It started with one village in Calgary, where funds were raised and contractors donated their time to build individual units for Veterans with all needed amenities on site. Homes for Heroes started small, but seeing the idea spread not only across Canada, but around the world speaks to it's need and success.
Watching Princess Ann here, she so much resembles her beloved dear Mother, The Queen, in her looks, voice, deliverance of speaking as preceeded by her Mother before her, same eloquently manner and this is a fine effort to have opened a special place for the veterans , and would love to see more dedicated " veteran villages " being established worldwide .✌️🎖

The Princess Royal speaks of the Legion having adopted a model of "villages" for Veterans who need assistance. These communities of individual homes (apartments or suites) offer all services a Veteran might need,. Everything from medical to counselling to government offices, all within very easy access from their doors. These models have been hugely successful and more are always urgently needed. They allow Veterans to maintain their dignity and independence while receiving the help they need. This is a wonderful initiative, and I'm glad Ptincess Anne is involved with it. 💖👑

Lovely to see HRH. She does incredible work and tepresents all the Royal family is about. What an amazing model of housing, more of this needed so our older residents are not isolated in rooms or apartments and unable go access the community. We all need a sense of belonging, respect and dignity. ❤
