The cube 'Nemo' represents the discrimination towards marginalized people (symbolized in IU being mute and Taehyung being blind in one eye).
They stayed together till the end with their love sustained, free from all oppression and pressure from society.

Yeah, like you said, this can be interpreted in so many ways. I really like your interpretation of the box. People living in their own boxes.
The sign language in the beginning always takes me back to "My Mister". I guess the shock of losing Lee Sun-Kyun is still there within me.
To me, the cube felt like the world that criticizes an artist to death. The prejudice of the world, discrimination, stereotypes, conservative beliefs, that's all the cube is.
And, I think the perfect visuals through camcorder portrays the lives of famous artists in people's minds when in reality they don't see the bruised and battered version of them. They think they live a perfect life but they don't know how much work and effort they've put in, how much hardships they had to bear to get to where they are now. All is good and happy when everything's fine. One mistake and they'll forget that they are humans just like us. They go back in their boxes and chase them around until they make them disappear off the planet earth.
Found out about Mr. Lee's death in a comment in an OST of "My Mister". I went through numerous articles. It's just not right. Did they really have to push it that far? Why? What happened to "innocent until proven guilty"?
This can happen to other artists too.

I doubt it.

7:50 this is the first time I heard this interpretation and it makes sense!
I finally was willing to watch this - IU's ballads always make me cry so I avoided this for 2 months. Yep, instant river. I found a comment from the director and if I understood correctly he was saying that the camera lens was their love - that's why everything looks perfect and warm through the camera. Even though the world around them has gone to hell, the way they see each other is perfect - without any flaws. You see them floating away in the camera at the end as the camera battery dies because they are finally escaping all the hardships and oppression they experienced in life - even though the cube obviously vaporized them in reality. The cube/box represents discrimination and oppression we experience in our daily lives so it's trying to destroy them. The masked people in all black that they saw in the restaurant and wedding scenes are showing how the world was angry/mocking them but they were so happy together that they didn't even notice - all that mattered was each other.
There was an alternate ending played at her concert in Seoul where they escaped and are driving off together in a car.

Hi Tyongeee, The pile of clothes will become significant toward the end. The box is an evil entity. The camcorder shows the past when things were new and happy. So now you know the pile of clothes were from those before them. They knew the end was coming and their love was so strong that they chose to go together.

Isnt v the most famous idol in the most famous kpop group?😂, he is literally called the "idol of idols" there is no way you call him underrated. But it is true that his label has treated him badly in the past atleast.
