    I would say for the live collaborative boss, the summoners war hydra is implemented fairly well. where u have to beat different stages of difficulty to unlock the next one, meaning when u do your runs you wont be saddled with players that are far below your progression, Furthermore each player gets a damage score at the end of the run that slightly influences rewards...i think that system works well because it incentivises you to always be improving your team without making it so that if you get paired with a gigawhale you cant get decent rewards.

    Cold Brew is 100% correct in that some people enjoy the process more than the end result. I think this is exactly why we see some people create alt accounts in games. The challenge is the fun part. And this is of course the very same reason why games continue to expand and eventually experience power creep, there has to be something for people to do or they just get bored because they've beaten everything.

    • @FatelessGames
      @FatelessGames  3 місяці тому +2

      Who doesn't love a challenge right? Often times that's the bigger part as well. Takes a lot longer to figure out the solution than to solve the puzzle.

    I have crazy idea. In Destiny 2 they have these weapon surges that change every week. So for that week these surges will put out an extra 25% damage. They also give a 25% weapon damage to certain weapon types for that week as well. For a Meta balance type thing what if you can give a damage boost to a certain faction or even just certain champions for that week or even rotate every few days. The damage boost can be for certain activities in the game or something. I think it would be cool in a game like Raid and champion collection games

    The interaction Boss fight could be something that each player brings 1 champion, but before that the system could ask which role you want to play, because someone could have a god-tier suppport but bad Nukers, so he would choose the support role and so on... than with the roles assigned the system matches the players.

    It would be cool in PvP what every week, Champions from specific "Factions" get a bonus so the meta may shift depending on which faction phase you are in. Sure, you could use the same champs you always do, but they may be at a disadvantage. Would make people at least have to think about team selection week to week.

    In response to the live clan or guild boss, i came from diablo immortal and was in one of the top clans. I really lo loved the weekly reset fights where we would go in and fight the bosses as a clan and the same fights we would help lower players complete to get their rewards. The actual immortals versus shadows was fun but the scheduling requirements and set times were life killers. I would enjoy if say you had a 30 person clan and a raid required 5 players and you could get rewards x times per week and the fight takes 5 minutes. It would also be nice if a recruiting feature was in game so lower clans could form a team then try to get the pickup players. Also was a massive fan of fractured plane.

    One of the most important aspects of a mobile game for many people is the ability to do things at your own pace. Of course there are always time limited things, but overall the expectation is to hit the game when you have time. Make the game you want to make, but as much as I want to play your game I play games like Raid because I don't have the time to play an MMO and raid with a guild all the time. Some things really sound like it will be a solid mobile game, but other times some of the aspects really come off as if you would really rather be making an MMO.
    I like the challenge idea though. Especially if it isn't a daily thing and just something different that comes up sometimes or as a tutorial.

    a champion that the community can test drive for a week before we have a chance to go for it would be awesome :)) or a champion the community can use for a whole month that rotates :)) those champs would be fully skilled and maxed out and we could just gear them for the month. how awesome would that be? i would love to test drive a Trunda in Raid Shadow Legends. im sure i would really go for her the next time she came up on a x15 or whatever after Ive played and felt the skills.

    This is probably better suited to Discord, but how much have you guys looked outside of the genre for ideas around gameplay tutorials and challenge modes? One thing that comes to mind is in the Mists of Pandaria WoW expansion, which had players complete challenges to show that they understood their character's role. They had bronze, silver and gold challenge modes. Something like that, which shows you have learned particular skills and can implement them, could be useful in a hero collector game. (FFXIV has a similar tutorial system for each job).

    • @FatelessGames
      @FatelessGames  2 місяці тому

      A fair bit. We're constantly on the lookout for cool features and mechanics that would fit into our game regardless of what the genre is. Granted we don't have a ton of time to play a bunch of games ourselves (wish we did), which is why community feedback and suggestions are so important.

    Having multiple modes or leagues for PvP should have become standard a long time ago. I've always liked a normalised mode myself as I want to pit my wits and skill against another opponent, not pit my wallet, but I've often thought why not have a f2p league, spenders league, which has multiple tiers, a normalised mode where f2p and spender alike can play against each other with their own roster, and a pool mode, also normalised, where you pick from a set of champs but if you pick a strong champ then others are excluded from your future choices in each subsequent match in the run, or you play a series of matches and you can only use the champs from the pool once and then they are greyed out until you complete the run. In both those options you can sub out one champ for one in your own roster once you reach the final. Each mode having an open league table, and lastly one friends/clan invite mode where clans can set up competitions with their own rules and can be normalised or not. Each can have a set amount of tokens and you can buy and earn more in other parts of the game each day associated with PvP.
    I also thought that you could do PvE and PvP daily quests where PvP quests give rewards related to PvP and vis versa. You don't have to do either ofc, but if your focus is PvE only then why have dailies associated with PvP again vis versa. I think what upsets many people, myself included, is the feeling of being forced to do something they don't want to. To play the part/s of the game they least enjoy just to be able to do more of the part/s they do enjoy most, which takes away from the overall pleasure of playing the game and often leads to quitting altogether, especially early on before you invest too much time and/or money into it. Player retention is just as important as total weekly downloads, which is finite. I hate being forced to do 3x3 to get FW keys. I hate that I have to do PvP every day to improve my PvE stats. Let me choose what parts I want to play, associate the quests/missions accordingly and I will be more inclined to spend because I feel as though I'm not having my arm twisted into anything and resenting it, that I'm being respected as an individual player in a mass people environment.
    I also want to be able to solo everything PvE, which Raid has cracked brilliantly to give them credit where credit is due. On this they are leading the way, with options to do harder versions of the same content in groups, with clan members and/or with friends, which conversely, they have failed at miserably, as they have no real clan/friend contact/cohesion. There could be cosmetic drops, an avatar, title, and global viewable achievements in the group versions, with perhaps a one off unique piece of gear that is cosmetically different from the regular with a very small increase in a random stat but nothing that makes it op from the solo version. You can replay it as many times as you want ofc just in case you didn't get the RNG on the stats you wanted and that makes it viable long term too imo. LOTRO did this very well. Complete solo gameplay is equally as important as group/social play. I love the feeling of achieving something on my own, that sense of YES! I DID IT, and I love the feeling of achieving things in groups to, YES! WE DID IT. Always give the player BOTH options ALL the time and you'll have a hit with every type of player who loves this genre. Just a few thought on what was talked/mentioned in this podcast.

    I am really hoping you implement seasons very much like ARPG's do. Where your legacy characters stay the same but for the seasonal or bi-annual events is like a complete reset. This allows veteran players to get a start over feel, but still feel like they are progressing their accounts and be optional but incentivised. 3 month legacy 3m option season 3m legacy only 3m optional season.
