And your only crime is that you have a weak passport. No matter how many stamps and visas you have on it, they will always treat you like a criminal.

I want to share my personal experience as an Indian facing harassment 10 to 15 times across Europe and Asian countries. Despite having a good Travel history, I've encountered significant discrimination. It feels like many places don't value us as individuals, yet they are happy to take our money. The Indian passport, unfortunately, holds little value in terms of respect and ease of travel. This isn't just about visa restrictions but also about the prejudices we face. Our passport reflects not just our travel privileges but also our global perception. In the past decade, under Prime Minister Modi's leadership, there's been no significant improvement in India's international reputation. While there have been economic reforms and development initiatives, these haven't translated into better treatment for Indian citizens abroad. The ongoing issues with human rights, media freedom, and social policies continue to affect how we are viewed globally. It's crucial to acknowledge these issues and work towards a future where Indian citizens are respected and valued, both at home and internationally.
I think the problem is with the illegal Indian people due to which other Indians suffer and the blame goes to the govt and the passport. Passport has nothing to do with it. It is the people who mis-use it to create problems.

Bhai its because from last couple of years lots of Indians came to fiji thinking they can enter Nz and australia just the same way in europe . But our people don't understand that fiji is a island country you can't cross the border by car or truck . Lots of agents looted money from desperate people simply telling them to enter Nz or Australia from fiji.. They even paid 10-15 lakhs ( to agents ) to get Fiji visa, which is a visa free country for Indians. I'm sorry to hear your story. Thing's changes because of our own folks.

Indian passport is one of few allowed direct scan immigration at Singapore airport just had a family trip there .m 47 yr (working in corporate, living in Mumbai) traveling with my Indian passport with many countries never been asked for extra checkup at immigration or security...I don't understand why this happened to U , Dr Navankur , Paramveer etc ..all r young travellers (m following all of u cause post retirement will start travelling like u guys around the world)... immigration or passport control is a subjective thing .. economically .China is the second biggest in the world however it's passport ranking in 60+ ....many factors diplomatic relations between countries , past record ( earlier India & China was with USSR during cold war ), HDI , .ost Western countries, small South American countries didn't like USSR partners those days ..legacy is carried forward till today....etc etc

Atlest people are able to travel now you are getting passport without paying any bribes. Many foreign cities are today connected to indian cities via flights which were not connected before. Many new airports are being built . Indian passport is not as strong as per say china or Thailand but things are changing bro I think in next 10 years Indian passport will be strong enough to go atlest 100-120 countries without visa.

There are many reasons why Indian passport holders face problem in foreign countries while travelling BUT I would like to add outside India they see you as Indian, If anyone asks you where do you live in India then name your city or state but at starting representing yourself by saying I am from Punjab, Is it necessary such reasons are also for downgrade of Indian passport. Well living in Portugal and lived in many other countries and I never felt any issues anywhere, but yes due to recent illegal immigration from our majorly Punjab & Gujarat and some other states have started causing problems. It's not because of Indian passport. There are many many cases from Punjab, India where people have overstayed, or done donkey or claimed asylum or done some forgery in college addmisions.. Hence when they see Punjab state printed in the address on Indian passport. They ask you so many questions. Another new ongoing trend is nowadays is going in agents of Punjab i.e claiming asylum in Canada on fake prosecution of sikhs in India in Punjab state.. Indian passport is one of few allowed direct scan immigration at Singapore airport just had a family trip there .m 47 yr (working in corporate, living in Mumbai) traveling with my Indian passport with many countries never been asked for extra checkup at immigration or security...I don't understand why this happened to U , Dr Navankur , Paramveer etc ..all r young travellers (m following all of u cause post retirement will start travelling like u guys around the world)... immigration or passport control is a subjective thing .. economically .China is the second biggest in the world however it's passport ranking in 60+ ....many factors diplomatic relations between countries , past record ( earlier India & China was with USSR during cold war ), HDI , .ost Western countries, small South American countries didn't like USSR partners those days ..legacy is carried forward till today....etc etc

There are many reasons why Indian passport holders face problem in foreign countries while travelling BUT I would like to add outside India they see you as Indian, If anyone asks you where do you live in India then name your city or state but at starting representing yourself by saying I am from Punjab, Is it necessary such reasons are also for downgrade of Indian passport. It's not because of Indian passport. There are many many cases from Punjab, India where people have overstayed, or done donkey or claimed asylum or done some forgery in college addmisions.. Hence when they see Punjab state printed in the address on Indian passport. They ask you so many questions. Another new ongoing trend is nowadays is going in agents of Punjab i.e claiming asylum in Canada on fake prosecution of sikhs in India in Punjab state..
