NiSi ATHENA Prime lenses impressed us back at NAB 2023, and now the company has come up with three new lenses: 18mm T2.2, 40mm T1.9, and 135mm T2.2. In this short NAB 2024 show floor interview, you can hear about NiSi's motivation behind the ATHENA Prime line, as well as some possible future products and the company's relationship with the filmmaker community.

A zoom from Nisi, like a 28-85 would be great ! I'd love to see longer lenses as well like a 200mm ! Very excited about the macro as well !
Finally a 40mm. The companies making cine lens sets without the 27/40mm focal length just shows you how much they actually know about cinematography.

@@adrianstanciu The 40mm full frame equivalent focal length has been a staple for cinematographers for forever. And now there are all these companies, coming out with affordable cine lens sets that are basically all photography focal lengths.

@@fede9520 I mean yes but it’s really not just Deakins. 40mm has been a go to for most DPs. Also it’s one of the two focal lengths used by Pfister and Van Hoytema for the vast majority of IMAX shots in Nolan movies.
I’ve owned the set for about 6 month now. They are terrific-sharp, light, neutral. The 40mm is a long time coming. On the fence about the 135 and the 18mm. I am hoping for a 100-110? Great interview-NISI is on the ball!!! Thanks for this

I prefer a 65mm macro for food table top work, but 100mm macro would be nice too. Do both ! 65 & 100 macro 🎉

Canon has the new 24-105 f2.8 that would be perfect range for a Zoom !!!!
Love the Nisi product philosophy. Seriously considering a full kit, 10k for 8 lens, this is a dream a this price point

I would absolutely love these if they were EF-compatible, but on the other hand I understand the physics of why they are not, and sadly it probably doesn't make financial sense to significantly overhaul their core lens designs just for an increasingly niche mount (outside of non-Sony "corporate video" land. at least).
I would love to see a 21mm and maybe a 27mm as well as a 65mm. This way i could get the 14mm,18mm, 21mm, 27mm, 40mm, 50mm, 65mm 85mm and the 135mm and avoid the 25mm & 35mm wich I heard in some review have quite noticeable CA wich I can’t stand. Everything else i saw is really really awesome! What about a 1.33x anamorphic adapter that works for all focal lengths and keeps more or less the same character as they have so one could turn them into clean anamorphics like the Viltrox epic lenses?
what about 65mm between 50 and 85mm??
