Bridgeport, Ca!?!!? Hahaha Hahaha Hahaha Hahaha Hahaha Hahaha! Fuck that. Been there done that, that place is hell on earth. They are trying to sell it like its summer camp, no thanks. Been there, done that. 6 year USMC vet.
you guys should make more videos about life in the military, it's not all boot camp and OCS. im sure a lot of people are more curious about what to expect after the training is done, or better yet, what they can expect once their military service is over. i know a lot of vets that don't use their benefits, or hated their time in the military b/c all they watched was boot camp videos and weren't informed about what military life and post military life was like
I'm a rising softmore in high school and I'm currently trying to decide which branch of the military is for me, does anyone have any tips to help me decide which ROTC program I should apply to?
I'm currently a senior in high school and I've decided in joining the marines, I would recommend doing your research on each branch and join the one your most interested in, join the branch that would make you the most proud to serve your country, good luck my friend
I spent 6 yrs active & 2 in the active reserves in the Navy as an enlisted man back in the 70's & early 80's. I must confess I didn't like it, BUT, I'd do it again if I had it to do over though I'd go in as an officer & get my schooling paid for up front rather than using the old GI Bill as I did. I make a great living off the trade I learned, saw lots of the world I may not otherwise have seen, and experienced a level of camaraderie I've not seen since. Good luck on your decision.
I believe it is based on the job you want and it is mainly because the marines have less avialable jobs. But that would be correct its an overall ranking of PT, GPA, leadership, etc.
Can you still qualify for the NROTC scholarship after completing 4 years of active duty enlistment in the Marine Corps? Is there a way to be part of the NROTC program while you are on your active duty enlistment?
Will being in a program such as JROTC help? Becuase I am currently a cadet in my schools AFJROTC program and I have thought about joining NROTC or AFROTC in college
he didn't ask about the scholarship, you're making it sound like you NEED a scholarship to do NROTC. You just join it like any other class, NROTC isn't the hard part, taking the class, doing the PT sessions and LLAB's isn't that bad. making it through OCS is the hardest part.
Talk to you school counselor, he or she would be more than happy to help you find a college for an NROTC scholarship, you do have to meet a physical requirement and you have to score above a 21 composite of your ACT and above a 1000 on your SAT. Your parents will probably be more proud than scared if they found out you want to join the military and use college to pay for it than enlisting right after highschool. good luck!
I'm choosing this route to become a Marine Officer! My videos document my progress! I only have two uploaded, but there are many more to come as I get closer to becoming one of the few! Check out my page, it might be able to help you!
Just know officers in the marine corps have the most demanding job than any other branches officers I think part of it is due to having to take care of a bunch of young adults who are fighting and getting drunk a lot just be prepared to put leadership skills to the test and time management wish you luck in the corps
I respect how the Marine Corps makes all of their officers go through OCS
You can thank General Al Gray for making that happen.
awasome video

Thank you, best of luck to you too sir!
adrian f did you guys join the ROTC?
NROTC is for aspiring officers. If you only want to enlist, there isn't much of a point in going through NROTC.
Submitted my application for the College Program. Super excited.
I'm 20 I took a few years off of school... is this program exclusive to kids in high school? I hope it's not too late... Thanks!
John Wick no it's not you can join it but it must be before you either 25 years old or 26 one of those two when you enter college
Did you get it?
So usually what percentage of students going into nrotc make it to the marines?

I'm in ARMY JROTC but after I get through whith that I will go into NROTC and become an marine officer that is an promiss.
warriorofthegods1 you keep your promise thus far?
yes, it's just a college class, you enroll as you would any of your other classes
I believe it is based on the job you want and it is mainly because the marines have less avialable jobs. But that would be correct its an overall ranking of PT, GPA, leadership, etc.
Is there a video like this like that explains only the Navy only option?
I cant wait to have the opportunity to try and get selected for the nrotc scholarship. Class of 2013 Oorah
I wanna serve in the marines as an Officer after my bachelor's degree. But I only have a green card. Can I still get the NROTC scholarship?

its an easy job field to get into?
you just enroll as if it were any college class, that goes for all ROTC branches of service. just show up, first day of freshman year
can i attend another military academy but yet still commission upon graduation from the academy?. would i still have to go to ocs?
The academies place you directly into the military as an officer. They are not regular schools.
Can i pick my job? Can i be a Financial Officer in the Navy?
Can you participate in NROTC for four years without getting a scholarship?
SO WOULD YOU GET DEPLOYED TO THE WAR IF NEEDED OR ARE YOU ON ACTIVE DUTY FOR 5 YEARS??
GI Bill is only good for about $54k
All active duty Marines receive free tuition at any institution as long as they maintain a 2.0
I'm in JROTC in high school, I have been considering the officer route for a while now.
Mystix Phil me too
