The fact that we got an update that targeted the issues that came from France purely out of spite is amazing. France happening really helped out the game, and made the game more enjoyable.
Something ppl who just talk shit about game developers not balancing correctly don’t understand, developers don’t have the competitor mindset which is why bugs like these are always found. Competitors want to win more than they want to “have fun” with the game so they actively search for anything that can give them even the slightest edge and then expand on that sometimes to exaggerated levels. Game devs will find the first step in the overtuned chain and adjust it, not knowing its the following steps combined together that creat bs balance issues. Overall, honest mistake on the devs side, Bandai was still a pansy for not owning up to their mistakes but at least some progress.
You don’t need to think competitively to want to patch out stuff like this. Devs can still come from a casual approach when they patch out game-ruining glitches, especially because players don’t need to feel competitive to use those glitches, they can do it just to annoy the other person or for shits and giggles (which happens a lot in online games like this without repercussion). Let’s be honest, the only reason we don’t expect them to fix stuff like this properly is because anime games have such low standards for polish.
@@8bitdiedie Perfectly agree patching was the way to go, I'm just arguing that people who shit talk devs unrealistically expect devs to catch extra bs stuff like the androids on the first run through when they were not actively looking for game breaking bugs/exploits. Like if it wasn't for a certain mindset (competitive or trolly) and just playing with your favorite characters, would that bs runaway have been found and utilized so quickly? Whose favorite character in Dragon Ball of all things the weird ass androids 19 and 20?
Even if the Android ki drain wasn't touched, they could have forced the unlimited timer, can't timer stall when there is no timer The rest of the bugs like Ki loops, yes im glad they have patched
The timer stall is so silly, I never met a single person pre SZ play with timer on in any DB game outside of FighterZ or XV2 where you couldnt really change it in ranked.
The important part is discover what character have most advantages in tournaments as other (Androis and Giants) and what stages can be the most annoying to dealt (Hyperbolic time chamber) so with that the dev know what things need to be fixed.
I hope that they will next address how strong of a mechanic that perception is; or, more accurately, how indiscriminately it can be used and then mashed with almost no downside - especially as it has practically no recovery.
Thats a big problem i think alot of people wont talk about. Too many people just wanna offhand dismiss it as "stop mashing" while the other player is mashing his brains out on it for free and thats thats not a problem. BT3 already had this issue solved. for some godforsaken reason they removed all of the counterbalancing mechanics. So cheese can go uncontested here.
We need active online/offline tournaments all year round and an eventual world tour from bandai. I'm going to contribute in making that happen in 2025.
From what I've seen, the BIGGEST debate this game sparked was the competitive game vs. non-competitive game debate. What it really boiled down to was that most casual players see it this way: competitive games are unfair to casual players and non-competitive games are unfair to competitive players. That's EXACTLY why these tournaments were so important! What casual players don't realize is that if the game is "fair" at the highest levels of play, then it's fair at the lowest level of play, too. The problems that were showcased were exploitable at ANY level. They needed to be ironed out.
Yeah, I've seen people throw a hissy fit at the mere thought of patching even if just to nerf the up-down-up-down dashing Android stall tactic. "DO NOT MAKE THIS GAME COMPETITIVE!", they'll say. Some weird kneejerk response to the very concept of balance patching, because that exploit existing is in no way a net positive to the game. Then those same people will say "Tekken is a fun casual party game, make Sparking Zero casual too" (I've literally seen this argument), which immediately reveals that these people don't know what they're talking about, as Tekken has extensive balance history with fierce high-level competition, and we've not seen a legit broken mainline Tekken since Tekken 4, a game that even the casual audience dumped for Tekken 5 at the earliest opportunity.

Yeah I think it's very rare you will see a big name dev like them owning up to mistakes like that sadly, just the way it is

Just hope the game keeps heading in the right direction.
Here's hoping
I really hope they bring back the 1 ki bar Z-burst Dash back it's really hard to get back in the action when I get knocked back
So stop mashing

The real issue is trying to pretend a game not developed to be competitive is competitive.
When is the last tournament in LA tho?

Agreed. They need to make it more punishable, let me get rewarded by reading my opponent
Inb4 MUI goku demolishes every other character in the grand finals. The game is not better, just differently bad.
I hope you will be at La
Me too!
They definitely had the tournament to see what exploits players would use so they could fix them lol
They didn't need the tournament. A single day on reddit and they would have a great idea what's wrong with the game
5:01 for the last 10 years now devs have been treating us as the play testers.. when are we going to realize that
Yup
We need active online/offline tournaments all year round and an eventual world tour from bandai. I'm going to contribute in making that happen in 2025.
That would be cool, as long as it is properly managed so this doesn't happen again lol
@@tyrant_uk Yeah i tried adding you on discord, can't find you bro
My issue with this game, is it removed every single counter balance mechanic for some reason.
elaborate

Still think it's unfair that the winner didn't get his price.
He used a mechanic in the game and fought to win.
I think the problem wasn't the way he won, it was the alleged collusion between the two players
