    I spent many years with the permanent desire to quit smoking and it always failed, my violin teacher jokingly told me "quitting smoking is very easy, I quit about 50 times". In the end I managed to quit smoking in 2008 thanks to Allen's book, the first day I read about 190 pages and the rest the next day and since then not only have I not smoked again but I have not even thought about it again, I It is very sad when I see a person smoking. Quitting smoking has been one of the biggest changes in my life and I want to highlight this: I owe it to Allen Carr.

    The psychology Mr Carr uses is spot on. It may seem like a small thing but the fact that you have to keep drinking/smoking while reading the book, doing the program, drives his points so much harder. To sum it up, don’t get caught up with social conditioning and the business of rehab, recovery is 100% mental. Take your life back , you can do it.

    I gave up smoking 30 a day in 2008, after reading Allen Carr's easyway. I Lasted for 5 years. I gave my book to someone else. Like a fool in 2013 I tried one cigarette (no such thing as one) If I still had the book & read the 1st chapter chapter I wouldn't have smoked that ONE cigarette. I read the book again in 2020 & I'm one year nicotine free. I agree 100% with the NO nicotine replacement therapy in easyway. Many times I tried quit using willpower, patches gum, e cigarette. All of times I ended up smoking cigarettes also. ONE year after reading Allen Carr's easyway for the 2nd time. I know I'll never use nicotine again. I also kept a copy of the book this time. Thank you Allen RIP

    I smoked for 28 years. The first time I tried to quit was 23 years ago...I tried ALL the NRT's (patches, gum, inhalators) I did the NHS Cessation clinic. Nothing worked. NOTHING. Especially not the NRT. Easyway was the only thing that got me off the cigarettes. I know so many people that have tried Easyway and are now non smokers - some for more than a decade. These same people all tried NRT previously and failed to quit so these 'professors' can say that NRT is better all they like, I don't believe them because I have witness and experienced the exact opposite. Throw out your nicotine patches - they are keeping you hooked - and buy Allen's book!

I finally stopped smoking with Allen Carrs Easy Way method audio book. Doctor's and big farma only believes in pills to prescribe but smoking is an emotional and mental addiction to nicotine/cigarettes that needs to be healed & understood before you can quit successfully.

    Theres a company called Lucy Nicotine. They popped up on my allen carr video (what the hell). Not only are they new to an old game, but they are new to the sinking ship that is smoking. Its dying. This company is desperately trying to get people hooked on nicotine in these trying times. I get that it is an alternative. But their advertisement mantra is getting people who don't use nicotine to start using. Saying things like "I can now pop in a lucy nicotine and can relax at my desk while I'm stressed at work. I was trying to read the book for three years. In fact, I did not want to quit smoking 100%. That is why I quit reading instead. Then I started to feel very bad because of smoking (headaches, coughing nonstop) and I was pissed off and really decided and wanted to stop, so I red a book, slowly and thoroughly, and I stopped easily. I did not smoke for 8 months without any desire for it and felt great. Then I smoked a cigarette with my friend when his father died. Next day I smoked 3, next 7, then 12, and I started again. For what is worse, I had not have any urge to lit that first one. Now I am reading again. I wish you a luck. Greetings from Belgrade.

I read it 3 times 14 years ago and quit a 15 year/pack a day addiction. I have not touched a cigarette since and have had zero desire- I’d just as soon eat a skunk sandwich!!! It still gives me butterflies in my stomach when I think of the prison I was freed from. Praise God for the blessing of Allen Carr.

      @instantclassic Three Points.
      Firstly, do you enjoy reading, or are you more of an AV guy? If you're more comfortable with AV, then maybe you can listen to the 4 Day Quit Smoking Bootcamp audiobook on Audible. Listening is great because you can keep rewinding and relistening to certain phrases or explanations.
      Secondly, I would say Take your Time. Allow the messages in the books to really get engrained into your psyche. All the points given in the book are designed to help you slowly get rid of all the excuses/reasons one uses to smoke. They makes you realize that you don't have to live in fear or dread of the addiction.
      Thirdly, make the decision to quit smoking a positive one. Don't do it in fear or anger, sadness, frustration or even pride. If there were certain phrases or sentences that really made an impact on you, write them on your phone or a paper that you can carry. Also, write down the reasons why you want to quit. If you get the urge to smoke, go back and read all these points. Smile and say, "Yay!! I'm a Nonsmoker! I'm Free!!!"
      Hope these help.

      Hi, whether you just want to stop smoking cigarettes or want to stop using cannabis/marijuana as well - if you mix cannabis/marijuana with tobacco, ‘first base’ is to stop doing so. Some helpful tips are here www.allencarr.com/drug-addiction-help/how-to-stop-taking-cannabis-marijuana/best-ways/ or visit the website and talk to a consultant for more help

    Will this work for smoking marijuana?

      It says in the book you can use it for almost any addiction. But as a former weed smoker myself I d say you should nt need it. Weed s a disgusting drug. Not good for mental health smells a ton. Makes you lazy. Separates you from real life and costs a bomb. Being clear headed beats the cloudiness of being doped up anyday.

      @@craig7715 I agree with everything you said but I still can't seem to quit.

      @@spiritualaesthetic I'm a heavy weed smoker, been a week now since I smoked.the first 3 days I had crazy dreams and mood swings but how I deal with the craving is, I think about what it has done for me the last past years, nothing.. sometimes you have to weigh out the advantages and disadvantages the plant brought you,,at the end of the day it was more disadvantages,,so I laid off it for now.and plus I feel good having a clear head... let's see what the universe brings me... hopefully this comment helped..wish you peace and harmony..
