wow this is literally my childhood my grandmother would make these for me all the time after school. thanks for the tutorial
Thanks for watching!
I read a book that had the characters eating these. It was described in so much detail that I got a craving even though I've never had them before. They were better than I imagined, thanks for the closure! 😁
Found it funny how he ended eating them in a foggy, smoky kitchen after cooking them.
Looks amazing 😍
I've enjoyed following your recipes and guides Jeremy, both from here and the book! This is definitely next on the list!
Job well done simple to prepare thanks for sharing 😊
So it's a dumpling pattie pancake pie. I get it.
I've just made these and they were incredible, soooo juicy inside! They have been a hit with the family, thanks very much!
Mouth watering and easiest way to show the recipe xx
They look fantastic. Definitely my type of food.
哇!真喜欢吃馅饼 😋😋😋
Looks soo good!
Ooh I love 馅饼, so glad you've done a video for this!
Glad you enjoyed watching!
It looks so yummy. Especially enjoy the young men’s British accent.
The oil and water in the meat is such a great idea!
They look good
I can imagine these deep fried or baked as well! This seems like a very versatile and universal method/technique. Thanks Jeremy!
Glad you enjoyed!
Just keep the heat low, so the center of the meat and sides of the dough gets cooked.
Wow look so tasty 😋 perfect 👌 I like it 💐🇬🇧
Now I AM salivating, Jeremy! Looks delicious, and I'm betting it tastes even better! =]
cant wait to try it ❤
Hope you enjoy making it!
Love the idea of this! It's a must try 💖💕

Thanks for watching!
He is so cute!
My god that looks tasty.
Awesome stuff! 👌
Thanks for watching!
Looks delicious. I wonder if the filling would work in a filo pastry baked in the oven with a few dipping sauces?
Awesome ❤❤❤
Thanks! - Chris
thanks again!! :)
Glad you enjoyed!
Sounds like a plan for the weekend 😉
Enjoy cooking!
Now I'm hungry
❤❤❤
This has to be good. I'll try make them a little less juicy somehow someway
I am surprised the meat cooked inside. I wonder if it can just be fried lightly each side then finished in the oven. Then I can use less oil. Will try this veganized with mushrooms.
Seems like a dipping sauce or even Sanbal or soy with chili and garlic would go well with it !!!
OMG, I made these
So delicious… instead of shaoxing, could I put sake
would one usually use a dipping sauce with these? or eat them straight?
Can you tell us what brand that pan is that you were cooking in? Looks like a carbon steel pan but I can't tell the brand
Hello! Can we use store-bought gyoza or dumpling skin instead of making the skin? Thanks!
How many pies should it produce?
How many dumplings does each batch of dough make?
I ❤it. This is how I make my meat pie.❤❤❤
Hey Jeremy where can I get d mortar and pestle you use in this recipe? Do you have a link I can check for it since I am from Trinidad in d Caribbean. Thank you come visit some time
you really do have "asbestos hands" for kneading that hot water dough :P
Must be raw in middle surely ?😮
Thumbnail looks like a cross between dosa crepes, stuffed paratha bread, and scottish meat pasties. I've added this to my watch list. 😄
Hope you enjoy watching!
Can we use pork or chicken to do this??
I had no idea that our family meat pies were Chinese 🤪
How many beef meat pie you you made?

Just a simple question. After many years of asian style cooking, i have come to the following conclusion: Are sesame oil, Soy sauce, Oyster sauce, Shaoxing Wine the "must have" ingredients?
collab with Sorted Foods!
That would be fun! - Lee
Can they be baked instead? I’ve eaten something similar which looked like char siew baos but baked and not as flat as this
Great video - looks great. Oh, by the way, the 1970's called, they want their wrist watch back!
Very nice
But i think it wiuld be better if the meat is half fried before filling it then filled and the pie is fried as you did
Because the meat seems here half done
I thought so too
I'd fight everybody in China and Jeremy for one of those right now.
Isn't that juicy only because its almost raw?
Can someone use pork meat?
Can’t imagine cooking Chinese food on an electric or induction stove. Sad that California is banning gas. I hope the techniques and food don’t change too much.
I heard that has gas stoves are better for cooking in that one has more precise control over temperature.
