival games of TF2 such as Overwatch. Dunno if it's still something that happens anymore, but I know a lot of people that grow an irrational hate for games that compete with TF2 for the main reason of it being a different game, and it can be pretty ugly.
Just FYI TF2 takes place in the 1960s I believe or smthn around there. While overwatch is somewhere in the future.

If we're talking tech, I feel TF2's Medic has the advantage. The Ubercharge in Overwatch would be severly broken and would restructure the entire meta around it

That’s basically what Ana’s Nano-boost was to the game back in the day, right? Really thinking about it some of Overwatch’s support characters are a little ridiculous.
Lucio weaponizes sound, like I’m not entirely sure about the scientific ramifications of that, but I think the guy should be leveling buildings or something. Baptiste can visually project a window that allows passing projectiles to amplify their impact of damage and deploy a drone that keeps your life from ending just so long as you stay in its vicinity. Then there’s just Zenyatta who quite literally transcends his state of being.

I honestly have to disagree with the notion of Overwatch copying TF2, they have the same game modes and that's it, none of the characters copy each other, and the closest you'll get to copied characters are Zarya and Heavy, who are both just Russian heavyweights. And sure, Genji has a deflect ability, so? It's pretty different from the airblast in execution, while being similar in concept

My impression was that it was more like a first person MOBA than it was a full-blown shooter like TF2.
Only they tried to rip off what made TF2’s cast and mechanics good and didn’t hit the mark.
