Three in a row really. Percy was supposed to have a tragic ending. Instead he got a wife and his home back and a bunch of kids. 😊
Laura’s a powerhouse man, her straight up denying Percy his edgy ending is one of my favorite things
So do we think Sam is gonna go unromanceable in C4 to throw down the gauntlet, or steer hard in the other direction and try to romance her character?

@@faranior I was thinking making an unromanceable character so she would be interested or make a super romanceable character so she wouldn’t be. But I get what you’re saying, that the best strategy for romancing a Laura Bailey character is to be as unromanceable as possible.

I feel that. I made a Warlock who was an Ace man, meant to be very plot driven and nothing else, and he got romanced very successfully by a fey elf Princess.

@@EBirchall1 That's sweet! I feel it too. A character of mine was a fiercely independent girlie who had a bit of a thorny personality. I had no intention of her being in a relationship for most of the campaign, but then she ended up falling in love with her sweet cinnamon roll of a best friend.
She turns to mush around him and it's great XD.

i think the reaction was that much bigger because Imogen and Laudna had had this relationship since the beginning, and even if they were shipped together, they never really acted on it so the cast was like 'well, they just don't want to go there'

Also reminds me of Serana from Skyrim (who Laura voiced) a character which many fans wanted to marry in game but couldn't (also dead unromancable woman)

I thought for a second she was actually getting up to run around to Laura's side of the table and act out the kiss for real. (She's an actor, she's been willing to do this before: see LA By Night.)
The way Laudna responded when Imogen said she couldn’t hear her thoughts, something in Marisha’s tone made it feel like Laudna was a little cut by that despite being happy for her. She probably values the mental bond with Imogen, having someone she loves in her head might be a comforting balancing presence for Laudna.
It still cracks me up how shocked Marisha was. We’ve known Imogen is in love with Laudna for a year now 😂
Ashley is such a joy to watch when she’s reacting to scenes. I can feeeel the relief when she was anticipating Laudna’s reaction. I didn’t expect Sam to be that excited 😂.
Knowing that Ashley and Sam are next to each other is especially great, because they both were mirrors of each other and they both were so relieved when Laudna said yes

The shift on Marisha’s face had me rolling.
It's a detail, but I just adore that small recoil from Laura after Imogen asked 'Can I kiss you?' She was so scared of getting rejected, especially since Laudna hadn't accessed that part in her brain for decades and Imogen never wanted to force Laudna to anything, even if she was allowed to read her mind. It's beautiful.
"I've heard everything inside of you, Laudna, you are not a bad person." I'm not sobbing, you're sobbing!
LAURA FUCKING BAILEY DID IT AGAIN! God, I cant believe the couple I'm shipping since the beginning of campaign three is actually a thing now, I'm so happy 🥰🥰🥰

Yes! When they were introduced together in the first episode, what popped into my head was that clip from the live action TMNT movie where Mikey says “So, are you two like a thing?! “. Earlier when Letticia said that she’s never been in love, but she loves Imogene dearly, the lyrics from the parody song I Ship It popped into my head: “You say that they’re not gay, but, yeah, I really doubt that! This can’t just be a Bromance, who would write a show about that?!”
There's a joke in my D&D group that I'm 6 for 8 in guessing the romantic pairings within the first few episodes. I missed Vaxleth b/c who tf expected that, and I missed Pike and Scanlan because that came outta left field.

Liam is always like that during the great acting scenes. He loves the theatre of it all and is just absorbed in the story unfolding. He's a polite theatre-goer and saves his applause until the end. LOL

I had watched 4 sided dive before this episode and Marisha explaining how Laudana felt about Imogen. Confused. Hurt. Ashamed. I expected a blow up like the rock incident. Laura just said, Nah, I got this. They have been a couple for literally years and Imogen needs Laudana as she needs her. If Imogen was with their group when Bor Dor went rogue, she would have shouted NO at Ludana, then killed him herself to protect Laudana. Think Amos protecting Prax in the Expanse. Also: Matt lost his wife for a third time
exactly! I’m so glad laura decided enough is enough and went for it because laudna was losing herself after what happened with bor’dor and imogen is just the thing she needs to stay grounded.

Laura is also 3 for 3. They’ve both been romanced by *players* in each campaign.
(1) Kiki x Vax and Vex x Percy, (2) Beau x Yasha and Jester x Fjord, and now (3) Laudna x Imogen.
You could also say the same for Ashley: (1) Pike x Scanlan, (2) Yasha x Beau, (3) Ferne x Chetney x Deana.
Sam ((1) Scanlan x Pike, (3) FCG x FRIDA) and Travis ((2)Fjord x Jester, (3) Chetney x Deana x Ferne) are 2 for 3, and Liam ((1) Vax x Kiki) and Taliesin ((1) Percy x Vex) is 1 for 3.
Liam had potential to snatch a 2 for 3 from Travis is Caleb had gone after Jester, be he didn’t. I think if Ashton is going to settle down with anyone, it’d be Ferne or Milo IMO as he’s already admitted to loving them both. If things get really wild, maybe a Orym x Ashton but I doubt it. I think Orym will probably find an NPC that’ll rock his world once all this Predathos stuff is taken care of and he can properly mourn his husband.
Implied, but Caleb got Mr Sexy drow. He's 2 for 3.

I genuinely thought Marisha was gonna kiss Laura who seemed open to it. That would have broken the internet, Marisha's done it before with Erika Ishii.
Also I love Laudna's journey to accepting her darkness. Hope she keeps going down that road, be really interesting to see that at the table. Delilah ends up helping kill Ludinus would be an amazing way of tying stuff together.

Eeehhhh I don’t know if I would fully count candela obscura just yet. They kinda did that as a quick hey I need information thing. Arlo seems to still be trying to figure out what happened to her fiancé. I mean she didn’t say no to auggie and she joked about it afterwards. I kinda think Arlo getting him some new clothes was just to make him feel a little more connected to the group.

From what I can tell, no one in the comments has pointed out the funniest thing about this pairing. Laudna was a body double for Vex, Laura's character for C1. This means Laura was able to romance herself by proxy. There's no way for Laura to top that.

It’s all improvised. Obviously, the cast has boundaries they go over so they all know where the boundaries are, but everything like this is all improvised based on the characters’ experiences. The slight lesbian subtext was probably a little planned from session 0 and/or 1, but whether it was ever acted upon to this degree was up to the dice and the characters’ arcs in the story.
I just watched it again, and I spent so long watching everyone else's reactions that I never watched Marisha's. The movement of her face is like "What the fuck did you just ask me?!" It seems a little more obviously improvised, like y'all said, after that.
I definitely thought this was their plan the whole time??? But yeah Marisha seems genuinely shocked
They talked about it on Septembers 4sd!!! They had conversations along the lines of “should it be romantic should it not be?” “You know what let’s just make it platonic” and then as the campaign went on Laura started to panic cause they said they’d keep it platonic but Imogen was catching feelings. And then right before the soltice Marisha also started to panic cause she realized Laudna had romantic feelings for Imogen. Thus is the nature of improv

obviously that they have kissed before, but since Imogen is wearing the circlet, she can hear thoughts anymore
I think it was slightly poor phrasing to mean "i can't look into your thoughts as I'm asking this anymore so I have to take whatever you tell me at face value"
She has been looking into Laudna's mind since they met and Laudna has let her. I think Imogen was just waiting for that moment of vulnerability so she could finally ask the questions she didn't want to DETECT the answers to, so when Laudna says 'You don't have to listen in to get my thoughts. .' that finally gave her that moment. Imogen didn't want to force that feeling out of Laudna, she wanted Laudna to give it to her.
Then, later on in the same episode the greatest moment happened.
