Studded tires are a must for me.
I live les then a mile from the trial head and often ride the road there.
Lots of ice on the roads and also lots of hard packed snow on the trails.
Better safe then sorry for me.

do you think is better studded tires or chain for the tires like slipnot chains ?

I have not tried tire chains on a fat bike. I imagine a studded tire will perform better than chains. However, chains would allow for riding all year with one set of tires. Hope that helps.

Yes I did one for the Vee Tire Co. Snowshoe XL studded tires at 4.8”. Look for it on my page. If you’re riding during winter primarily on packed icy trails or on ice like a frozen lake consider some studded tires. Otherwise, they weigh a lot more than regular fat bike tires. There are better tire options for winter if you don’t need studs. I rode on some pavement on and off for a season and didn’t notice much of any wear on the studs. Hope that helps.

What do you think about the 26x4.0 s, especially the schwalbe looks very light 900 grams, the cake is longer than the 27.5x4.5 29x3.25 s, the bigger the diameter, the more the tire rolls

I like to fit that fattest tire possible for fat bikes. So whatever can fit your bike is great. And yes a taller tire gives you a little more rollover strength. Also, something to consider is two different tires for front and rear. The Maxxis minion FBF/FBR tire set is a good example. The Surly Bud and Lou tire set is great too for all year riding. I haven’t yet tried the tires you asked about. Tires from 45nrth are expensive, but they have some great options too.

ua-cam.com/video/-usZQhBlKyM/v-deo.html bu lastikleri gördünmü korkunç derecede iyi yüzüyorlar ,cok eski olmalarına şaşırdım ve ölcüsünü anlamış degilim,26x5.0 mı yok 26x5.6 mı .2xl 5.6 tanımından emin olamadım ama lastikler inanılmaz 50 cm karda bile yüzüyorlar fakat kuru arazide nasıl olur bilemem

Neat! Really though you want packed snow to ride a fat bike successfully and have an enjoyable day in my opinion. I’ve tried going out after a good snowstorm with super low tire pressure at about 1-2 psi. I was hardly able to get started riding (rear tire spin out) and once I did I was sliding all around. Plus out of breath pretty quick.

Studded tires are neat, but they are heavy and expensive!

    • @jiw71

expensive.......YES heavy.....NO! (about the same weight as a pair of wool socks)

The Snowshoe XL Studded tire set weighs a lot, but really grip on icy packed snow. It’s worth the extra weight if you’re primary riding on ice and packed icy snow. Otherwise regular tires are preferred.

@@fatbikeasinine803 I ride with 4" 45NRTH Dillinger studded tires year round. For me the extra weight of the aluminum studs is insignificant.

I’m looking at a set of 45nrth tires soon. I can tell the difference for about a day or two when I switch from regular to studded, but then I don’t notice the weight after.

@@jiw71 "weight" is more about the rolling resistance than the actual literal weight. Ex. a flat tire isn't heavier, it's just got a much higher rolling resistance.
